“Curse you, Google! Your KitKat update broke my SD card!”

Poke around the Android section of the Internet and you’ll hear something similar. Users are in an uproar because they updated their phone to Android 4.4 KitKat, and now the SD card support has changed. Apps no longer work, folks have problems with cameras and music players, and while everyone else is saying “Oh, yeah. That’s how it works now,” nobody warned them in advance before they grabbed that update. (By Jerry Hildenbrand posted on Android Central March 12, 2014)

If the above description suits your situation, this patch is born to save you!

Google has modified the default permissions for the external SD Card on Android 4.4 KitKat, which directly caused many of your favorite third parity apps lose read/write access to external SD card and became useless.

Problem you may have for third party apps after the KitKat Update:

* File Manager app can no longer create, move or edit files or folders on external sdcard

* Camera, Music or Video app can no longer save files to external sdcard or edit your media file saved on ecternal storage

* Previous paid or free app/game data saved on sdcard can no longer work or be accessed

* WiFi syncing to SD card is blocked

* Move apps to sdcard is blocked

* many other problems

Here we are providing a FREE, SIMPLE, and Ads-free app which helps you magically restore all your previous access to external SD card. Once this patch in installed on your phone, the third party apps can run nornal as before.

Notice:

1. This app requires Root Access and must grant Superuser Permission to use. (If your device is not rooted, please Google your device model root method and apply.)

2. We cannot recommend or give you direct methods to root your device, since root method varies from devices.

3. Please make sure you are having problem of reading external SD card on KitKat, or this app cannot help you with anything

4. Please make sure you have an external SD card (removable storage) on your device, for example, Samsung S 4. If you are using Nexus, then you do not need to install this app.

5. As is generally the case with all root modifications, you need to take all risk by yourself.

6. File Expert, the powerful file manager, is about to release a new version which will fix external SD card access problem very soon. Please stay tuned to File Expert update.

I have an LG G3 running KitKat and an Nvidia Shield tablet running Lolipop. Bought 64gb cards for each only to find Google changed the rules. Most apps that could be moved to SD still can be. App2SD works just fine. What can't be done: Individual files cannot be moved or written there. All those music and video files must stay on internal storage for now. I will give this a try once I root my devices. Peace..

Installed app and ran patch. Everything went fine. But then my phone started to reboot frequently. Not a time consuming "complete shutdown reboot", but it shows the boot screen, and then the lock screen, closing all apps like a fresh shutdown. Really irritating actually. Gotta factory reset my phone now -.- . PLEASE DO FIX! Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9505.

It is not often when app's hype matches its performance. I have a rooted galaxy note 4, and I was unable to save a newly created Microsoft word file to my external SD card. So I looked for and found this app to try it out. Once I installed and rebooted I tried to save the file again to my SD card. Lo and behold it worked perfectly no interruption. I am very pleased with this app

I definitely had high hopes for this app and for a second it almost worked. Downloaded the app and it actually worked, BUT everything that was deleted and/or edited, returned back to its original state. Meaning I needed to delete items from my SD card and using this app, it showed that it deleted it and space on the card was gained, but maybe a couple of hours later, everything returned.

I was having an issue writing to my external storage since I upgraded to KitKat-- namely with Titanium Backup and Airdroid. I ran this and within seconds after a reboot all of those problems have seemingly disappeared. Titanium Backup is currently backing up my phone and running flawlessly. This is exactly what I needed and clearly worthy of a five star rating.

Those making negative comments betray their inability and impatience to read instructions. Your phone must be rooted for the patch to work, and this is clearly stated. If you have headache and choose to take drugs meant for stomach ache, is your GP at fault?

I have an HTC Desire Bravo with 4.4.4 installed and after doing everything told by the tutorial, I still was having the insufficient space error from play store and with the patch I resolved the issue. Now I can keep installing more apps without getting the annoying error. Thanks a lot for taking your time.

Tried one of the other apps that said it would do the same thing, and it didn't work (at least with Titanium Backup). Decided to try this one and now third party apps are able to write to the external SD card on my RAZR MAXX HD with Kit Kat. Thanks heaps!

I had problem with writing to my SD card, installed this app and within seconds got it working! READ- for this to work you need KitKat 4.4, a ROOTED phone and allow the app to use superuser. Some say it's not working, they just don't read the description. 5 stars.

I replaced my sd card twice. Because everytime I copy files to it, they get curropted. This app fixed my problem. Thank you very much
