Reviews From google play store

When my devices can see each other through the murky haze that is my unconventionally configured LAN, this app is suddenly a rock star. Sending files, remotely controlling media apps, using your phone as a HID, there isn't much to gripe about. An app I would be happy paying for (honestly) and yet it is glorious FOSS. Also, it gives me something to brag about to my Windows friends. Worth it's weight in gold, that. 10/5 stars. Linux users, don't pass this up!

This is a very nice app. It works as it is described to work. It even work between 2 Android devices. Nice.

Works really well over wifi. I suggest not to enable notification plugin, because it can flood your desktop.

I was searching for a handy file sharing media other than usb cable for quite a time. Finally a great solution for my problem

Overall this has been the best experience I've had with mobile to PC communication. Windows tried something like this with their Windows Phones and it didn't work as intended. Eventually they had tried to incorporate Android devices, but I think that it was exclusively file transfer. Whenever I do a fresh install of Pop!_OS GSM Connect (the GNOME extension) is always installed, and this app plays very nicely with it. I've not ever missed a text or call while on my PC very nice job!

I really want to like this app, but it's way too inconsistent for me. The Windows build is supposed to be fairly stable, but it keeps dropping the connection between my phone and PC (and will sometimes both devices will say they're still connected to the other, but be totally unresponsive). Restarting the program on one or both devices only occasionally solves this. Also, I can't find a way to compose new SMS/MMS from the Windows program (I can only respond to existing conversations), and even though I've enabled the Contacts Sync plugin, all my SMS conversations are listed by phone number, not contact name. Does anyone have any fixes for these issues?

I have been 100% unable to receive SMS notifications since the app was removed and then added back. So sad. Yes, I've checked all permissions. EDIT: The app has been working perfectly since the last update. Finally. So good, in fact I'm trying to google the author of the app so I can donate some funds to them for their great work.

Its really really cool and does everything it says it does from what i know, but due to my internet it disconnects quite often (not its fault) but i would love it if it was able to find and have an option to automatically connect to other devices more seemlessly? But either way keep up the good work!

If you use Linux, and have an Android device or another device with Linux on it then KDE Connect is an amazing companion application to have, audio control, cross-device clipboards, it even works inside of a separate secure android user profile such as 'Island'. Great application, I can't fault it, I have given it 4 stars because improvements can still be made such as enabling full bluetooth connectivity instead of requiring some form of local network access. Other than that It's amazing :)

I Hope you're reading this and I want to say that the work you've done is very remarkable, this app has enabled me to share data between multiple devices without hassle, keep the good work up, and the feature request would be an exit button, I sometimes want to just get out while closing apps and this app runs in the background, Once again you're truly wonderful

It's an amazing way to connect with linux PC, but since some time the clipboard from my phone to laptop is not getting synchronised at all, though from my laptop to mobile, it's working fine. This bug is annoying as that is one of the most important feature as per my use scenario. Would be amazing if this bug is fixed.

I really like this app and I know this is probably more of a device issue, but on Android 10 it seems because the device's wifi turns off in sleep KDE connect also disconnects shortly after. I tried turning off optimization for KDE connect and also used the adb shell to set the wifi_sleep_policy to 2 which is never sleep. Really want to use the app but kind of at a loss. Thanks for the awesome work regardless!

I didn't expect the experience, wow! I just set it up and my wife called. The app automatically paused the music on my computer and resumed it after the call. Sharing clipboard works like a charm too. Must have for any Linux and Android user. BTW, I am using gnome, not kde, on my computer.

Runs pretty well but somes bugs should be highlighted : - The notification of file transferts sometimes never dissapear unless I force stop the app - The sms notifications never shows up on KDE desktop Furthermore, it could be great to integrate connectivity support between KDE desktop and KDE connect while running hotspot :)

This App has really helped me a lot in syncing my phones notification to my Kali Linux 2019.2 OS which is running on Persistence, the app has the capability of even remotely using Whiteboards, FTP Client (To transfer files within the network) and the PC Host, GSConnect, has the capability to remotely reply to messages when you have left your phone someone else directly from the PC; I would recommend this app for next usage.

The Plug-in Settings section doesn't get translated on phone's language change

This is an amazing app to integrate phone and desktop. It does everything I need without ads! I love the ability to quickly transfer files without the need of a USB cable.

Almost perfect but let see for how long, then I wouldn't hesitate to decrease ratings.

Whenever I try to acess files on my android device, the dolphin file manager always refused to connect by saying 'Could not mount device The error reported was : could not mount device filesystem' . Why this problem occurs ?? previous version of kde connect was working flawlessly then why new version is not working....

Suggestion: It should not show unread notifications from past. If I have 50 unread notifications from Gmail, it spams the notification tray every time I connect my phone. Edit: Notification on connection in 1.3.1 still floods notifications after connecting.

I'm experiencing a problem where the app keeps forgeting the paired device after it's been disconnected for a while even though I haven't cleared the app's data.

All is nice, but can you add Spotify control back, example as switch in settings. Because example in my second phone only 1 GB ram and is simply to use KDE Connect for change sound with out lags and long loading (Sorry my bad English)

A fantastic piece of software! There are bugs and not all features work, but still, it is indispensable.

The new storage location thing doesn't work on my tablet. It simply crashes the app when I try to add a location. Going to look for an old version, that actually worked Edit: the fix works. Thanks for that.

one of the best services I ever used. update... it still awesome to use but I'm having some issues on the plasma integration side (chrome community version) on Manjaro. it does not work at all.

This is a great app so i dont miss important txts that may come in on my phone while I'm on my desktop computer, BUT it only gets 2 stars cuz it FLOODS my desktop with txt notifications. I gotta click each one of them to clear it all. Makes me wanna turn it off!

Seamless Integration! Kudos to the developers for this brilliant piece of software. Would appreciate if media support for MPV player can be added.

Moved from Pushbullet and file transfers are 10 times faster and you don't have a size limit. On top of that you get muliti channel audio level management which works really well.

Great! I love the clipboard sharing.

Seamless integration with a caveat , multiple selections for transfer are sometimes failing , but single transmissions are absolutely smooth and the remote access is an extremely appealing feature

Great app. Used to use it with KDE plasma, now using with Gnome. Works as expected, great functionallity, little to no lag on remote input. No ads got to be appriciated these days.

Hoping to see the feature to use phone as a audio output device, or cast audio to phone. So that we can use a single headset that's connected to phone for both phone and computer's audio.

Very nice application and no ads are appreciated too. I've been using this app for a couple of months now and I love it. Great work!

I don't use KDE on my PC, so functions are heavily limited for me. Still, ringing feature is nice and file transfer is just perfect.

Super handy app, nice for when I'm just watching videos or movies on my PC,or streaming music to the Bluetooth speakers on my house firm my PC.

Best companion app for connecting android to linux pc.It works flawlessly for me, but it will pretty awesome if an option for casting phone's screen to the laptop is added in the upcoming updates.

If you've Android and Linux, you need it. Wish the multimedia control had volume + - buttons as well, slider can't get to the exact value.

The app is crashing when i add the filesystem exposure. And the connection to the system is also lost. It was perfect till yesterday

It is a must-have when it *actually* works... frequently, sharing clipboard between Kubuntu and Android cell phone does not work at all

Love it! Transfer files, use phone as input device, see text messages on desktop, etc. Another great reason to use KDE!

Flawless implementation of kde desktop and android. Love it

Useful app, actively developed, great for media control, shortcut mapping and light browsing.

No way to expose any part of filesystem from phone to PC, so no remote mounting. Sending SMS seems not work too. Android 9

Really good app, it makes really easy to control the computer remotely.

Amazing! And it literally Just Works(tm) too. I use it with my gnome and xfce desktops perfectly as well.

Voice typing option will be most welcome Thanks for this wonderful application.

Hmm, thanks plugin storage setting fixed. But, cannot mount storage in pc. Pie rom work perfectly, but on Oreo rom cannot mount in pc.

Even after the update everything works except trying to enable remote access to the phone storage.

I updated it yesterday and it can't find my computer! (P.S.: the second update solved it. It's working fine now)

Pretty good but having connectivity issues recently,so 4 stars now.

No Bluetooth backend. I can only use Bluetooth (no Wi-Fi here), will rate 5 stars if a Bluetooth backend gets added.

Is the clipboard functionality still available in latest version? Unable to transfer clipboard data with gnome m-connect extension on Fedora.

I think it needs a update because sometimes it just disconnect my computer randomly

This app very use full. But now remote input does not work properly.

No longer works in Ubuntu 19.10, changed distro to Fedora 31 and everythings working again 😁

Updated to 1.13 but the SMS syncing issues is not fixed yet.

Awesome app, I can't live without it! It makes things so much easier.

Mobile to laptop/desktop clipboard sync has stopped post android 10 update.. Please fix.

Great app, dev is keen on feedback, I could not live without this app.

Great app,and real change logs.

Great app. If you are a Linux user you should try it once.

This latest update has given me a bug. The mouse moves awkwardly

Very useful app, especially clipboard sharing.

It's absolutely AMAZING! You can do so much with it. Okay let me summarize: You want to use a file on your computer on your phone. Right Click: Send to phone. It will be im your downloads ordner very quickly. I transfarred a 1080p video of 1:30 length in a minute. Probably just at network speed. Awesome. Phone->PC just the same Now we get to more mindblowing stuff. If you share a link with your phone, a browser tab will open instantly. PC-> phone will open the right app for u. Its amazing.

Awesome bridge between Linux and Android. Big Thanks to the KDE Community.

Suitable to file transfer

Please add clipboard sharing function .

I've tried many Apps like this and they all have issues... But THIS APP! It just Works, everything is well integrated and everything just works so well! The only thing that could use some work is the design since it looks a lot like the Google Apps, but it should have it's own identity. And what really could use some work to make it more user friendly and intuitive is the Remote Input. The Mouse is awkward and the Keyboard not Fullscreen+Auto Landscape... Thank You for this awesome Linux App!

Works great on Solus Linux Gnome 3.34 Edition on Samsung Galaxy S9+

Clipboard sharing from phone to PC doesn't work in Android 10. ☚ī¸

Does as advertised connects your phone to your KDE. I primarily use the mouse control, and I love it.

This is an amazing app. But I feel lack of some feature which can be easily implemented. 1. sometime because of router configuration device is not showing. Is this possible to remove the requirement of connecting both device with same network. Is blue tooth based connection is possible. 2. Run command is not easily reachable. widget is not looking so good. 3. is it possible to share a terminal entirely. so that phone will work at additional screen for terminal based work.

Could be a usefull app but... it fails to copy-paste text between devices (eventually does but requires multiple attempts each time). I reported this on 2019-0 (KDE Bug Report #407837) but no action was taken by developers. Also I wanted an app to control my phone via PC, but got the opposite. Please add to PC version an ability to send text messages. Lastly, it would be nice to connect via Bluetooth for cases when WiFi/LAN is not available (i.e. outdoors or on the go). Thank you.

very good and efficient. the only thing I'd like to see is an "off" or "shut down" button to exit out of the app. I can't have this app running in the background and the dropdown menu at all times. I know that I can disable the persistent notification from the settings but I believe it stays running in the background even after unpairing. if I'm wrong, please enlighten me.

Fantastic all around. The only suggestion I could make is allowing the user to determine device orientation for remote input. My phone screen is very tall, for instance, which is not super helpful when using it as a trackpad. More width would be better, but that would necessitate being able to rotate remote input directions 90 degrees, e.g. All around amazing job though.

This is a great app. But on my Samsung galaxy s8 I can't view any of my past text messages. This is one of the main features that I want for an app like this. I would give this app 5 stars but because of this shorcoming I think a 3 is more appropriate. If the developers fix this, I will change my review to 5 stars.

I am a Linuxmint OS user on laptop. I am very happy with this App, because I have not seen such a facilitator App in the Linux mint/Ubuntu software centre. Some backlogs are there, but in a over of period it will set right. I want some features in this App. 1) SMS sending option is showing but Not working. 2) Mobile Contacts access and Calling facility through computer 3) Even easier way to browse the phone memory from the computer and vis versa, if possible. Thank you.

Don't bother trying to use this app for file transfer. It only gives write-only access. Totally broken. Oh and it refuses to mount the device altogether most of the time.

Add auto connect if saved device is available.

Please add an exit button to stop running on the background

Seamless experience. Instant text clipboard sharing between PC and Phone is amazing especially for copying links between devices Near instant photo transfers are awesome Being able to use my keyboard with my PC and phone is awesome Being able to use my phone as a mouse or keyboard is cool, and I have actually found uses for this Notification sharing is slightly clunky but still awesome to have. Responding to notifications that have a reply button is very cool All in all nothing short of amazing

Great app for gnome and KDE incredibly useful.

This app is truly great. Just make sure to set Android power saving exclusion correctly or it might drain your battery. One feature I'd like would be to be able to share to disconnected devices and have them delivered when the device becomes connected.

Works fast and great on Ubuntu

Fixed within a day, true service ;-)

love this app, but since the update on June 16 the app just crashes and can't be used at all. I've reinstalled the whole thing and makes no difference. Very frustrating!

I love the app, but I always have to uninstall after using it because Android tells me KDE connect is using a large amount of power. Even after unpairing and closing the app it drains power. I have to force stop it or uninstall to get ride of the power drain notification.

This is why I like KDE.They give users what they want. I wanted to mention a small bug: Play Button doesn't work in media controls. Pausing works though. Cannot play media after pausing it.

Fantastic. Could use some polish, but works tremendously well.

With the newest update Spotify is having a media control which it is not supposed have because spotify already has a separate media control of its on. The previous update has removed this control but the current update has made it appear again.

Great integration with Ubuntu!

nice application, help me alot during the day, i just miss the screencast in both directions. would be very nicer if it could screencast the android in linux desktop and the oposite, screencast the desktop in android.

Was a great app but quit working a month so so ago. This update did not fix. Sadly have to put neg feedback. EDIT: as requested tried new version 6/22/19, mobiles can see ea other but not the pc nor does pc see them. Pc has very old ver. 1.0 so not expecting much.

Excellent application the only thing that is missing is to transfer the audio from the PC to the cell phone (as if it were a speaker) and be able to control it from the PC. Thank you.

incredible! works seamlessly with my laptop - I can share the clipboard, use my phone as a remote input and vice versa, and it even works over bluetooth tethering!

Awesome App i love it. Best app for connecting your mobile with Laptop or Desktop.🤩🤩😍

I'll rate this app with 5 stars once they fix the bug with mounting fs. EDIT: BUG WITH EXPOSING ANDROID FS EDIT2: NOPE, IT DOESN'T WORK. IT JUST CRASHES MY APP EDIT 3: I have ES File Explorer installed and no it doesnt fix the issue EDIT 4: Latest update finally fixed the bug. HUGE THANKS.

The best utility app ever. But since last upgrade copying videos from mobile renders them corrupt and they only play for a while. Please check the issue

when this app works it works, but it also seems to have a problem opening my very large camera folder, leading to a permanent crash loop while attempting to transfer files or add a storage folder in filesystem expose

Touchpad doesn't work.

requires following permissions on your android device.

approximate location (network-based)
Allows the app to get your approximate location. This location is derived by location services using network location sources such as cell towers and Wi-Fi. These location services must be turned on and available to your device for the app to use them. Apps may use this to determine approximately where you are.

view network connections
Allows the app to view information about network connections such as which networks exist and are connected.

view Wi-Fi connections
Allows the app to view information about Wi-Fi networking, such as whether Wi-Fi is enabled and name of connected Wi-Fi devices.

allow Wi-Fi Multicast reception
Allows the app to receive packets sent to all devices on a Wi-Fi network using multicast addresses, not just your phone. It uses more power than the non-multicast mode.

download files without notification
Allows the app to download files through the download manager without any notification being shown to the user.

Allows access to the list of accounts in the Accounts Service.

full network access
Allows the app to create network sockets and use custom network protocols. The browser and other applications provide means to send data to the internet, so this permission is not required to send data to the internet.

read call log
Allows the app to read your phone's call log, including data about incoming and outgoing calls. This permission allows apps to save your call log data, and malicious apps may share call log data without your knowledge.

read your contacts
Allows the app to read data about your contacts stored on your phone, including the frequency with which you've called, emailed, or communicated in other ways with specific individuals. This permission allows apps to save your contact data, and malicious apps may share contact data without your knowledge.

read the contents of your SD card
Allows the app to read the contents of your SD card.

read phone state
Allows read only access to phone state, including the phone number of the device, current cellular network information, the status of any ongoing calls, and a list of any PhoneAccounts registered on the device.

read your text messages (SMS or MMS)
Allows the app to read SMS messages stored on your phone or SIM card. This allows the app to read all SMS messages, regardless of content or confidentiality.

run at startup
Allows the app to have itself started as soon as the system has finished booting. This can make it take longer to start the phone and allow the app to slow down the overall phone by always running.

receive text messages (SMS)
Allows the app to receive and process SMS messages. This means the app could monitor or delete messages sent to your device without showing them to you.

send SMS messages
Allows the app to send SMS messages. This may result in unexpected charges. Malicious apps may cost you money by sending messages without your confirmation.

control vibration
Allows the app to control the vibrator.

modify or delete the contents of your SD card
Allows the app to write to the SD card.
