** Top 10 Music App in 28 countries **

Ground-breaking music composition and music notation software from Neuratron.

- Featuring powerful handwritten music recognition - quickly and accurately enter music notation with your finger or stylus, on a tablet or smartphone.

- Write music on the train, in a plane, by a lake, or just sitting comfortably on your sofa!

- Simple, intuitive interface with little to distract you from your creativity - similar to writing with pen and paper, but with instant playback, editing and a printable score at the end!

- Write music notation for solo instruments (including voice and piano), drums or ensembles from string quartets and choirs to full orchestral scores. Includes support for transposing instruments.

- Email PDF, MusicXML and MIDI files of your scores to friends or other musicians. Open in Sibelius, Finale and other desktop software. Print to paper (requires free PDF printing app to be installed).

- Import and edit MusicXML files (most music symbols supported).

- Automatically sync your scores to Dropbox so you can edit them on your phone whilst you are out, and then on your tablet when you get back.

- Great when learning or teaching music notation.

- NotateMe recognises a wide range of music notation symbols, including notes (with solid, open, and slanted noteheads), flags, beams (even cross-staff*), leger lines, multiple voices per staff, chords, rests, accidentals (natural, sharp, double sharp & flat), articulation marks, augmentation dots, ties, slurs, hairpins, clef changes, key signatures. Barlines, clefs, time signatures and tuplets are added automatically.

- Drag and drop (or set selected drawings to) further music symbols including cross noteheads, pedal markings, ornaments and appoggiatura.

- Add chord-symbols, dynamics, technique, tempo changes and lyrics to your score. Write comments or ideas in 'red pen'.

- If NotateMe doesn’t recognise your style immediately, keep at it, as it will adjust. Leave clear space between symbols and make markings clearer with further strokes if any transcription errors occur. If you experience problems, tap 'Help Improve NotateMe' from the Export menu and we will analyze your handwriting to help us improve NotateMe further.

* Cross-staff beaming requires a display taller than 3.8 inches

This was once a great application, worth the $40. Now, it barley works. Trumpet and Violin audio sounds the same, I can only import 3 scores before being told the format no longer is supported, and now I can't rename any scores I create. I keep getting told that the version I have is only support for older Android OS and that I need to update software, but GooglePlay does not have an update available. If there is a fix to all my issues, this would get 5/5.

Cannot export any scores. Cannot save on Pdf n midi format....it did work only twice...don't know what to do with all my scores. Will have to rewrite everything with finale to be able to export them...

again, cannot save my work or email it from my phone. It worked great when I could but it doesn't help me upload my scores if I can't save them or email them.

Ok for my usage, which is to write melodies on-the-go when I'm somewhere without paper and pen, or if I want to hear the result. I would not use for large projects, but for writing, listening, and exporting snippets it's good, once you get comfortable with the way it works. (for example: measure bars are not written but you have to click on the last double bar to add new ones...or the pen tool allows to select, move, or copy/paste a whole section).

In general, I like notateme. It does a reasonable job of recognizing my handwritten notes and formatting the score. Primary use: writing piano scores and voice lines for songs. Sometimes it tries to do too much, though: * lyrics adjust to the staff above them. Often ok but not when lyrics are under a bass line. * sometimes gets stuck on rhythmic pattern, like a triplet. I have to delete the measure to clear it * at times forces wrong stem direction * ledger lines turned into whole note rests

Nope sorry, I was rooting for this app but it simply is not fit for purpose. Hit and miss whether it recognises and converts your writing at all, and even when it does there are weird errors that appear and need extensive fixing. It's simply too time-consuming to go back and correct everything it gets wrong - you may as well use regular notation software or old-fashioned pencil and manuscript. Both would be quicker, more accurate, more legible. Such a shame. Much, MUCH more work needed.

If wasting time by losing an hour while trying to write one measure is your thing then this app is for you. I wanted to use this app to notate my own music however when trying to notate multiple note chords the intepreter is absolute garbage, and i cannot get it to be consistent. I spent over 5 hours yesterday to barely get a few bars done because of the intepreters inability. The developers need to update this program. Untill then save yourself the money if you're trying to do serious work.

Unusable. It used to work, and I paid good money for it. Wish I could get that back now.

How could you not give 5 stars? This app is a head turner whenever you talk about it with somebody that hasn't heard of it. Only thing is the note recognition system is kind of hardwired to its effect. You can't see some of the items that will end up on the formatted score and since you cannot select anyting on the formatted score itself, there is no way to remove a mistakenly read item, a slur floating between the clefs... It takes patience to rewrite notes. You email for persistent problems.

Sorry, but it never works. It never recognize my handwriting. I´ve had this app for many years now and it never lears my writing. It was expensive and it doesn´t work. Sorry... It would have been a great tool for my work as a session drummer. Now I have to use paper and pen...
