Would you be a good eyewitness? Now’s your chance to find out with this free app from The Open University. Create a PhotoFit of yourself, your friends or take our celebrity challenge and re-create the face of a famous person. You can share your Photofit with friends and view it in the gallery. Scroll through the choices of eyes, noses, mouths, hair, jaws and even facial hair and spectacles, then using simple sliders you can even reshape each feature to make them wider, higher and adjust their position on the face as well as change the skintone. By seeing how tricky it is to create an accurate PhotoFit, piecing together the face like a jigsaw, you’ll appreciate why The Open University has helped the police to develop a new system to describe suspects. This innovative approach uses the whole of the face reflecting the way our brains work – making it easier to recall individual faces. Want to learn more? More updates would be nice.

This works fine on my Nexus 4. Shame so many people had problems with it. Two massive improvements would be: to be able to edit Photofits after you've saved them, and brightness controls for each individual face element. Other than that... great! Could do with a few more eyes though.

Saved some spot-on faces but the app saves the representation poorly. Nice try needs work and more options needed. Looks like but not enough positioning and more ear, chin, etc... options. Need more Asian, White, Black, etc... variety. Thanks but looking for more control.

Love what they tried to do, hate what they actually did. There are *FAR* too few components, the colour needs to be adjustable for each, and they need better grouping (or just grouping would be a start), all of this on top of a very unstable app does not bode well.

It's cute but too limited to be anything but entertainment. Too few choices of face parts, can't get a whole mouth to show even with adjustments, can't get gray shades to match, etc. Uninstalled.

Need to be able to shade individual parts of the face, and more hairstyles.... But best app yet.

A very useful tool

This is the second open uni app I've tried that doesn't work being this and the student home one. Both need a good seeing to... I've also just seen a comment that its a very old app, if so, why are the open uni still telling us to download if you aren't going to maintain it? mental

This app crashes within a few seconds EVERY time I try to use it on my Samsung Galaxy S3. Wish I'd read all the reviews first... but would still like to try it once fixed.

This app is over 2 years old, has plenty of poor reviews yet is still on version 1.0, which says all you need to know. I'm surprised the OU puts their name to something so useless. Just withdraw it if you can't be bothered to respond to all the complaints as it's just a waste of everyone's time. Unimpressed.
