LTE Discovery is a powerful signal discovery and analysis tool with many advanced features and customizations available.

Key features:
- Identifies LTE band for Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and several other countries (support for more carriers added with the crowdsource feature and user aid)
- Identifies EARFCN and Band for any country/provider when using a Qualcomm processor and ROOTED
- Live band identifier and signal data in the notification bar
- Refresh cell radio (reset data connection) to connect to best signal available* (Note: Google added restrictions in Lollipop and above, so it may require root or be unavailable)
- Automatic refreshing of mobile radio for different conditions
- Alert notification for LTE bands and GCIs (connected and disconnected)
- Save LTE logs
- Automated visual logger (Sprint + Pro only)
- EARFCN band calculator (range and precise UL and DL frequencies) (Pro)
- Wide range of settings to customize your experience (Pro)
- Advanced LTE, 4G, 3G, GSM, CDMA data (GCI, PCI, TAC, RSRP, RSRQ, band, EARFCN, frequency)

- This is an advanced app with some features specific to only some devices/carriers. Many thanks to the community for the support and the questions and feedback.
- "Best signal available" doesn't mean this app can make LTE appear where there is none. There is no such thing as an "LTE signal booster" app, what actually happens is forcing the device to search again for the best signal rather than staying connected to an older, possible stale connection.
- Not all devices/carriers are supported for LTE bands and other advanced signal data. These are limitations of those devices.
- At this time, the in-app map is only used for showing current location. Though, Sprint+Pro users may have more feature. Support for more carriers is currently in active development.
- From user reports, Verizon sometimes provides tower location, but they are typically inaccurate.

If you work in the industry, feel free to email us if you have any knowledge that may be able to help us. (Our email can be found in-app)

By resetting the mobile connection, you can fix many common network related issues like: continuous low signal, data disconnection, poor call quality, signal instability, and more. You could also fix these issues by restart/reboot your phone, or you could just let LTE Discovery reset your radios in a few seconds. But, better signal quality is not a guarantee, especially if you are in a carrier zone with little coverage.

RATINGS: If you like this app, please support us by rating it 5 stars and helping with a +1, or let us know how we can improve the app. We are always working and striving to improve the app.

SUPPORT: If you notice any problems, please use the "Send debug email" option in-app and provide us as much information as possible about the problem and how we can recreate it.

requires following permissions on your android device.

approximate location (network-based)
Allows the app to get your approximate location. This location is derived by location services using network location sources such as cell towers and Wi-Fi. These location services must be turned on and available to your device for the app to use them. Apps may use this to determine approximately where you are.

precise location (GPS and network-based)
Allows the app to get your precise location using the Global Positioning System (GPS) or network location sources such as cell towers and Wi-Fi. These location services must be turned on and available to your device for the app to use them. Apps may use this to determine where you are, and may consume additional battery power.

Been having serious issues with the app. If I treat to reset the signal in the discovery menus it continues to spin over and over without stopping. Does not do the countdown like before. The only way I have been able to stop it is by uninstalling and reinstalling. But it keeps going back to this issue! Sad because it worked so well for a few months!

  2. Craig Ferguson-avatar

My biggest issue with all of these tower finder apps is that every one I have tried point to a completely different tower than the other apps. Seems like nothing is consistent. Also,it does not give you a bearing to the tower you are supposedly connected to. Just an arrow which who knows what that is pointing to. All in all, I have yet to find an app that is actually useful in this category.

Still waiting for long promised LTE map. Why does arrow keep pointing to false signal from non existent towers? It would be good if it could pinpoint what signal direction is and what band in it is.

  5. Jas Mack-avatar

It does everything they say it does. Its's a good app. I bought the pro version. The app gives me the resources to stay connected to a RF signal even if there is no LTE in the area, it will find a RF, channel or band that my carrier uses so I can keep using data. Don't worry about downloading it. I personally have not found any fault, extra use or abuse of the permissions I have granted everything about this app works for the intrest of the user.

  6. Jeremy Jones-avatar

Not syncing to my phone and no number to contact anyone on behalf of booster. Directions and options are inadequate and not user friendly in my opinion.

  7. Kevin Buchholz-avatar

Direction is always wrong. Only useful feature I have is the frequency but the direction arrow is always in the same spot. Not useful for pointing an antenna.

  8. Pj Jp-avatar

It has definitely helped me as I tune my outdoor repeater. I gave 4 out of 5 because randomly it doesn't show quantitative data when opening. Closing it doesn't always fix immediately but then it begins to work. Maybe its something with Android. Overall this is a great app, thoughtfully designed. So good I purchased it.

  9. Seth Conklin-avatar

Network Cell Info Lite is better. Actually has a map that shows you where the towers are located.

  10. SHAWN D-avatar

Quite convenient app for forcing LTE connection if you are in an area where your device receives a weak LTE signal, and tends to repeatedly drop to 3g etc. (so long as you have root.) Provides alot of other info about your cellular signals as well. A feature I'd like to maybe see in future update would be ability to sort/group the LTE logger by band,PCI,GCI,network, etc. on top of color code

  11. Belinda Brandt-avatar

A bit complex but that's probably unavoidable in a technical app like this. Provides all kinds of details about your cell signals. My only complaints are that it drains the battery quickly (again probably unavoidable) and sometimes it needs to be stopped & restarted to get it going again.

  12. Ed Shepard Jr-avatar

This app provides a lot of useful information especially to those of use who are into technology. I used the information to choose the required cell signal amplifier for my rural location. I'm looking forward to the map section to be completed. Keep up the good work!

  13. Lee A. Davis-avatar

Since going from the 3G to the LTE 4G network, my cell phone signal has been extremely unreliable. This app has been phenomenal in tracking the signal strength.

  14. Judy Ulchinsky-avatar

Needs a tutorial to support all the info it provides, but it helped me work with Verizon.

  15. Cody Callicotte-avatar

    Cody Callicotte

Very informative and I'm truly pleased with the results of increasing my LTE frequency.

  16. KATHY HUNT-avatar

Excellent tool. useful and easy to use. Just what I needed in the area I live in. We have internet access only via cell tower signal, but actually do not have cell service here at home. To date we are in the worst speed zone in USA at 3gb. The bottom 3 percent in the US.

I suppose the app is working don't know much of what it is suppose to do,I was hoping it would help boost my Signal I'll give it time. Overall it seems to be doing something I'll give it 4 Stars mabe later I can give moer stars.

I have used this app to resolve some questions about our lan. The information I received from this app is thorough and has been a big help in managing our bandwidth usage. Thanks for creating a useful app that delivers real time information about the network.

  19. Al Culbertson-avatar

App lets me know signal strength wherever I am. Also helps to aim an external home antenna.

  20. K Lee K-avatar

Great app but the overlay will not show after a period of time I must re download tht app again for it to work .please advise thank you.

  21. John Morfit-avatar

Great LTE & GSM/HSPA info. Estimated cell location is not accurate, tho.

  22. Byron Robertson-avatar

    Byron Robertson

My phone is acting somewhat better but faster still dropping signal time to time though.

  23. daniel hill-avatar

App has to be force stopped and restarted occasionally to display any cell info but other than that no issues.

  24. Warren Deutsch-avatar

Not understanding exactly how this app is working in conjunction with the antenna. Mostly trial-and-error I guess?

  25. tony aguirre-avatar

Great App!. First, I like the fact that you can have your phone's signal rate, strength, and Cell location etc., with the app's overlay ability on the top of your phone's screen at any transparency of your choosing. Second, I like all the many signal metering choices, or options you can apply, or choose to monitor at any given time rate. *Tip; Besides just clicking on and off, you must know that behind those choices there are many, many more options to choose from i.e., you must click on the option's link in order to get behind and open up these many more options. To the developer (s), fantastic job! Please keep up the good work, and develop others.

  26. Keith Logmann-avatar

Very useful app when you need to troubleshoot problems with your WiFi/Mobile Data connection.

  27. Gloria Barrett-avatar

works great!! I'm using the free one well worth upgrading! where I'm located no service works good outside nothing inside unless you press your head in certain windows...mainly the bathroom and only get a bad reception but keep calling back to check on's windows ter it's to cold to go out at night and try to talk. Awful but had tried rated phone services to signal boosters apps ex.. one thing left I hear they are cell phone home antania's then some say there not???

  28. Richard-avatar

Completely useless. The arrow that is supposed to point to the nearest/strongest tower instead points to me 80% of the time. When i do get it to point away from me, if I turn 10° the arrow turns 60°. It refuses to point in one direction no matter how I hold or turn my phone. I was trying to align an antenna, but this app made it worse instead of better.

  29. Phil Tarbush-avatar

Awesome app!! Ive had this tablet since 2017 and just got showed by this app a lot of things i didnt know! This baby is purring now! Got done with my tablet, now im going to put it on my android phone and make it new again too! Thanks Guys!!

  30. Nate Heinen-avatar

Lots of setting options, not much explained, but I could always just research that myself. I'll update my rating as I use it more.

  31. aurelio rosales-avatar

    aurelio rosales

According to this app there are 0 towers near me and that im not connected to one. Something smells fishy...

  32. Andy Webb-avatar

Works very well with my A20 except I paid for the pro version and I don't know how to get all the functions

  33. Mat Perry-avatar

The app works but it crashes when start my phone. This is happening on my motorola devices. I wish it had a tower map for the major four carriers. Otherwise, i like the widget. I am a sprint customer who has a magic box. Their tower is pushing band 41 @ 2668 mhz and the magic box pushes band 41 @ 2518.4mhz - so it is helpful for me to figure out whether the phone is conncecting to the box or the tower.

  34. A UU-avatar

Nice app - I paid the upgrade to support the app. May I ask for the dev to look at; 1) adding vibrating alerts (mainly for connected and disconnected signals? 2) Offline/ on device logging with date & time stamping for selectable events such as signal (connected, disconnected), airplane mode, signal type (4G etc), band, signal strength? (ideally exportable in csv) Apologies if these features are already implemented and I've overlooked them.

  35. John-avatar

The map does not work. Half the time the signals screen does not work. I am on band 12. It is always showing either band 6 or 66.

  36. Tx Slinger-avatar

It is exactly what I needed to help me find a nearby cell tower.

  37. Shriram Chakravarti-avatar

    Shriram Chakravarti

This a great app! Gives so many many details on the network you are on. Its truly fantastic for a power user or any technical troubleshooting. Hats for to you guys for doing a stand-up job on this app, i am going to spread the word around. Highly recommended.

  38. Dave W-avatar

OK app does not seem to work for the Galaxy S7 on Verizon. Shows what band I am on, but that's about it. No GPS, says that I am 17000+ miles from the tower lol Update: Have used the app for a while now, not as useful as I thought it would be, kinda wish I didn't buy it now. Is it possible to still get a refund? I think it's a good app for other phones, just not mine, galaxy s7 is probably too old.

  39. Jereman24-avatar

This app works great. Very smooth running and non invasive.

  40. Sam Stone-avatar

Used to work for my need but now it no longer shows any data.

  41. Shawn D-avatar

Works good when rooted, lots of good info. One thing I would like to recommend to developers to maybe include in a future update, is the ability to sort (or "group") the LTE LOG by the band, time, provider, etc., in addition to the color coding of the log.

  42. Ken Lien-avatar

I like the layout of the information indicating my LTE frequency band, and signal strength for both LTE and GSM. The best part is a floating yellow arrow pointing to the direction of the cell tower. I use this app to help me find the best location in my house to install a signal booster.

  43. A Google user-avatar

Really love this App! i live waaaay up in the boonies where my 4G coverage is VERY spotty, & even most of the time my data doesnt even flow thru & i have a hard time connecting at times. & now with this app, i have the LTE bars up on the top left corner of my screen. & they are ALWAYS full bars! its awsum! never again will i evr have spotty coverageORdata nevr flowing thru my phone! im givng this app a 5 star Rating! thank U developers!! i now have 4G LTE(Cuz of LTE bars) up here in the boonies!

  44. Ben Marquardt-avatar

I'm going to give this app 5 stars just because it's worked so nice in a short period of time. The devéloper does a great job explaining its features in a brief way that a user can take the time and go through it.. More to come later on this app for me after I get some cell logging accomplished.

  45. Trillville Will-avatar

    Trillville Will

This app by far is one of the best for signal info. I just wished there was a way it could display what the downlink and uplink bandwidth is for the LTE bands like for example 5, 10, 15 or 20 MHz channels.

  46. Wolfgardens Wildlife-avatar

    Wolfgardens Wildlife

For what it does this is a great application. Don't over expect from it. The data it provides is not what a technician would need, but it is way beyond what the average user would ever need. in reality the average user would only need a general idea, this app does far beyond that.

  47. Pamela PGH-avatar

completely messed up my wifi signal while it was doing its thing. it was perfect before I installed this app and the second it started its stuff the signal was gone. I know that because I switched back and forth after I installed it and used it, and zero signal. I uninstalled it and I'm still left with zero signal. do not use this app. bad news!

  48. Jacob Siggelkow-avatar

    Jacob Siggelkow

This app is great! Some feedback, battery drain is higher than it used to be. New LTE frequency recognition and support super delayed even following donations. Band 71 and Band 66 often times are not recognized and reported as a unknown.

  49. David Hoppe-avatar

Map is coming soon? Not soon enough! Wanted the app for pointing a signal boost antenna, will find one with a map that works.

  50. FRANK R-avatar

It doesn't work well with my Pixel 2 even after a couple of reboots.

  51. Rue U-avatar

still good. I bought this app maybe 6 years ago. whenever I'm using foreign network phones on my home network to test signal. since not all bars are represented the same. anyway good app. tho LTE map still says Coming soon. after 6-7 years? lol

  52. Vivek G-avatar

One request, if you could show LTE bandwidth(e.g., 5Mhz, 10Mhz, 20Mhz etc)being used, that would make this app even more good. Thanks😃

  53. Jason Farmer-avatar

This app provides plenty of options and tons of great information in an easy to digest format. You can get all this information in other ways but this is laid out in a compact, efficient and easily accessible way. This is what good software should do. Thank you guys for sharing your work.

  54. tom cassani-avatar

This app is probably one of the best to help you navigate spotty coverage, or when you have a question of why it seems that data is just not flowing. Easy to use, and even easier for you to find the answers you need. T.

  55. Heath Sockwell-avatar

Two words: Awesome Sauce! even w my unrooted lgg6! how have i not learned of this before now?! Thanks devs (found it on several mentions in help articles). Personal Request: a dedicated settings button in on main (middle) page. i play in settings so often this would be nice 😁 Thanks again! great app!

  56. Thomas Maher-avatar

Crashing my phone. I open app and have it grant root access and then it freezes and phone crashes to reboot.

  57. Mehmed Softic-avatar

Lacking a new graphical design and feel, it's just one of many reasons why I left this app behind. Hardly been updated in almost a year. No go for me

  58. Robert Nilges-avatar

Good app. Antenna direction and db rating so I know if my booster is doing what it's supposed too.

  59. dan doerk-avatar

No band 71. Loved this app on my iPhone. Android version only has a few working g features.

Very powerful and very helpful for in-building signal boosters. Indispensable for 5-band systems. Good, clean format, as well.

  61. Kam Yeung-avatar

Very useful app, can find your cell phone currently in 4G lte signals.

  62. James Ward-avatar

Best LTE Signal Detection available. A+. Now we need the map finished for the LTE overlay within the app. Once competed, there will be no competition. Great App! Only 1.99$ for pro, sweet.

  64. Nick Olson-avatar

Works great, offers best LTE info.

  65. James Vincent-avatar

since the latest security on the Huawei P20 the network number fails to show & i see signal bars in its place. Huawei phones are very forceful on closing running apps even if they are locked in recent apps or selected to manage manually. any advice?

  66. Jacob Brown-avatar

great app! does exactly what its supposed to! was a a huge help in locating the best location in the home for our LTE signal boosters.

  67. David Scott-avatar

Android Lexus 5 . Not big on apps but this app fulfills it's purpose. Complained numerous times to cell provider about dropped calls and bad receiption.Built in LTE (recommended) never worked properly on the phone. Switched to 3G along with this app and signal now a strong 3 & 4. Thanks!

Has worked great on my other phones however no longer able to determine the band my Razer 2 is on. Have sent log files and email to developer with no response so rating it a two now.... appears to be a dead app, no response from developer about the issues.

  69. Peter Gibson-avatar

Seeing other Connections stronger than the one I am on and resetting has been very useful. When we get the map it goes to 5 stars. Well worth the install. July 31 - stiil like it. Still hoping for map

  70. Thomas Appel-avatar

Great app with lots of information. Only thing I would add is improvements to the accuracy and better location information (which tower the phone is connected to would be nice).

  71. Eric Treacy-avatar

Has lots of great info you can't get from other apps. Doesn't have everything though, I have 2 other signal info apps that I continue to sometimes use. It will be great when the map feature works.

Shows a fair bit of useful information but it shows Band 71 towers as unknown band currently. The tower GPS location works fine in Android Oreo but seems to be broken in Android Pie and shows GPS as N/A. It needs an update..

  75. william bailey-avatar

i knew very little about wireless technology i still dont but i know more than i did before i loaded this app. easy to use but still learning the terms and i beleive info i can pass to the developers can be a bennifet too all.

Where to fims the band width frequency? Lte B40 transmitted in 10Mhz and 20Mhz ,how to find that? Share app option needed

  79. Al Bedford-avatar

Looks like you need to update your app to recognize T-Mobile's bands 66 and 71. Your app was showing band 4 for both when another app was showing the correct band.

  80. Aaron Baranoff-avatar

It works and allowed me to improve the signal strength around my home.

  81. John Greszcz-avatar

I really like the app so I have some factual basis for complaining that the LTE coverage of my new carrier is not as good as I had with Verizon.

  82. A Google user-avatar

Very useful for finding the LTE band in use by providers. I am in some remote areas where i am considering a repeater.

  83. Domz Fernandez-avatar

Its very useful. Has a lot of details displayed than the others. No ads and free. Thanks

  84. Robert Juarez-avatar

Glad i found this app. Has exactly what im looking for. Displays which band you are using and where the tower is located.

  85. Alice Baker-avatar

This app is allows you to get an in-depth read on signals, their strengths, and all available cell towers and satellites within range. Must have app!

  86. William Reilly-avatar

I am gonna use this when I head to my camp site in WV , there is no phone signal there and it drives me crazy...hopefully this will help...any suggestions on how to get a good phone signal or a booster...?

  87. Tom-avatar

this does nothing more than a reset in settings they keep saying they are gonna get a map so when? this app sucks and i paid 2 bucks a month hoping it might help. I am going to have to ask for a refund.

  88. Dawg Price-avatar

Needs work as a useful tool, but overall great app.

  89. A Google user-avatar

Useful app that shows me the signal quality in my home. Really helpful when choosing between 3G and 4G!

  90. A Google user-avatar

Great app, it really works well, highly recommend if you want to know more what band your phone is using.

  91. A Google user-avatar

its good but sometimes it just says 4g and wont tell me the band in use, is that for higher bands like 66? i know originally they didn't go that high, but then new bands came from old satelite tv refarmed for lte

  92. sim abu-avatar

I just downloaded, is nice and I want study it more but for what you said about the app is 100% . LTE ? Am using Infinite Hot 4

  93. Frank Vermunt-avatar

Great app to check if a phone supports the LTE bands I expect, especially for custom ROMs. Ready to use.

  94. peter Elijah-avatar

This app does the real work. Anyone who rates this app with less than 4 stars is a dishonest entity. Look! it's worth downloading. To the developer, I salute you!

  95. ALL IN 1 FOR U-avatar

yea its good but one thing if it have an option radio signal reset when network gone... and it had a lte band only then its become very good...

  96. Mark Kamichoff-avatar

Fun tool, but needs updating - new LTE bands are shown as "-1" with frequency 6700 MHz (i.e. bogus).

  97. mind alien-avatar

could you develop the app more in the direction to improve & tweak the lte connection like eg higher the ping etc.? and with 🔋 & device resources friendly?

  98. Oscar Lopez-avatar

Great way to find your band and get a booster
