IAP Breast Feeding App

Breast feeding is the foundation and elixir of life. The aim of this app is to increase the percentage of exclusive breastfeeding in infants (less than 6 months) in India. Our theme is to empower parents and enable breastfeeding. Often new mother face problems initiating breast feeding and maintaining the continuum. This app provides solutions to common breast and nipple problems and breast care to be taken during pregnancy. It also provides insight into feeding positions from which mother can choose a position in which she is comfortable. Here we have created videos to show the benefits of breast feeding and maternal nutrition during lactation.

Benefits of breastfeeding to mother:
•Its easily available and convenient. No need to prepare
•Prevents breast and ovarian cancer in mothers
•It helps mother to reduce weight gained during pregnancy.

Benefits to breast-fed baby:
•It is highly nutritious and easily digestible.
•Makes baby smart (breast milk is for brain growth and cows milk is for body growth)
•Improves immunity and decreases infections
•Breast milk has long term benefits and decreases the incidence of obesity, diabetes and heart diseases in later life.

Benefits to society:
•Decrease economic burden of society
•Increase bond between mother and baby.
•Healthy society
