Reviews From google play store

2/15/20: App constantly refocuses Moto G7 (Android Pie, v9.0). Image sharpness seems a matter of random luck at moment shutter button is pressed: Majority of photos out of focus. 5/20/19: Excellent alternative to the built-in camera app. However… Possible Bug: Using Open Camera to (p)review newly created still photos… Pressing the camera icon (top left corner of photo preview screen), which should resume Open Camera's picture-taking mode, launches the OS/device-native Camera app instead!

Been using for a while and there are so many issues. Keeps turning screen on in my pocket draining my battery (never happens with stock app), frequently fails to launch properly, has a lot of trouble focusing and then changes focus right when taking the picture, and shots often come out blurry (camera isn't great, so likely as much an issue with the phone as this app, but was hoping for an improvement over stock app and if anything it's worse). There's more, but bottom line is it's no good.

Mostly perfect. Has a lot of settings real cam user needs. Only problems are some minor bugs. Randomly macro doesn't work and sometimes camera bugs out and freezes. Then it says "Camera may be in use by another application" even it's not. Then I have to restart and everything fine again. I'm using Lenovo Moto C Plus and Android 7.0. Could be phone or Android version related problems. I don't know. Great cam soft anyway!

I just used this app to try to record a very important event in my life, I trusted it and after a while it just decided to crash for no reason, and my video file wasn't saved. I'll never get this moment back and because of that I will never use your app ever again. It's no good if it can't be trusted and clearly it can't be trusted. I urge everyone to delete and not use this for video. Plus it constantly autofocuses with no way to turn it off. Please no form letter responses. Don't insult me.

Useless for me. I downloaded Open Camera to use an external mic for videos, but it never recognized and used my external mic, even with a cable splitter. For some reason videos are extremely dark using open camera as opposed to the stock camera, however photos are normal. I don't see any option to change this.

Alot of potential but it's not ready in my opinion. It works well but there are some bugs and the UI is frankly kind of ugly and bland. But I downloaded it because I was told the camera app works better than some stock apps on mid-range phone. On my Bold N1 that is absolutely true. So devs if you're reading these; the app performs well but please update that UI and the bugs ( bug example: I choose no flash before I take a picture but it still flashes. Not sure why after I've chosen not to but..

Takes fantastic photos when it works. Trouble is it recently stopped saving half the photos I make. They still come up in the side window as if they're taken but even if you try to open them from there there's nothing there. For some reason the thumbnails also don't appear half the time when sharing or opening on PC, for the photos it does take. Hope this gets remedied but until then I'm switching back to the much worse but functional default camera app.

I have a Samsung crown phone and it boasts a 13 megapixel camera. It takes nice pictures but when I would try video it was always on automatic and I didn't have the control I wanted. I have had experience with professional video cameras and I found it frustrating. So I downloaded this app and it's done everything I was hoping for. You can control everything. It's just like having an expensive professional video camera and the still pictures are fabulous too. And it's just under 6 megabytes.

I installed this onto my galaxy camera in the hope of improving on that camera's 0appallingly bad interface... I had high Hope's and love supporting open source, but sadly the more I used it, the more annoyed I became. The menus were not intuitive, it kept on crashing and basic things like auto exposure were all over the place. I've therefore now bitten the bullit and uninstalled it and have gone off hunting for something that resembles a usable camera which this sadly isn't. Sorry.

It is awesome app. It has a date feature that w need to show on pictures to remind us when the pictures are taken that is great. It has a feature showing a location that is awesome. However, the location includes a specific number of street name. EX: it shows 5492 Boxwood Dr. Columbus, OH when I was taken at my home), which is not too good as we don't want to show the world a specific address where we are at. So, please keep street name, City, and State and remove a specific number. Thanks a lot
