The outlook app used to function smoothly but recent updates have made it such a pain to use. I prefer to use outlook from a web browser on my tablet at this point. Whenever you click a link in an email, outlook clears the email view window and un-selects the message from the list in the left column. It's a royal pain trying to open multiple links from the same email when you have to go back and scroll down through your messages each time just so that the message is still in the viewing window.

Update - Last few updates have not helped. Still a mess. Gets very confused with notifications if the underlying email is read or moved on desktop version. Even slower than it was 6 months ago. Is there a way to trigger notifications but not go to the actual email but to the inbox instead? Maybe that would fix it. This seems like it would be easy to fix for a company the size of Microsoft, but maybe it can't be fixed. App gets "confused" when it fires a notification that I received an email and I read or move or delete the email on my laptop and then click on the notification on my phone. Maybe the notification should just take me to my inbox instead of trying to find the email that fired it? I'm just an accountant. Anyhow, very disappointing.

I've used Hotmail and outlook for as long as I could remember and unfortunately, I have to say this app is the worst iteration of this email provider. The app constantly glitches, I can't see the content in emails. Its extremely annoying and unreliable. Even using the website is the absolute worst. 🙄

When I search for an email sent by x, I often get search results of my emails to x, not x's response emails. I hope search results would return our conversations, not emails sent, or received, ONLY. Edit: also, please consider creating the option of disabling Bing Search in the context menu system-wide. It is arguably outside the purview of Outlook as an email client, contact organizer, calendar, and 'by proxy' a task management system through integrations.

I like this app a lot better since I can use it with Microsoft To Do app (which syncs with the Desktop version of Outlook) for tasks, flagged emails, to do lists. Only issue I have is that it has no contact screens like the desktop Outlook where I can see my contacts and contact groups. Still not perfect... but better.

Search does not work at all on subfolders under inbox - neither from inbox or from actual folder - even tho I can see emails it should find and ok on desktop. Planned to use outlook so business emails separate to personal (Gmail app), but due to this (and notifications and focused inbox) issue, am uninstalling, back to using Gmail. Very disappointed such basic, essential function fails.

I loved using Outlook... until today. I have several email addresses I use for different purposes and with Outlook I could easily switch between them. I opened it today and got the screen you get when you first download it. That brought me up short. I saw the "Premium" button next to the sign in button and realized I was screwed. Sure enough, once I logged in with my first account I found that the option to add more accounts was gone. I guess I need to find a new mail app.

As of the last update on 20 May, 2021, Outlook kept hanging, it constantly popped up a message saying it could not send a draft message I didn't draft. When I opted to open the draft, in every case, again and again, there would be a blank message, which I would delete, only for the message to come up again and repeat the cycle. I tried 3 times to uninstall and reinstall and it simply wouldn't progress past the 'add account' page... Utterly useless and beyond frustrating! Update: Above fixed

Outlook is definitely on the right track to creating an app that is your "1 stop shop" to productivity. The email section is a little confusing and not as user friendly as I prefer due to the conversation or individual style chat options. However, the navigation is confusing and not exactly accurate unless you have a large screen to work with due to small icons and many options available for each section. Overall I enjoy it so far but am a new user so we will see..

I see some emails in the web version, in standard android app but do not see in the Outlook app, neither in focused nor in other. E.g. just received an email, clearly see it in web, in the standard app, but not in this app. Adding Lots of spam and fishing has recently started to come into the outlook account email box. Bad anti spam protection.
