Description
This application is provided by ID TECH for demonstrating functionality of the ID TECH UniMag family of mobile mag stripe card readers, whose members include:
- UniMag Pro
- UniMag II and Shuttle
- Unijack
- UniPay
- Unipay 1.5
- Unipay III
The demo also provides support for:
- BTPay
- Minismart II
- Kiosk III
- Augusta
- Augusta S
The ID TECH family of readers provide superior reading performance, and DUKPT encryption scheme. The UniMag family allows smartphones or tablets to read credit cards, signature debit cards, gift cards, loyalty cards, driver's licenses, ID badges and more. UniMag can be used with a wide variety of smartphones and tablets, including HTC, LG, Motorola, and Samsung devices.
Basic troubleshooting if unable to connect to reader via audio jack:
1. be sure your media volume is at max
- Note: Ring tone, system sounds, and media are separately controlled volumes. Your ring tone can be at max while your Media volume is at 0.
2. Be sure you have the right device selected
- Open the settings menu either by pressing the Android menu button, or pressing the 3 dots in the upper right corner of the app. Once the menu is open, press "Switch Reader Type". Another menu should pop up listing out several supported ID Tech Readers. Find the Reader you are using and select it.
3. Try running the Auto configure
- Open the settings menu as described in step 2. Click "Start AutoConfigure". The auto configure utility attempts to find a communication profile that matches your phone. This process can take several minutes and is not guaranteed that a communication profile for your phone will be found.
Note: This demo app is for demonstrating the ID Tech family reader's functionality. If your phone works with the reader and the application, it is not a guarantee that the reader will work with your particular Point of Sales application. If the reader works with the demo app, and not with the Point of Sales app, please contact their support.
