The cameras are good but this app is horrible. I'd be a happy customer if I could actually see live feed and easily watch footage. Most of the time the camera views are all black, no matter how many times I restart my phone and the app itself. In order to see all footage, I have to load the page about 50 times just to get to the time frame I need. The cameras aren't cheap so I don't fully understand why they haven't updated the app in the last 3 years to at least function properly.

App doesn't work. It used to work fine. Now I can't get it to work at all. I rebooted my hard drive and still nothing. It's going back to Costco and I'll buy something else. Update: I can see live video, but nothing stored on the DVR will play back. Junk system.

Hasn't been updated since 2018 can't use it. Spent a lot of time and money hooking it up. It doesn't alert you when anybody is near only when cars pass by the app on the phone doesn't work nothing is accessible I think it's time for a lawsuit. Who's with me??

Don't waste your money on this. it always stops working some how I use to get a black screen now they say its offline i restart everything and nothing works i cant even add the cameras back to the app... we got 8 cameras for NOTHING...FIX IT... and they called me to offer me another night owl system I told them why I wouldn't get it they only say sorry about that they didn't offer to help fix it or anything they told me to have a good day and that's it.

Was great but has gone to horrible. We've had this system for 3 or 4 years now. The app is absolutely horrible. The screens are always black. Deleted and reinstalled. Didn't work. Deleted device and reinstalled. Didn't work. We told everyone about these great cameras. Now, we don't. The app needs to be fixed! It's useless.

App needs to be updated. Video playback no longer works. Tried to contact developer by email and it bounced back stating no longer a valid email address. I have only had our cameras for 3 years. They should not be obsolete this fast!!!

Never know if ill be able to view the cameras or not. It will work for a couple days and then not for two weeks. This app is a vital part of the night owl system and if it doesnt work then people should not buy Night Owl cameras. - Just an update since the app is once again not working and gives the "unable to connect your device, please check your network settings and try again" error when trying to reconnect to my dvr device. It has been a week now, no connection. It's clearly the app.

Cameras work well. Accessing the DVR directly works well. This app? Not so much. Constantly loses connection for no reason at all. Hard to reestablish the connection. Playback doesn't work for me anymore. Last update was in 2018. What's the point?

Edited to add: I see many are having the same issues with a black screen and no footage. I was having the same problems. I was able to fix this by deleting the device (your DVR, not the app) and re-installing. Works perfectly now. Would still like to see an update to the app though, given the fact the last one was in 2018. Hope this helps the others that are having problems. Changing the rating back to 3 stars. Will give an additional star if the app is updated.

DVR stopped connecting to internet. After troubleshooting for days I am told to buy a new DVR. The software has not been updated since 2017 and they just want you to buy a new DVR to be able access live feed. I should note the device is not from 2017, I mistakenly bought it without checking how old the software was.
