Good tuner, except that there is vibrato on the tuning pitch. This app would be better with just a straight pitch. It just makes sense, since that is what the rest of the world does.

I downloaded this because the logo showed a bullseye tuner. If there actually is such a screen, it is not easy to get to. I also didn't like that if I went to settings, the only way to get out was to exit the app.

Best violin tuning app. Tried a bunch this was easiest to use. The analog meter is handy for telling if your tuning is off too high or low, the audio sample of the strings help figure out if you're close and want it should sound like. Ads are unobtrusive.

Excellent app, and not just for tuning. I'm a beginning violinist, and I don't have the ear for identifying notes. This app allows me to not just tune the strings; it helps me to learn the correct finger position for every note with a simple scale that clearly shows the accuracy of the notes I'm playing. I recommend this app for anyone from beginner to master.

I don't play violin - I was looking for someone else. Violins are most often tuned in perfect fifths, but this defaults to "Equal tempered", which makes more sense if you are playing with a piano than an orchestra. If you set the temperament to Perfect Fifth and the A4 to 440, I think E5 should be 440*3÷2=660. It isn't. You get the right frequencies by selecting "Pythagorean A". Perhaps that should be the default. BTW I'm told the most common current U.S. orchestral standard is A 441, not the old-fashioned default A 440. But - I'm not an expert, so maybe this isn't quite right. In addition to better defaults, it needs better instructions that explain these sorts of things, and give step by step instructions. (Maybe the lack of such instructions is why some people broke their strings??) You shouldn't have to push a button to start tuning - it should be in tuning mode any time you aren't pushing a string to hear the pitch. (If you turn on Airplane Mode, the phone won't ring while playing with others, and you see fewer ads.)

Amazing app! I'm a brand new beginner. I've never tuned anything. I was struggling with the physical tuner I had bought. But this app helped me tune my violin in an hour (I broke the E string and had to replace. Oops.) But now she's ready to go and I'm overjoyed that I was able to do it myself. 👍👍👍

I love this app. It's very useful and makes tuning my Violin a lot easier. My only complaint is when I adjust the volume of my phone so I can hear the notes clearer, the volume on the app does NOT adjust with the volume of my phone, and with the quietness of the sound from the app it makes it more difficult. Especially when I'm trying to learn by ear to tune.
