Reviews From google play store

It not only does its job perfectly, but also does much, much more! (background-recording camera, how'd that?) Unfortunately, the UI is an unbelievable mess. I'm not talking about the bad engrish, I'm talking about the labyrinth of menus and dialog boxes. The developer skipped the easy part Is this how it's done on Android?

IP webcam works good for a security camera. I like that I can connect from anywhere and see what is going on. It's very good at doing what it does. It has the ability to detect motion and take pictures when it determines that motion is going on. I've been using it for about a week now, but sadly I have to give up on it. Even though it has motion detection, it doesn't do me any good if it cant notify me when it detects that something is going on. It's not enough to just take pictures or video, they all do that. It needs to notify via text/email and let you know that something is happening so you can take action. It has a plug-in that is supposed to send you an email when it detects activity, but it is extremely unreliable and fails to send 90 percent of the time. Having said all that, if a webcam is all you are looking for, then give this a try. If surveillance is your main reason for having a webcam then this likely wont do it for you.

Great app, what a treat to have a free app that really does what it says. Did not have high expectations but I had everything up and running within minutes! As an android developer who has had the misfortune of working on a couple camera apps... very nice job. one minor question - if I turn on the audio response to motion detection, the audio seems to keep playing long after the motion detection timeout has passed. is this intentional behavior? I'd like to be able to just play the audio while movement is being actively detected.

I used this on my Nexus 6 to stream video out of a heating vent. I used the video to retrieve a lost tool. i would give it a 5 star, but the video kept slowly rolling pushing top to bottom. I am not sure if that was my phone or feature of the non-paid version. Either way, i get it sorted out, it'll be worth the $4.

I get "cannot decode the received image" when pressing "autodetect" in the windows app. This app worked before but no longer. I can access the camera on the website though. Edit: when i typed in "s" in the end of "http" i got the error "SEC_E_UNTRUSTED_ROOT". Seems like it's a problem with my phone after i was joking around with rooting... how sad.

Well, I can't get it to work. I can see the served web page on a client, but none of the options on that page produces any live video. The options buttons are there (flash, Java, JavaScript, etc.), there is an image of an empty Android home screen in landscape mode (correct date and time, correct battery charge amount), just no video. Both Android 7.0. uninstalling.

Easy to use and brilliant for turning the old phones you have into something useful. Has been rock solid after testing for a week and getting good quality output from the feeds over wireless. Still a lot of useful features like motion detection to play with but well worth the money for the pro version considering the Tasker interaction. Also the dev is incredibly helpful and responsive, such a pleasant surprise in times of faceless companies.

This app works really amazing. It uses a little amount of power from my battery. It has almost all things u can imagine for an ip camera. I hope custom notification title, content and icon will be added on the next update 👍🏻.

This app works amazingly. The developer is very helpful with some advance questions I had and enabled further function for me to use the app. My first question to the developer helped enable USB Camera's to function with the app. The second question was how to RTSP audio from the app. rtsp://ip:port/ulaw.sdp (audio-only), or rtsp://ip:port/opus.sdp (audio-only) where helpful to my application.

Nice app, would give 5 stars but keep getting an error on the greeting page: [Cannot get camera status! Some of the functionality might not work because of "error".]

I tried it only for a brief amount of time with a very underpowered Ace 2 and the streaming was much like a slide show with any settings. However it gets the job done and I'm thinking of using it to add various smartphones as security cameras at home.

it's pretty good, but the camera stops working completely when i close the app in the recents list. Isn't it supposed to run in the background?

Only records video at 1080p even though phone camera support 4K recording....the GUI is somewhat disjointed and features take some experimenting to figure out. The app is solid otherwise. Photos are 4K, why aren't the videos?

App is really great but sometime I wish for it to have button to capture photo and store it in network location somewhere. Taking photos from PC requires one hand to be on phone and one person to

It is one of the simplest apps for this purpose (and also one of the oldest I think). The only problem is that the feed 'randomly' stops showing the videostream. I have it plugged in power, stays at 100% always, disable all possible power saving features. The problem is not the app being killed, but the video just stops, blank canvas. I have the app in 'front'/open always. Any ideas?

Great app to turn an old phone into an IP based web camera. The one downside is that with it running in the background and the display off, it drains the battery even while plugged into a charger. Are there any suggestions to disable other apps running on the phone so it will keep charging? I'm running it on an old Samsung Galaxy S2 under Android 4.0.4. Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Love the app!! The features are awesome!! But when I use the HTTPS server it suddenly stops streaming and the server.

This is one of the best Android apps I have ever used. There are some glitches such as using for long time will crash or connecting from two phones using VLC will crash the server as well. But I still give 5 stars given the effort and quality delivered. Thank you again. I just can't find the info on how to stream video with audio in VLC though. Hope there are more documentations.

The one problem I have with this app is that the stored videos seem to be at a much lower quality than the live stream. I'm using it to catch people vandalizing my property but you can't get good enough video to recognize them. everything else works works very well. Is there more documentation on this app? EDIT: I can get much better quality by selecting ""other viewing methods"" and using ispy or zoneminder to record and set up their motion detection settings. then only use IP webcam only for streaming and adjusting the camera. This appears to reduce the workload on your old cell phone.

No good after a few hours app became barely responsible and barely steaming . Maybe many photos in one folder slowed it down. Doesn't matter.

I can't say enough good about this! I was using "Droidcam" awhile back, but it had no Onvif compatibility, sound wouldn't work wilth my Linux VMS software, and the video quality of the RTSP stream beats the pants off the "mjpeg" offered in the other app! This works freaking awesome! Pavel, you're a genius!

Didn't seem to work across my dlink router, but worked great on a hotspot connection. Was also able to easily use in OpenCV for python. Thanks for this!

It's excelent. The best option by far even between payed ones. What you get to do with the local server is beyond any possibility. Do you think there is a way to force the app to use the secondary microphone ?

I using it on my old SS Note 3 but the camera keep exit after few day (2-3 days), the app still running but it's exit monitoring mode.

Excellent app and easy to use. Worried if the feed can be hacked though ? It does say only visible on your network.

I can use the camera in Skype, Hangout etc. But Chrome doesn't give any option to select the cam and doesn't work. Can you please help.

I'm having an issue with my video being extremely dark even in a brightly lit room. I've tried it. And reinstall as well as deleting the data of the app. Sometimes the video is bright but then darkens and I cannot find a way to brighten it again

It worked pretty good, but since last update the devices can no longer be found through onvif. Have tried on 3 different devices so far, none of them worked after the update which is unfortunate. Hope it will be fixed soon.

Works great. I use it to check on my dog when she's home alone.

This app is awesome. I've set up multiple phones as network cameras, then used the raspberry pi with the motion software to act as a camera hub. Old phones I own have found a new purpose. Thank you

Excellent app! I use it on my old cellphone to watch my dog when I am not home.

Easy to use solution, I was able to get it working in less than 5 minutes. The only question I have is if it supports 60 fps, right now I am getting some dropped frames. Does it support 60fps ?

I want to use IP Webcam into mobile with the distance of 10 km it is working only with the Wi-Fi it should be work from any browser anywhere anytime

Overall good app with lot of features, except ghosting issue causing blur video, using with redmi 4x, video quality is good with nomal camera app but bad with this app. please suggest solutions

Works as advertised and I haven't ran into any issues thus far in the few months I've used it.

Nice app.. But it stopped working once i enabled the plug-ins.. I had to disable it.. That was a real turn off for me.

Nice app for streaming camera over network. I love the app but it would be more happy to see if there is NDI integration as its low latency feature will boost the streaming latency.

Good app. But is there any way to define which area of the screen you want it to focus on during a video or photo capture via the web UI.

Was a decent app, until latest update. Now won't open an external camera.

Great app, but... I want to remove the text from screen. Thanks for a great app and, Thanks for your reply Pavel. 5 stars 👍🏻

followed all steps in this tutorial just to get a message that "could not create upload" any help please...

Best streaming app i have found so far, and super easy to set up too! 👍

Audio is not synchronized with audio and phone gets very hot in only 5 minutes.

All looks kinda cool, but after switching off the phone screen after very short time the app stops as well...

Works well but stop sending is not obvious.

Does not work. Browser keeps turning and fails

Great! Works perfectly on Android 9 Nokia 7.2

Works brilliantly, even on an old HTC Desire running Android KitKat.

I am not able to use camera when screen is off. Not able to run in background

I use it for a rear view cam on my motorcycle (direct wired) works great

Works a treat on my Galaxy Tab A but my Lenovo yoga Android won't have it.

Awesome app! .. no muss .. no fuss .. no hassles.

Would be nice if you can set schedules to enable/disable the camera, as well as the live stream server.

Excellent app. Does what you would expect without any issues

One minute only working background video after that it was error plz help me how to use long time

Its saying "couldn't create uploader". Need help pls

Not able to open IP link i Please guide to check I did as suggested but doesnt work Pls help

I am not to happy with the app , because you can't connect to your device

It worked but does it need to be the phone and pc is under one wifi?

I love this! I use it for everything. We have several old phones laying around that are now IP cameras. Knowledge of port forwarding and dynamic DNS allowed me to remotely access a camera I have in a window pointed at the driveway so I can see if anyone pulls in the driveway. I've also used it to assist in winterizing our boat engines. It normally takes 3 people. Me at the helm running the engines, someone in the engine room to tell me when the antifreeze bucket is empty and someone on the ground to tell me when the antifreeze comes running out of the exhaust into the catch-buckets. With this app, 2 old phones allows me do it by myself without recruiting my friends! I just clamp the old phones down so I can see both buckets and my laptop at my side allows me to be in all 3 places at once! Love it!

main camera not work when i open mobile camera then saw me camera failed.

Nice but a lot of ads.

Awesome app! Thank you so much for making this

The app is pretty good. I was doing a twitch stream with it then my pc crashed and the app never worked again. I went to the ip and it just froze the video. I hit refresh and it actednlikether was no video. I reinstalled the app, redid the IP and still same issue. But it was an amazing 5 minuites

Very good but if we can have an addon to stepdown maybe 1920x1080 with full quality to 720x480 resolution so streaming on network can gain smooth nice playback on,low resolution. Thank you... the server will be started in 1920x1080 res but network resolution size will be 720x480.

Why does this indicate it's a previously installed app? It sits in list of, but it is not. Appreciate any response. Thanks for the response. I am the original and sole owner of phone living alone. Perhaps I downloaded it years ago as I do plan to upgrade phone and wanted to use the old one for this function. It just appeared to be a recent addition. I may be misreading that. I have added stars for the quick and professional response.

Best IP webcam. Works flawless. Pls add a time or counter overlay on the video to use it in less movement areas to ensure that the video is not frozen.

Carefull, GPlay wont refund this app. Developer gives 2 hours for refund. App only works easy with browsers. Camera adapter for win10 pro 64bit on website of developer doesnt work. No troubleshooting or info. Outdated app. No support, at all. You have to know coding to make it work. Asking for refund, but developer is not available. Not worth the trouble.

Overall mixed experiance, I do appreciate the work and effort to provide this software for free, however I wish there was more clear documentation, Im running on a LG G5 VS987, the biggest issue Im trying to solve is how to get the software to record when motion is detected, currently it only records when motion is detected when a client is connected, I dont understand how thats useful, I imagine most people want motion detection to record when there not watching.

I think my issues with this ap are related to the cheap RCA tablet I tried to load it on. It tred to work until I plugged in the USB webcam, then the tablet rebooted. it kept rebooting until I removed the camera. Befoer loading the ap, plugging in the camera, the tablet wanted to associate it with a wifi camera ap that of course would not find the usb cam, but the the tablet did not crash This tablet has issues with some other programs that work on severalother tablets. RCA 16303W87 tablet

Nice app - easy to configure and use, nice that you can restrict it to a local network Phone heats up a bit - but that is expected

audio doesnt work

Really impressive, a great way to make use of older phones which have better image quality than average security cameras. If there's a way to configure it to use a different rear camera (e.g the wide angle on a LG V30), it's 5 stars from me.

works great, but unusable for me with quality setting over 50. is this a problem with the app, my router, my phone, or something else? i am using it with a Samsung Galaxy S9 plus.

Every time I press start server it shows my camera for a second and the screen goes black. If I don't click anything it force closes in about 10 seconds. If I tap the screen it puts me on a version of Google search but when I enter the IP address it pops up search results for the numbers rather than the proper page. When I go to Google manually and do it the page will not load and says error because it "took too long to load". It worked fine the first two times I tried it and now this. Not sure what happened. Help? Edit: Thank You this helped with the black screen and false Google page but the ap still force closes every time 30 seconds after "start server".

The app works great. But I had one issue that made me uninstall it completely, it overheats my phone to an epic proportion, drains my battery when it's off and just generally hinders my phone, when it is turned off, so I can't even have it on my phone. I won't mind uninstalling and reinstalling every once in a while when I need it, but it needs to get fixed.

Intuitive interface where everything you need is laid out clearly. I noticed however that there is a consistent choppiness that happens every few seconds while streaming video, and was wondering if anyone else had this problem? It's just a slight chop in the video and not much of a big deal, but can be jarring over time. I saw this choppiness problem with a Youtuber who did a tutorial on using this app with OBS, and was wondering if there's any way to fix the stability of the video.

Works like charm. If you have problems, try not to install any plugin for a moment or find out what they really do. Make sure you give the app permission to overlay. While streaming, connect to the same wifi with your laptop. Personally, I have an issue where the screen goes black after the stream starts. Just tap the screen, everything goes back normally. Tested on Samsung Galaxy S8

The best IP camera app I found at the Play store. Easy to use and tune. Works well with various IP camera viewers. Doesn't require creating an account or signing up for any "cloud services". 3 stars because of annoying bugs: (a) The camera flash turns on randomly (without any interaction with the phone or the client). Still haven't figured out the circumstances which trigger it. (b) A recording starts by itself (same as flash); (c) The integrated web client drops the sound occasionally.

This is a terrific webcam app (and I'm even using the free version). It will run for days w/o problems on a $10 Huawei H868C Tracfone mounted to a window (running Android 4.0). Rebooting the phone usually fixes any occasional freezeups (I use SSHDroid). The only problem I run into every once in a while is that rebooting the phone (#reboot -f via ssh) doesn't fix the unresponsive web server interface ("can't connect to server" message. Otherwise does respond to pings and ssh.

"UPDATE" I have discovered that the GREEN SCREEN BUG is an issue with the IP Webcam software on the phones, not the viewers or browsers used to view the stream. For some reason, even though this program was designed to switch between both cameras within a single phone, the switch does not function properly anymore. The bug begins when the secondary camera is selected. The secondary feed is a jumbled green mess. If the user does not alter the settings below the feed before switching back to the main camera, the main feed will look normal. But if the video resolution is tinkered with by the user while viewing the secondary front camera, and a suitable resolution is selected, the green screen can be forced to go away by selecting and deselecting the night vision. Sadly, after messing with night vision, both camera feeds become corrupted. Night vision now makes the front camera a WHITE MESS, and most of the front camera's settings can no longer be changed. The issues continue until the IP Webcam program is stopped and restarted on the phones. This Bug seems to be related to the OVERLAY functionality.

I've been using this app on 2 different HTC One X's to stream video over the internet and locally as well. Everything works really well when once set up correctly. Occasionally the stream will freeze on only one phone but refreshing the page usually fixes it. I think the cause of this issue is likely another app running in the background or possibly my router. Would definitely recommend this app if you can handle a bit of network config

Easy to use app, it would be good to include a user guide with examples of how to use it, I am wondering if it is possible for the app to stream video to tv via dlna or other wireless medium ?

Just for Fun... After closing the app .. the link not working... It's just for kids

Its a virus , you can't delete it, uninstall yes,but other files NO,will screw your ip,proxy, your gallery etc.... DO NOT DOWNLOAD

Great App. I have a feature issue. when the motion sensor is enabled, the sound when triggered always comes from the speaker even when the headphones are plugged in. I want the sound on the source phone to be played through the headphones. The reason is I dont want to disturb everybody at night with loud nouse at the source. Instead, I want to hear it from receiving phone. please add option and ability to have sound played via headphones not just always via speaker of source phonr. Thanks

I have used this program every night to record foxes for at least 18 months. It has worked beautifully and the motion sensor and blanking out motion detection in unwanted areas has been great. My only negative comment is that recently the startup time on detection of motion seems to have increased and now is about 5 seconds of static frame and then a jump and full motion. I would love to know why it has changed from the original second or so. Perhaps Paul Khlebovich would be kind enough to comment. It's on a sony phone

One ad daisy-chained to the next one up! What have you guys done to the good ad-free app?

Congrats to the author. I am a software engineer and from that perspective I think this is one of the best apps I used on my Android phone. I used it to turn old phones into versatile IP cameras and I also used it to take timelapses on my 3D printer. Absolutely amazing! PS: I even ran it on a very (very) old Honeycomb Android Tablet (Iconia A500) and it runs smoothly.

Really old design but easy to use and configure video resolution, fps and more. It really gets the job done, which is exactly what I was looking for.

I cant see the video on my PC.. there are just random colors for java and everything else and for flash. it's just black. although I can hear the voice but no video

Thank a ton...this is what I have been looking for. The best ever app for streaming with phone. I m definitely going for the pro version. One thing I want to ask as you said in the comments below that RTSP will further delay the latency, but I m finding more latency with RTSP . Don't know why this. Any idea. Http is doing great

Couldn't get it working, difficult to set up (can't edit typed IP address), gave up in the end which is unusual for me

I love this app. i have a galaxy class phone. And do in the yard remote bird shots. Have used it to look out for ups from the front window. By using it with a phone that generates wifi it becomes portable with a wifi enabled laptop for in the woods use. No it is no substitute for a remote control slr. But they cost bucks, already had my phone ;)

I wanted to use this as a reversing camera for the caravan. running a laptop from the car the app works fine via a router in caravan. when connected to web browser on my galaxy s8+ it is very slow and laggy. it would be great if I could run it on phone screen. does anyone have any ideas on how to speed it up. cheers. ps. camera is galaxy s4 mini. go figure. tried it on an older s3 mini. all works fine. Just won't work on s4 mini.

I couldn't get IP Webcam to work. Upon registering with Ivideon, I was then made aware of a subscription fee to use the external streaming service. I thought being a free app the streaming would also be free but as it turns out, to the best of my knowledge, you have to pay an external streaming service if you want to stream your camera feed over the net. I also found the app very unappealing graphically and not very user friendly. Lots of buttons to press and features to enable, a little complex

Caveat - The app indicates that it works with Android 4.1+ devices. Note that it did not work with a Samsung Galaxy Core Prime, Android 4.4.4 device that I wanted to repurpose as a webcam to feed my Amazon Alexa Echo. I went through the VLC media player to see if it would read the necessary rtsp port. Each time I attempted to access the stream with VLC the app's stream server would crash. I checked the VLC log's and there was littile information. I spent about a day trying various configurations but was ultimately unsuccessful. Note, video was available without a problem through the (Chrome) browser URL. To be fair, I installed IP Webcam on my Galaxy J7 Sky Pro and it worked fine. I was able to set up and access the video stream without a problem.. The J7 is running Android 6.0.1

This is the most solid RTSP app I could find. Miles ahead of the rest in terms of functionality. Awesome job!

Amazing app. Comes with quite a lot of features, all for free. Not just filled to the brim with adware like 99% of apps.

I loved this app and rated 5 starts. but small problem is It can't be used through usb, and it needs active hotspot of phone or router. How can I use it even though both are not available but I can use it as "USB_Webcam" through 'usb-2' port. overall nice performance and lot of customizability in browser's dashboard. thank you developer- Pavel Khlebovich.
