Bible Songs For Kids

The Bible is a collection of sacred texts or scriptures that Jews and Christians consider to be a product of divine inspiration and a record of the relationship between God and humans. Many different authors contributed to the Bible. And what is regarded as canonical text differs depending on traditions and groups; a number of Bible canons have evolved, with overlapping and diverging contents. The Christian Old Testament overlaps with the Hebrew Bible and the Greek Septuagint; the Hebrew Bible is known in Judaism as the Tanakh. The New Testament is a collection of writings by early Christians, believed to be mostly Jewish disciples of Christ, written in first-century Koine Greek. These early Christian Greek writings consist of narratives, letters, and apocalyptic writings. Among Christian denominations there is some disagreement about the contents of the canon, primarily the Apocrypha, a list of works that are regarded with varying levels of respect. Attitudes towards the Bible also differ amongst Christian groups. Roman Catholics, Anglicans and Eastern Orthodox Christians stress the harmony and importance of the Bible and sacred tradition, while Protestant churches focus on the idea of sola scriptura, or scripture alone. This concept arose during the Protestant Reformation, and many denominations today support the use of the Bible as the only source of Christian teaching. For Kid's Church, Sunday School This lesson helps familiarize children with the Bible, how it came to be, and the importance of it. Like any book its nice to know the background of it, when it is written, if its fiction or non-fiction, who the author is, etc. Except that this book is the most important book we will ever read. It teaches us how to live our life, comforts us in our times of need, helps us to know who God is, and gives us some incite on our future on earth and with God. The main verse for this lesson will be taken from Psalm 119:105 "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path." I’ve taught this program twice in Sunday School to ages 6 to 12. It’s been a very enjoyable experience. These lessons have been developed with the help of all the great homeschooling resources that I've used over the years. Overview of Bible History I have found that this is a great way to give kids a quick overview of Biblical history in the context of world history. It can be used for homeschool lessons and for Sunday school lesson. Please feel free to use it and share it with your friends. If you love God it is ALWAYS fun to study the Bible, because it is the Word of God. And to really understand the Word of God sometimes you have to find a map just so that you can understand what is going on. Many of the stories in the Bible mention the names of cities, mighty nations, rivers and mountains, and distances from one place to another. Geography technically comes from two ancient words that mean to "describe the world," and in this website you will find many maps, tools, and activities that will help describe the world to you as you learn how to understand the geography of the Bible. Always consider offering Coloring Pagesor you could look at the Bible Printables for children who aren't interested in participating in the group activity (or if you get done the group activities very quickly and need something to fill in the spare time). Everyone has a need for "alone time" once in awhile. Also, sending home the coloring pages with the Take Home sheet provides parents with much needed help in reinforcing the lessons.
