Indian Electricity Rules,1956

Indian Electricity Rules, 1956 defines the basic fundamentals of Electricity Safety, and when followed in totality there cannot be any incidence of electrocution or electric fire. Indian Electricity Rules 1956 are made as per Indian Electricity Act: 1910, which is repealed by the Electricity Act: 2003. Indian Electricity Rules contain general and specific provisions regarding reliability and safety of Electrical supply systems. While some of the sections have already been enacted and are yielding benefits, there are a few other sections that are yet to be fully enforced till date.
