After I change phone to s21 Ultra, app crash nearly every time, I see Kodi graphic with loading bar and after that just black screen, nothing that you can do. Only option is to reset phone and try again...I've uninstalled it, deleted all folders etc. Tried few times still same - maybe 1 out of 10 times works properly.

19 is bad when using network setup. It breaks the database migration from 18 to 19. It freezes playback on Windows in the middle of a video playing and wont play correctly on linux (i get spazzing menus while video audio is playing. Pressing any crashes). Going to test it on android and see if i get anything different. Your video player engine is unstable. With the help of the forums, I was able to fix the database issue but had to wipe it out entirely in mysql, in order to get it working.

Perfect video player for both local and online video sources Edit: for those who says it now starts with a black screen and nothing else, try killing the app in tasks list first, then switch your phone's refresh rate from a higher number back to 60Hz, then start the app again. I hope KODI devs will soon start to address this problem since it is impacting more and more people with newer phones.

I have given 5 star purely based on having this app on my phone for many years being without a doubt much more advanced than any other default media player installed on most, if not all so called premium handsets. But to my disappointment, it doesn't seem to work on my new Xperia device? Just a black screen and when trying to start up using the Kodi configuration tool it says that the application can't be found. So I have given you 5 stars in advance with the promise that you will please fix.

I used to love this app. But now i am sick of it. Doesnt work, shuts down, closes unexpectly, freezes, & is nothing like the old Kodi. Sometimes newer is not always better. So I would really check the old codes that worked against the new codes that keep messing up.

After the first initial start following the installation, the app cannot be started anymore on my Samsung Galaxy Tab S7, it's showing only a black screen and nothing happens. Force closing the app doesn't fix the issue. With the previous version of the app I didn't experience this problem. Currently it is unusable on my device.

07-22-2021 Crashes all the time. Sometimes a minute in, sometimes every 20 minutes. Cannot stream anything anymore. Buffering is just a sign that it's about to crash. Worst of all, it doesn't keep my place in the media anymore, and it freezes *every* time I try to fast forward or rewind. So I give up. It's an unenjoyable experience for a program that just doesn't work.

Got the app to work. Thanks internet : ) "Adjust the refresh rate From Settings, search for and select Motion smoothness. Tap Motion smoothness again, and then choose your desired option. Standard refresh rate - A 60 Hz refresh rate. Use this if you want to save your battery life."

I just updated to Matrix, and now the app won't even open! My phone immediately receives a pop-up that says, "Kodi has stopped." I'm incredibly disappointed, as I've used it without any problems for years.

[Update] Unfortunately the current update didn't fix the below issue, so staying with 2 stars for now. I unfortunately have to agree with the negative comments. Though for me nothing broke insofar as it stopped working, Matrix has introduced an irritating behavior when playing songs from my music collection (on a NAS). Previously, when you went "Artist" and then clicked "Play" for an artist, where there are multiple albums in the library for that artist, it played album1, song1, album1, song2 ... album2, song1 etc. Basically as expected, I'd say. Now Matrix starts playing album1, song1 and then jumps to another album and another song. Haven't figured out the logic behind it so far nor did I find a setting to restore the old behavior. Which is quite annoying, as I want to listen to whole *albums*, not songs. E.g. Live albums.
