* Encrypted by default.

    Suman Shrestha

It is providing the most essential feature that only premium apps provide. The time limit. Apart from that, its desktop accessibility is somewhat not that satisfying. Its desktop app is very disappointing and browser app utilizes a lot of resources as well as has multiple stability issues. Apart from these, Jitsi is very applicable for even small grades students, since no need of signup is required.

Jitsi meeting app is very awesome for the purpose of its creation. However, there is a challenge when it comes to control during meeting. The control as in muting the speakers from the host's end. This causes a lot of discomfort and noise during the meeting. I'm giving you 5 stars when this is resolved.

  3. Twisst Dom-avatar

    Twisst Dom

I love the idea and all my support for the guys developing Jitsi-meet keep on going. Things to improve: - battery consumption, my phone burns when using the app and therefore the battery starts going down at a speed never seen before. Probably because of encryption - video quality & speed, sadly it's miles behind zoom for example, I haven't had a single call without a lot of buffering, probably because of effective encryption as well but that's a fact

This application is great but it has lots off accessibility issue. that's why a blind person cannot use this application independently or also your website is not completely accessible for visually impaired person or any other disable person. Please solve the accessibility issues. I love using this application but due to an access ability. I cannot use all the features there in the application, I hope that you will definitely solve all the accessibility issues.

The App is good for conference calls and I love that, but I've experienced quiet a number of glitches using the App, especially during this period of pandemic when we need to reach one another from our homes. A lot of times when I connect to a meeting, I can't get an audio, the only mesaage I see is the on the chat option which is used as a back up, this situation persists after several attempts to leave the meeting and rejoin, I even restart the App but the same thing

  6. Ajith VJ-avatar

Best thing in jitsi is, you can view all participants in a grid view, clear voices, encryption, opensource, private messages, raise hand feature, join the call with a link, YouTube viewing, livestream...(Many PC only features like: background blur, screen share, call recording...) Recently I had a video call with 6-7 people. Two of us used this app and others used chrome or edge(new) in their PCs. We didn't test Firefox yet. But few users shared some issues of jitsi with Firefox in redit.

  7. Minh Tran-avatar

I had a good first call; but on the following ones I didn't have audio. It says: Failed to access your microphone. I could not mute/unmute myself. My correspondant said: you appear as "muted" ... Please help me un-mute myself. Or shut off Jitsi completely to start anew. Thank you for helping. It would be so un-fortunate to drop Jitsi because of this "glitch".

  8. Andrea C.-avatar

    Andrea C.

Battery drained in minutes and the device turned into fire! It basically does what it is supposed to do, but then... I can only use it for no longer than 20 minutes. I experienced the issue either with my Mac computer and with my Android phone. Please fix it!

  9. Brian Schaefer-avatar

    Brian Schaefer

Don't do it, at least not for Android. You have no control of the room name when it starts, the start time of a the meeting is immediate and stopping a meeting is unresponsive; causing me to wonder if it's just constantly sending video and audio. Counter intuitive operation. Just setting up is questionable.

  10. Dan W-avatar

    * Dedicated free clients available for all platforms. * Android * iOS * Windows * Mac OSX * Linux * Ability to login from browser or phone. * Encrypted by default. * No Registration or accounts needed. * No session time limits. * Open Source. * Optional: Ability to host your own server instance. What more can you want for impromptu video conferencing?

  11. Mark Elton-avatar

    Mark Elton

Easy, intuitive, free, no time limit. And if the others on your call use a PC, they don't even have to download the app- they just click on the link and connect through their browser. A real advantage for people who aren't confident with technology (like some of my clients!)

  12. Hebron Ramesh-avatar

    Hebron Ramesh

Every one should have mic control to avoid other users voice in their own speakers While using laptop speaker mic takes speaker voice and repeatedly speaking and filter for it automatically highlight the user who speaking currently and more network bandwidth for him this is more useful for the low bandwidth users and audio mixer setting for host to control voice level for each and every user in while conference adjust video quality for the network bandwidth instead of turned of

  13. Mohan V-avatar

    Mohan V

Very simple and easy application to have audio and video group calls. The good about it is that this app can be easily used by people who are not so much mobile tech savvy.

  14. Fendy LoveFaith-avatar

    Fendy LoveFaith

The UI is clean and simple. Love the feature to automatically name the meeting ID and the phone call. Please add automatically naming the participants so it will not always show "fellow jitser" maybe like Google "Panda Cat". Video quality is good but the audio still need enhancement. I prefer Audio call than Video call

  15. Douglas Jenkins-avatar

    Douglas Jenkins

I installed in my chromebook (android app) to test it out. I am only user, and only one involved. So when I give a name to my "meet," I get a pop-up requesting a password. I was never presented with an option to give a password. Forum has no answer for this occurance. Was looking for an option to Zoom... whelp this isn't a great start!

  16. Marten Müller-avatar

    Marten Müller

Especially at the moment this app helps our work flow tremendously! Connecting co-workers in the office with those at home. Really neat! And it's open source! No account needed. Just download it and go have a video conference. Just like that.

  17. Ryan Here-avatar

    Ryan Here

Jitsi works really well and has pretty much everything you need in a video conference solution. I would like to be able to see host streamed videos in the mobile app too and to be able to play video files to the conference as the host would be great too, but Jitsi does what many other vc solutions can't and doesn't consume all the bandwidth doing it

  18. Andreas Wallner-avatar

    Andreas Wallner

On the settings page it is impossible for me to enter the server URL I want to connect to (everything I tap into the server name field the keyboard shows for the fraction of a second, then it hides itself again and the textbox is deselected) making it impossible to use with my private server.

  19. SUJITH B KALLARA-avatar

The best open-source alternative for the insecure video conference app. I hosted a personal jitsi server in my office. Works perfectly like a charm. One thing I have to point out. This app is very power hungry. If developers can optimise this, then perfect. Thank you for providing the app.

  20. Web Notices-avatar

    Web Notices

Will not allow me to add my details on my profile via my android phone. When I try to do so, the keyboard momentarily pops up and then almost immediately drops back down, thus not allowing me to enter any info. Not a good way to be introduced to this app.

  21. AL ROD-avatar

    AL ROD

It's very straightforward and I like it. But I can't simply stop a call/meeting. The red button it's supposed to stop it just doesn't. I close the app and when I open it again, there's my face again. It keeps being on! Uninstalling

  22. TwIsT [S9N]-avatar

    TwIsT [S9N]

I recently deployed a Jitsi server in-house, and put it through its paces over the last few days, particularly with user load and desktop/application sharing. Jitsi Meet was use for each of my Android based clients, and also tested using Chrome (win64), and Chromium (linux-64). All worked flawlessly, fast, and desktop sharing was fluid even on Android clients coming in over 4G-LTE. Jitsi is now a permanent solution here.

  23. Phil Coul-avatar

    Phil Coul

Big bug. It is impossible to connect to the same virtual room with 2 devices in the same physical room because of a feedback despite muting one app microphone ! Otherwise, the app works well.

  24. Detlev Obst-avatar

    Detlev Obst

So far I've only used it to connect to my server using cell network and that's flawless. Also see all kinds of Funktionalität available in the Android app. Have yet to test it in a conference call but so far so great.🖖

  25. Akhilesh Singh-avatar

    Akhilesh Singh

Very good video conferencing solution. That too open source. I have cut one star for the betterment in the user interface and for improvement in its performance when more than 40 members join the meeting when the jitsi starts collapsing due to heavy traffic.

  26. Bernie-avatar

Anyone can kick anyone out of a meeting. You can even kick the host out and password lock it so the host can't return to his/her own meeting... Great app for trolls. No notifications either. None whatsoever. No one knows if your calling them or being called. Video quality is woeful even with 1 participant.

  27. Aidan Wansbrough-avatar

    Aidan Wansbrough

Has worked brilliantly for all sorts of applications, from virtual conversations with family and friends to hosting our church youth group during the current lockdown, this app has been very useful, thank you so much!

  28. Abby Nduta-avatar

    Abby Nduta

I think it's a great app, very clear, and no annoying time durations, you know like zoom's 40 minutes. However, on the app, the place to change the name is part of the chat? It took us a long time to figure that out.

  29. Nagato Pain-avatar

    Nagato Pain

This app caused trouble and my classmates too. The audio was delayed, it's also app towards my phone not going to work and I couldn't use it for several minutes. It caused overheating on my device.

When I host a conference call from my cell phone, my recipients can see me, but they can't hear me, even though my microphone is enabled. But when I host from my desktop, all recipients can hear me. If someone from jitsi can reply about this, I'll give 5 stars.

Please allow use (listen) Jitsi Meet app when screen is off! This is most disturbing and critical issue! Please allow to show "i" button for connection data - hard to understand, which server is connected and other data. Via history is now easy to switch between different servers. Please allow app version number to be copied easily.
