LTE Discovery is a powerful signal discovery and analysis tool with many advanced features and customizations available.
Key features:
- Identifies LTE band for Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and several other countries (support for more carriers added with the crowdsource feature and user aid)
- Identifies EARFCN and Band for any country/provider when using a Qualcomm processor and ROOTED
- Live band identifier and signal data in the notification bar
- Refresh cell radio (reset data connection) to connect to best signal available* (Note: Google added restrictions in Lollipop and above, so it may require root or be unavailable)
- Automatic refreshing of mobile radio for different conditions
- Alert notification for LTE bands and GCIs (connected and disconnected)
- Save LTE logs
- Automated visual logger (Sprint + Pro only)
- EARFCN band calculator (range and precise UL and DL frequencies) (Pro)
- Wide range of settings to customize your experience (Pro)
- Advanced LTE, 4G, 3G, GSM, CDMA data (GCI, PCI, TAC, RSRP, RSRQ, band, EARFCN, frequency)
Disclaimer:
- This is an advanced app with some features specific to only some devices/carriers. Many thanks to the community for the support and the questions and feedback.
- "Best signal available" doesn't mean this app can make LTE appear where there is none. There is no such thing as an "LTE signal booster" app, what actually happens is forcing the device to search again for the best signal rather than staying connected to an older, possible stale connection.
- Not all devices/carriers are supported for LTE bands and other advanced signal data. These are limitations of those devices.
- At this time, the in-app map is only used for showing current location. Though, Sprint+Pro users may have more feature. Support for more carriers is currently in active development.
- From user reports, Verizon sometimes provides tower location, but they are typically inaccurate.
If you work in the industry, feel free to email us if you have any knowledge that may be able to help us. (Our email can be found in-app)
By resetting the mobile connection, you can fix many common network related issues like: continuous low signal, data disconnection, poor call quality, signal instability, and more. You could also fix these issues by restart/reboot your phone, or you could just let LTE Discovery reset your radios in a few seconds. But, better signal quality is not a guarantee, especially if you are in a carrier zone with little coverage.
RATINGS: If you like this app, please support us by rating it 5 stars and helping with a +1, or let us know how we can improve the app. We are always working and striving to improve the app.
SUPPORT: If you notice any problems, please use the "Send debug email" option in-app and provide us as much information as possible about the problem and how we can recreate it.

Reviews From google play store

I'm going to give this app 5 stars just because it's worked so nice in a short period of time. The devéloper does a great job explaining its features in a brief way that a user can take the time and go through it.. More to come later on this app for me after I get some cell logging accomplished.

completely messed up my wifi signal while it was doing its thing. it was perfect before I installed this app and the second it started its stuff the signal was gone. I know that because I switched back and forth after I installed it and used it, and zero signal. I uninstalled it and I'm still left with zero signal. do not use this app. bad news!

Great app with lots of information. Only thing I would add is improvements to the accuracy and better location information (which tower the phone is connected to would be nice).

Works slow and 30 other devices were connected to my sim card and home wifi by trying to get my device to work. Whoever has access to every app has disconnected my attwireless service and im

Seeing other Connections stronger than the one I am on and resetting has been very useful. When we get the map it goes to 5 stars. Well worth the install. July 31 - stiil like it. Still hoping for map

Nice app - I paid the upgrade to support the app. May I ask for the dev to look at; 1) adding vibrating alerts (mainly for connected and disconnected signals? 2) Offline/ on device logging with date & time stamping for selectable events such as signal (connected, disconnected), airplane mode, signal type (4G etc), band, signal strength? (ideally exportable in csv) Apologies if these features are already implemented and I've overlooked them.

OK app does not seem to work for the Galaxy S7 on Verizon. Shows what band I am on, but that's about it. No GPS, says that I am 17000+ miles from the tower lol Update: Have used the app for a while now, not as useful as I thought it would be, kinda wish I didn't buy it now. Is it possible to still get a refund? I think it's a good app for other phones, just not mine, galaxy s7 is probably too old.

I like the layout of the information indicating my LTE frequency band, and signal strength for both LTE and GSM. The best part is a floating yellow arrow pointing to the direction of the cell tower. I use this app to help me find the best location in my house to install a signal booster.

this does nothing more than a reset in settings they keep saying they are gonna get a map so when? this app sucks and i paid 2 bucks a month hoping it might help. I am going to have to ask for a refund.

Its very useful. Has a lot of details displayed than the others. No ads and free. Thanks

For what it does this is a great application. Don't over expect from it. The data it provides is not what a technician would need, but it is way beyond what the average user would ever need. in reality the average user would only need a general idea, this app does far beyond that.

This app is excellent...it allows you to get an in-depth read on signals, their strengths, and all available cell towers and satellites within range. Must have app!

This app by far is one of the best for signal info. I just wished there was a way it could display what the downlink and uplink bandwidth is for the LTE bands like for example 5, 10, 15 or 20 MHz channels.

This app is great! Some feedback, battery drain is higher than it used to be. New LTE frequency recognition and support super delayed even following donations. Band 71 and Band 66 often times are not recognized and reported as a unknown.

still good. I bought this app maybe 6 years ago. whenever I'm using foreign network phones on my home network to test signal. since not all bars are represented the same. anyway good app. tho LTE map still says Coming soon. after 6-7 years? lol

Very useful app for troubleshooting signal issues and for gathering advanced network information.

This app needs to be built into all phones. Will definitely connect you to better towers when having issues.

Two words: Awesome Sauce! even w my unrooted lgg6! how have i not learned of this before now?! Thanks devs (found it on several mentions in help articles). Personal Request: a dedicated settings button in on main (middle) page. i play in settings so often this would be nice 😁 Thanks again! great app!

Reset from 3g to LTE perfectly until I paid for the pro version. Does not reset automatically as expected.

Its a very new learning tool for me. thanks Now i am addicted to more then just a dumb game 2 hours toggling settings trying to learn.

I am experiencing a weird GPS bug where the app cannot access my location, no GPS satellites or coordinates are displayed. Map doesn't work. Permissions are enabled for location.

Used it to see when i had weak reception in old apt. Was able to verify good reception in new apt.

it doesn't fully support dual sim features in notif and is hard to distinguish if it was for this or that sim.

Works good but no background processes if you close app everything closes. Should be able to run service in background.

since the latest security on the Huawei P20 the network number fails to show & i see signal bars in its place. Huawei phones are very forceful on closing running apps even if they are locked in recent apps or selected to manage manually. any advice?

Completely useless. The arrow that is supposed to point to the nearest/strongest tower instead points to me 80% of the time. When i do get it to point away from me, if I turn 10° the arrow turns 60°. It refuses to point in one direction no matter how I hold or turn my phone. I was trying to align an antenna, but this app made it worse instead of better.

this app helped me find towers and where to place an antenna to get servic inside my house after not getting texts at home for 3 years!

Any ability to adjust the list of prefered networks on the sim card or flush the list?

I enjoy this app plus appreciate what it does for my phone this is a very well made app that does much more than expected. It has solved my network/& data problem I also bought the pro version at a good price well worth it thnx 2 the devs.

The app works but it crashes when start my phone. This is happening on my motorola devices. I wish it had a tower map for the major four carriers. Otherwise, i like the widget. I am a sprint customer who has a magic box. Their tower is pushing band 41 @ 2668 mhz and the magic box pushes band 41 @ 2518.4mhz - so it is helpful for me to figure out whether the phone is conncecting to the box or the tower.

Nice app. The only problem is shows Band 0 when your phone has multiple band connection

Great App!. First, I like the fact that you can have your phone's signal rate, strength, and Cell location etc., with the app's overlay ability on the top of your phone's screen at any transparency of your choosing. Second, I like all the many signal metering choices, or options you can apply, or choose to monitor at any given time rate. *Tip; Besides just clicking on and off, you must know that behind those choices there are many, many more options to choose from i.e., you must click on the option's link in order to get behind and open up these many more options. To the developer (s), fantastic job! Please keep up the good work, and develop others.

works great!! I'm using the free one well worth upgrading! where I'm located no service works good outside nothing inside unless you press your head in certain windows...mainly the bathroom and only get a bad reception but keep calling back to check on mom...it's windows ter it's to cold to go out at night and try to talk. Awful but had tried everything.best rated phone services to signal boosters apps ex.. one thing left I hear they are cell phone home antania's then some say there not???

pretty detailed and I'm sure quite useful when used with the correct phone.

Looks like you need to update your app to recognize T-Mobile's bands 66 and 71. Your app was showing band 4 for both when another app was showing the correct band.

I needed a cell antenna booster.. needed to know the frequency and Band to get the right antenna. Then needed to know which direction to point the antenna to the cell tower.. this app helped with all that...

Works great! Takes 1 bar and turns it into 4 to 5 bar signal in my apt.

I am gonna use this when I head to my camp site in WV , there is no phone signal there and it drives me crazy...hopefully this will help...any suggestions on how to get a good phone signal or a booster...?

Glad i found this app. Has exactly what im looking for. Displays which band you are using and where the tower is located.

Works good when rooted, lots of good info. One thing I would like to recommend to developers to maybe include in a future update, is the ability to sort (or "group") the LTE LOG by the band, time, provider, etc., in addition to the color coding of the log.

Really love this App! i live waaaay up in the boonies where my 4G coverage is VERY spotty, & even most of the time my data doesnt even flow thru & i have a hard time connecting at times. & now with this app, i have the LTE bars up on the top left corner of my screen. & they are ALWAYS full bars! its awsum! never again will i evr have spotty coverageORdata nevr flowing thru my phone! im givng this app a 5 star Rating! thank U developers!! i now have 4G LTE(Cuz of LTE bars) up here in the boonies!

Fun tool, but needs updating - new LTE bands are shown as "-1" with frequency 6700 MHz (i.e. bogus).

This app does the real work. Anyone who rates this app with less than 4 stars is a dishonest entity. Look! it's worth downloading. To the developer, I salute you!

This a great app! Gives so many many details on the network you are on. Its truly fantastic for a power user or any technical troubleshooting. Hats for to you guys for doing a stand-up job on this app, i am going to spread the word around. Highly recommended.

This app provides plenty of options and tons of great information in an easy to digest format. You can get all this information in other ways but this is laid out in a compact, efficient and easily accessible way. This is what good software should do. Thank you guys for sharing your work.

This app is probably one of the best to help you navigate spotty coverage, or when you have a question of why it seems that data is just not flowing. Easy to use, and even easier for you to find the answers you need. T.

Not sure what does it do other than providing a bit of information. I actually lost network connection more often after installing it...

Seems to help maintain or recover cell tower connections, and will restart radio...

Difficult to understand. Didn't do a single thing to help my network issues.

Works great. Useful for resolving cell connection issues.

works good, but needs improvement to view lte bands/frequency while in carrier aggregation.

Great app to diagnose cellphone deadzones in my house.

dont really know what it does other than find the band my phone uses in order to buy the correct signal booster. TY.

Has worked great on my other phones however no longer able to determine the band my Razer 2 is on. Have sent log files and email to developer with no response so rating it a two now.... appears to be a dead app, no response from developer about the issues.

no support for android 9 and t mobile bands like before. Today it magically worked lte bands are back then went away

could you develop the app more in the direction to improve & tweak the lte connection like eg higher the ping etc.? and with 🔋 & device resources friendly?

Very useful for mapping and comparing carrier deployments.

Shows a fair bit of useful information but it shows Band 71 towers as unknown band currently. The tower GPS location works fine in Android Oreo but seems to be broken in Android Pie and shows GPS as N/A. It needs an update..

Very powerful and very helpful for in-building signal boosters. Indispensable for 5-band systems. Good, clean format, as well.

i knew very little about wireless technology i still dont but i know more than i did before i loaded this app. easy to use but still learning the terms and i beleive info i can pass to the developers can be a bennifet too all.

great app! does exactly what its supposed to! was a a huge help in locating the best location in the home for our LTE signal boosters.

Android Lexus 5 . Not big on apps but this app fulfills it's purpose. Complained numerous times to cell provider about dropped calls and bad receiption.Built in LTE (recommended) never worked properly on the phone. Switched to 3G along with this app and signal now a strong 3 & 4. Thanks!

At times, too technical. I thought it would do more to support 4g.

Didn't do the basic thing it would most likely be downloaded for.... Tell you what band your phone is using at the moment.

Very very useful information, user-friendly interface.

really great app for tracking cellular towers & strengths.

its good but sometimes it just says 4g and wont tell me the band in use, is that for higher bands like 66? i know originally they didn't go that high, but then new bands came from old satelite tv refarmed for lte

What happened? It's stopped working after I updated my phone to Android 9.0. Any workaroud???

Definitely helps with signal. Being a long haul truck driver, my network info is very helpful. Great app.

I really like the app so I have some factual basis for complaining that the LTE coverage of my new carrier is not as good as I had with Verizon.

Very useful for finding the LTE band in use by providers. I am in some remote areas where i am considering a repeater.

Awesome app, just what I needed to figure out the correct frequency for indoor repeater antennas!

Full of information and helpfull hints. Some local information was still missing that I need, but it seems to be in development so that may come.

Excellent app. It gives a lot of useful information

Useful app that shows me the signal quality in my home. Really helpful when choosing between 3G and 4G!

Great app, it really works well, highly recommend if you want to know more what band your phone is using.

This software has an switch on cell to up gsm antenna (see on desibel). But dont hqve support in my country where the cell iam switch (gain, amplitudo, frequecny, beamwidth etc)

Great app to check if a phone supports the LTE bands I expect, especially for custom ROMs. Ready to use.

Dont think this works with Tmobile band 71. Reports it as band 2.

yea its good but one thing if it have an option radio signal reset when network gone... and it had a lte band only then its become very good...

The app is very useful but has the awesome gift of constantly crashing/rebooting my phone (LG G5).

Easy to install and use. It helped in selecting a signal booster for our mountian home

Good app, but doesn't correctly identify the frequency in use on LTE band 66.

Good tower locator! Best LTE app!

I've been throwing a rooted Samsung, while having fun with the teleohony settings, and it's performed like a champ. Well don'e.

does exactly what it says it does perfect for my needs

I needed to know which band T-Mobile broadcasts on in Bluff, UT. Mystery solved as soon as I downloaded this app. Amazing!!!

Great help to select a booster!

Awesome, this app tells you info on the LTE band your using. Also the apns currently be used for data, text, or hotspot. Cool, thx

Great app! Helps me to better understand how connectivity works between my carrier my Android phones.

there's a bug after the update, plz fix it soon! updated: the developer is really good and the bug has been solved!

crashes constantly now since updating today, even after data clear/reinstall. was fine before this update. I love this app please fix!

Not able to view anything on Android Pie! maybe system restrictions , Developer need to work on this.

Use to work well on my S6. Now, on my S8 it is showing a 6GHz unknown band.

This app works great! Finds 4g lte signals for you never loses the signal. Finally a app that works in this department. Recomend to everybody.

this is the fix for slow speed i tried it and it was the best thing that i have ever done to get faster data.

Shows 1 notification in icon badge but I can't find what it is directing me to. How do I find the message regarding the badge notification? Uninstalling. Not user-friendly.

Very helpful when I installed my phone booster!

Works great for figuring out what's in your area and in what direction!

It easily finds band number and signal. Great and useful app.
