Allah juga berfirman: Sesungguhnya, solat itu tiang agama, sesiapa yang mendirikan fan menjaga kesempurnaannya, maka dia membangunkan agama, tetapi sesiapa yang meninggalkannya, maka dia meruntuhkan agama. (Hadis riwayat Bukhari dan Muslim). Sesiapa menjaga kesempurnaan solat fardu termasuk memperbanyakkan solat sunat, nescaya akan memperoleh kebaikan dan kesenangan di akhirat ketika hari pembalasan. Ini bermakna, solat menjadi syafaat (pemberi pertolongan) kepada dirinya ketika amalan dihisab untuk menentukan sama ada seseorang itu ahli syurga atau neraka. Dalam konteks menjaga solat ini, ahli tafsir menjelaskan bahawa dua perkara yang perlu dipelihara iaitu tidak sesekali mengerjakan solat dalam keadaan malas dan juga tidak riak atau menunjuk-nunjuk kepada orang lain. Orang bertakwa akan mengerjakan solat memenuhi syarat dan rukun serta rasa khusyuk dan patuh dengan perintah Allah. Solat ini diterima oleh Allah dan termasuk dalam golongan yang dinyatakan dalam hadis di atas. Bagi orang yang mengerjakan solat dalam keadaan malas dan riak, solatnya bukan saja tidak diterima, malah mendapat kecelakaan daripada Allah.
