Hello SoloDevGuys, everytime it says that there is a problem with Internet connection. I'm from Azerbaijan, I didn't face same problem with other Play Store apps. I get same problem with Sololearn - Learn programming for free app. I couldn't join with Google or FB account too. I'll change my review...

the hard way Like other people have commented... dont download this app. It will just waste your time trying to get you to download a different app. You cant even progress after a certain point because of adverts in the way. Developers are jokers

  3. Andy Osewalt-avatar

    Andy Osewalt

3 Too much hassle to install 2-3 apps. Don't know when it will make me pay and I'm not big on subscription models. Should have been straight forward and honest with us from day one. This is only a trial in disguise.

  4. othmane dahi-avatar

the hard way pdf a very good application with a very friendly and helpful community . You better install directly the main applicatiom Sololearn because you will need to install it later! The application contains a decent challenges and problems as well.

  5. Timothy Wan-avatar

    Timothy Wan

3 the hard way pdf Do not download this app. It is impossible to do the quizzes as there is an ad at the bottom for their new app that prevents users from progressing. If you want to learn, you will have to download their new app, which has the same exercises, but seems to have lessons for other coding languages? However, if they wanted us to use the new app, the least they could have done is deleted this app, which is essentially useless now. It may be Thanksgiving break but I'm not very thankful for this app.

  6. Abhijeet Kumar-avatar

3 free I was not able to go past basic module as the last section had an ad to download some other app. Without completing last section it will not move to next module.

3 the hard way Keep getting bugged to install their new app which interviews with the learning. Not only that but I could not complete the first module because of the install button for the app interviers with starting the module! New app installed? No thanks I'll try another app to learn.

reddit Provides great instruction but the definitions are lacking a bit. For this particular example, floating point numbers are explained in a later lesson but the definitions given is a bit lackluster. For example when you tap on the link for the word 'float' the definition that pops up in the dialog box is 'A floating point number'. The explanation of what a floating point number is missing. Other than that this app is amazing for learning python.

  11. Solace Creat-avatar

    Solace Creat

Amazing app. I really would give 5 stars but a lot of the concepts aren't explained well enough to grasp or jump concepts you need to know in order to complete a task, but weren't yet explained. The great thing about this app is the comments sections where people explain the concepts more efficiently, so it still works out great. I have no excuse to not learn. This miracle of technology and the generosity and effort of the app devs takes all excuses away. I *will* learn to program in python. And this app will be a great foundation.

Awesome experience with this app, even i can't imagine that all the computer languages are there in a single app. All the features are just outstanding. The very good thing I like about this app is this there are theory, task, and certificate. Also u can explore others programme that they had made using this app. Good job team. Great work. Keep it up guys.

  15. justposted-avatar

Great up to a point The set-up to get you learning basic concepts is nice, but once you get beyond basic operators such as multiplication it insists that you sign up for SoloLearn at a monthly rate. I'd happily pay a one-off fee for Python, but a monthly fee makes it impractical as a reference host coding. Also have to step through all modules from the very beginning, so can't skip to something you are interested in and therefore frustrating unless you are a total beginner.

  16. Andrew Kyser-avatar

    Andrew Kyser

The first section is great, but then you can't move forward. This app claims to be the whole course, but then forces you to move to the main app for everything after the first section. It doesn't help that the other app refuses to let me sign in because it doesn't believe I have internet connection. What a waste of time.

  17. sai nath-avatar

I completed first 12 lessons of the app just to find that last one is locked, and all other modules are locked until I complete first module. Why be like that?

  19. Melissa De La Cruz-avatar

    Melissa De La Cruz

The comments section is priceless in learning and makes it fun to learn. I wish it had option for more practice exercises to reinforce what we learn within the lesson. My only complaint is that it has stopped my lesson and Requires me to login and use the "newer version" available. Why is it different than an update and not listed in my updates!?

  20. A Google user-avatar

    A Google user

I dont know why it redirects me to another app. I dont mean the app is useless but what really creates the problem is that the app blocks me from continuing the studying the other parts. I have been a regular user of apps developed by SoloLearn since long time. It wasn't so annoying previously but dont know what is going on.... I will give ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ as soon as the bug is debugged.

  21. Suseel Jai Krishnan-avatar

    Suseel Jai Krishnan

The app is really good for beginners. But it troubles me everytime by insisting to install "all in one" app, which spoils the learning mood. Moreover, I couldn't toggle back to the old lessons. Is this a glitch or is it being put on purpose to boost the installations of other apps? I truly don't know what rating to be provided for the best learning experience and worst toggling experience. So is 3 rating.

  22. Pop Harry-avatar

It would be a great app if it was possible to do the quiz at the end of first chapter. It simply doesn't allow you to do the quiz because of the ad.

As someone who has struggled with maths and who is just curious to see if maybe I can learn to code, so far I'm very happy with app, explanations are very clear and concise, besides, having the community further explain things, makes it even easier to understand. I'm just in the beginning lessons, but I'm pleased with the content. Let's see how far I'll make it.

  26. Michael Hudson-avatar

    Michael Hudson

Garbage. Installed only to receive message asking to download the new version despite having just installed it one day earlier and there not being an update in play. This message prevents you from continuing to access material.

  27. Mach Fiver-avatar

    Mach Fiver

Very simple, easy to grasp, & well explained modules. Even though the lessons explain different operations well it doesn't explain how to write meaningful code that you would use in order to make a useful application. for example make a calendar app for windows or android. Or teach lessons on the types of applications where you would use python to create them. Or types of applications that you wouldn't want to use python. Once I have gotten further along I may find that these areas are covered and I will adjust my review accordingly.

  28. Mark Pasichnyk-avatar

Uncompatible with new Chromebook?! This application tells you to download new application, hovewer my newest Lenovo chromebook somehow not compatible with it (does not allow to install).

  29. Myles Fennell-avatar

    Myles Fennell

This app is very good for beginners and professionals as there is so much to learn. With different languages like java. It's easily and nicely layed out so it does not look to complex. The guides are well written as you are given questions to answer to see of you know and comments are available so you can chat with random people if need be l.

  30. Mike Knott-avatar

    Mike Knott

description of how things work need a lot of work, but thank god for the community in the comments section who help massively with the understanding of each section. The context could do with a rewrite using some of these comments/ points of view/ description. Parts of the app also focus to much on the answer and not how sections work eg I want to learn how python works, not be able to work out 3 to the power of 5.

  31. Nathan Rasmussen-avatar

It's a decent app but you have to start from the very basics. There needs to be options for intermediate or advanced.

  32. Adam Cleere-avatar

    Adam Cleere

Not bad at all. I like that it gives better explanation as to 'why' the code works as it does. Better than Grasshopper. There, you just get good at following directions without learning any reasoning behind it.

  33. Matthew Wright-avatar

    Matthew Wright

at first i was impressed with the simplicity of using this app to learn the foundations of py but the developers have killed support for it. the app forces you to upgrade to a "new" version after completing module 1. the new version is a separate app which is the same content but riddled with huge ads in each lesson.

  34. D Ogma-avatar

    D Ogma

This app is great but is ruined by constant pop ups urging me to move to the new app. While this app is small and does just what I need, the promoted replacement is MASSIVE and has many features I don't want. I'll not be switching apps as the storage requirements are ridiculous. If forced to migrate or if the prompts to switch get any more invasive I'll likely just uninstall and find something from a different developer.

  35. A Google user-avatar

A handy app, which lets you learn new concepts of a programming language and challenge yourself with different quizzes. Supports offline learning, which is always great, say, if you're in roaming. Has a Q&A forum, which lets users interact with each other and learn even more. 10/10

  36. Eitan Tovey-avatar

    Eitan Tovey

Great app, very understandable, and best of all, it's not pushy. You can spend as little as 5 minutes on the app and enjoy yourself, or you can sit for hours having a blast. Best of all, it's also being productive!

great app but there is one problem. it is showing 'a new version of this coarse is available'and is not letting me open any other section below the first row. when i click on the green button saying open app it opens solo learn and i have to do the lessons on the sololearn app online.i want to learn python offline but it is not letting me. this app is capable of five stars and i will rate it five stars if this problem is fixed

It's a great app for you to learn anywhere and anytime you want. However, not sure why, it says that "new version is available" and I need to install it in order to continue, but playstore doesn't seems have an update.

  40. A Google user-avatar

*Spam* it's a shame that when you go to the middle, you are obligated to switch to another app. If you do not, it just stays in yhus state and you are blocked to countinue. This haloens when you go through the Basic and reach Else statement. I am sorry a con not give it Zero stars(at least don't know how) p.s i really do nit get it how this app has such a high score. Very disappointing.

  41. Olawumi Adeyemi-avatar

This app is good , its quite alright but why is it impossible to access the quiz and move on to the next module? Is it compulsory to download thee new app? I'm okay with this one. The app is good, but it just doesn't give room to proceed to the next without downloading the new one.

  42. Divyanshu Raj-avatar

dont download it only allows you to progress to a certain level than it wont allow you to continue unless u install a newer app ... and forget about that progress youve made because if you're like me and just written a bunch of letters in the login form you wount be able to remember what u wrote

The only reason for 4 stars and not 5 is I think the "unlock answer" and "compete with friends" part is a bit pointless because im just here to learn Python not compete with friends necessarily. Great app overall so far!

Midway through the course, it told me there was a newer version, and wouldn't let me keep using it. (Newer lessons were inaccessible.) The new app requires me to log in again. Not a fan of this UX.

Really this app is a shame in name of coders it continues to another app is says to install another which has more adds than content. The teaching way is really basic and idiotic even other websites are better like w3schools this app treats us like a kid, a very new person and you cant go forward and search stuff its slow and useless

This app is a bait to get you to download their “all in one” app that has significantly higher demands for permissions. It could have been a great learning tool but I advise against bothering to use SoloLearn now. Its true you need a pc to learn a new programming language in a propper way, but to be able to learn on the go , in the train or during your break at work .. is wonderfull . and thats what makes this app special . derickt content and clever questions . social media offers you nothing ..

I am getting an issue that says a new version of the app is available. And when I am clicking on install . There is a small white screen and I cannot use the app anymore. Please fix this issue.

I'm enjoying it so far! Nice to have a hint button that has a price of XP points. So your not so quick to give up. And ask for the answer.

Was doing fine now i have a message saying we have updated this course... Go to the other 'updated version' and i have no progress so my choice is to start again or quit as i am unable to continue on the original. THIS MAKES THIS APP USELESS, devs please sort this or just remove this app. Save peoppe from wasting their time..

I've tried tons of apps to learn programing, this is the most elegantly designed one yet. Really short but detailed lessons. Ensures you fully understand concepts. A must try.

Great for learning. Easy to follow and progress. Perhaps it should have quiz for people with previous knowledge so they don't have to start from the beginning

Was going good until, midway through the 2nd module, it forced me to install a "newer version" of the app from the developer to continue.

At a certain point you can't continue unless you download the new app which is not optimised and continues to break something on my tablet when ever I get it
