Reviews From google play store

Since the app new update yesterday, I have lost almost 2 years of bookmarks...very annoying ! Especially there was no way to back them up or keep them secured via an account ! I'm done with this app, it was great...but the invasion of ads for the past few months and the above bookmark issue have finished killing my good relationship with the Huff !

This app cuts off news stories mid sentence. Also because of all the ads the text keeps jumping around reorienting itself. Uninstalling the app. I use a Google Pixel XL. Update: after hearing from developer will reinstall and await fix. Will update rating when it works. Thanks!

The perspective is good but includes way too much entertainment news. Also because audio plays automatically and uncontrollably i deleted the app.

They really post good news with well researched content unlike Inshorts and other apps with headlines explained. I love Huffpost and their team. Cheers guys! Great job!

Ads ads ads. A 30 second commercial about disease to watch a 20 second video. No thank you. I just won't watch the video and probably close the ap ppl. It's just rude.

Crash crash crash all the time crash. Gee please fix already..😎✌

Entertaining stories and some serious stuff too.

Usually I love the app but at the moment it is a pain. When the Oath consent button comes up on the app, you press it and go through to the website. Then you go back to the app to read the same article and Oath consent button is still there, blocking your access to reading the article. Plus you have advertisements running on top of the Oath consent button so it is difficult to press the button without pressing the advert. I'm sure under GDPR that is not allowed. All in all this is not helpful!!

Something's busted with the app with a recent update as the text from articles no longer formats correctly as words are missing from the ends of sentences and the only way to see them is to change the orientation of your phone to rotate the view. At first I thought it was related to the standard vertical/portrait orientation, but even when viewing horizontally/landscape, words will still get cut off.

Great source for news. I've always loved Huffpost.

Since the recent Android system update, Huff Post has been acting strangely. It starts when asked to "OK" privacy details before seeing some reports. The "OK" button is almost covered by an advert and difficult to access. This brings up a choice of using the app or a browser to see the news article. If i choose the app, the article page is blank. If you then go "Home" the app will not close or go into the background. I have uninstalled and re-installed several times, but it keeps happening.

App doesn't deal well with photos inserted in articles. Causes the text to become unreadable. Now it pauses on the adds, makes it dificult to read the article. Support wants an email, like they can't read this. The Guardian and RT don't have a problem. The news you report isn't important if your app turns people away. Find a new Tech group.

App has serious stability issue. Crashes inexplicably. Have never had this problem with any other app I've installed from a top-flight news co. By crash I mean the following: As one scrolls down reading a news story one may encounter a photo. As one scrolls past the photo the screen starts blinking on and off. The unblinking svreen may or may not return. Easier to read the Post in a web browser.

Good news app. As long as it's for republicans or both parties, then it's all good.

After last update app no longer rotates on my tablet.

I can't log into my account! Every time I want to save my bookmarks across devices, I use my log in details to log in and then nothing happens! It just directs me to the main news page and when I go to see if I'm logged in, I'm not! FIX this annoying bug on your end please! Update: I updated the app and the log in option, is no longer there! How can I log into my account and save my bookmarks?!

Why isn't ad removal and alert option in Indian version?

I greatly enjoy the content on huffpost but I dislike how videos at the top of most articles begin with the volume automatically set on mute when it runs the initial commercial ad and then while attempting to touch the video to bring up the video controls to unmute it, it redirects to a site related to the commercial being shown. Would be nice to just enjoy the video content and use the video controls without being redirected to another web page that im not interested in during the process.

Does the app support Oxygen OS? My One Plus 6T has blank white page where pics and video should show.

Wow, has taken privacy controls to Crystal Maze levels. No doubt to stop customers denying access to all their tasty personal data.

An antidote to Fox news. I try several news app's left and right and this one leans in my direction. all have bias but some are outright propaganda. This app strikes the middle key while still leaning left.

Kinda glitchy and no dark screen but like the articles, hope to see app perform better in time. Review again then.

frequently closes down, often moves copy up and down so it is unreadable

Always a trusted source and in a convenient format.

When I enter my region as India, it stops the processing. So basically I'm not able to access the indian version in the app.

Great app! Easy to use and read

I love it. Google and tmobile tried to. lock it

Great news app! Thanks LD!

since the update the app takes up 50MB more space on my phone...may delete

cant seem to select India as an option for region even though its a valid option - for android 10

Same news in the evening as reported in the morning.

I feel very bad that you keep talking about my internet or my device. I said several times my other apps work very well. Send email? Repeat the same conplaints expecting these kinds of answers?

I have visited Huffington post since Day 1. I removed the app when the Huffpost folks decided that autoplay was a good idea. Suddenly a random news video starts up. Scares the bejeebers out of me. I let my little niece use the phone for kiddy games. Huffpost was open and started up in the background. She thought she broke the phone. Honestly, if someone has the app and has been a loyal reader, why create a nuisance? Motto: Don't be a nuisance!

Read it every day. Love this app!!

Huff Post is an excellent timely news source however just lately when I access it I get an antennae tower blocking reports and have to return for a second try. This never happened before however as stated above the Huff Post News Service is excellent so no complaints there.

Love reading Huffpost.thier news is informative

Constant Loading Errors

Always has up to date news

Reliable except videos.

a great digital newspaper. Look forward to reading each morning to catch up with what is happening in the world.

This is the secobd time while reading an article that the app has frozen. I have a new phone and therefore do not believe its my phone as this does not happen with any other app.

Very biased opinions... no news. Rolls with the deep state

Wants to open huffpost articles from the browser but only gives a retry option when it doesn't load the article. Edit: This occurs from multiple browsers, despite clearing the cache and cookies. Thanks for the attempt at help though.

Huff Post is a wonderful source of news. The app used to be fine. Recenly, it has become a problem on my Galaxy Note 4. It freezes up, then closes and I have open it again and scroll down to find the article I had been reading, hoping that it won't freeze again. I've uninstalled the app, then reinstalled it. It still freezes and turns off.

I'm a fan of Huffington Post. I've been a reader for years. The app on my iPhone 6S Plus worked great. I had to switch back to an Android six months ago. Every time I try to read an article, the app just goes black and shuts down. I can't even get through 1 article without it shutting down. Not the content, but the app simply does not function on my Android Samsung. I have to use Chrome or another browser to access the website directly because the app is useless and frustrating.

I've used and enjoyed this app for years. I appreciate the alerts and the point of view of HuffPost altogether. Today I opened the app once to read a headline, then closed it again. In the background it used 4.3GB of mobile data. Uninstalled immediately and, as this is likely going to cost me a fortune, I can't fathom installing the app again.

Constantly crashes. Lucky if I can get two articles open before crashing. Each update makes it worse. I uninstalled, reinstalled too many times to count. Content is ok but who cares if you can't read it. Update 2/7/19: Continues to crash and freeze. I've sent numerous file logs, etc., and nothing changes. I'm done and uninstalling this app. Too bad HuffPo can't get their act together and fix the issue.

One section continues to say, "Something went wrong" and does not show any article. I have cleared cache and deleted data and restarted. Nevertheless, the same section continues to have the same problem. I then unistalled the app and wiped the cache partition before re-installing the app. No use. The same section continues to have the same problem and says, "Something went wrong." Thank you for your response. I have already sent 3 emails. 4/6/19 Working now. Thus, 5 Stars.

In the previous version, I was able to read articles offline by downloading them via settings. the recent update does not allow for that to happen and I'm unable to read offline articles. While the updated design is great, the functionality of the app is greatly reduced. Uninstalled the app.

This was a perfectly good news app... until they added an 'alerts' section. Now, despite turning 'alerts' off in the settings... the 'alerts' section is full of 'alerts' with a notification counter lit up telling me I have unread alerts. Unread alerts? I shouldn't have any at all!!! I turned that crud off! Uninstalled until that section is removed and an apology given.

unable to access privacy dashboard. I quit! It was nice of the HuffPost developer to reply to my negative review with a link to help me out - unfortunately the link took me to the same place where I cannot get to the place to adjust my privacy settings. After the Captcha screen, all I get is "We are unable to process your request" START AGAIN. Well, I'm not going to. Bye, HuffPost! 3RD ATTEMPT Thanks for the guidance. I followed it and cleared the cache. But till no luck. Here's the sequence: Try to load HuffPost. Opens. Try to open a Story. Goes to "Manage options". Choose Manage. Get "Our partners" Choose Privacy Dashboard". Get "Welcome to the Oath privacy centre". Choose "Privacy dashboard" (again!). Get "Your privacy dashboard". Choose "HuffPost". Get "prove you're not a robot". I prove it. Choose "Continue". SAME RESULT: "UNABLE TO PROCESS YOUR REQUEST". MY CONCLUSION - HUFFPOST DOES NOT WANT ME TO CONTROL MY PRIVACY SETTINGS! BYE BYE HUFFPOST! (but thanks for your efforts to try to solve the problem!)

The 3 links at the end of each article are not working anymore. Pressing at them does nothing. I have already tried uninstalling and re-installing the app. *UPDATE* I have sent an email, but still, even after the new update, the problem is not solved. *UPDATE 2* After the latest update (17/4/19) the problem is solved.

Constant crashing. I've tried reinstalling this app at least 10 times in the past year but nothing has changed. Maybe instead of trying to dig deeper into our phone data to be exploited at a later date, try being less shady and focus on spreading news.

worst app I've ever used hands down. I've been trying to work with their support team to mitigate the issues I've been having with the app for months now but to no avail. I've never seen an application work worse on a desktop vs a mobile device until now. I don't know how this app passed testing to be released into production. I'm starting to wonder if they don't have any QA and it's just the developers doing unit testing and that's it.

After reinstall it seemed to work but again crashes constantly. UINSTALLED It has become very buggy and freezes constantly for me and others as the comments lately agree. Please fix. I used to really enjoy HuffPost. 10/5 I've reinstalled the app and it seems like it is working fine now. Will continue to to monitor.

Edit: I have updated the app, since that seems to be the only fix available. Nothing has changed. I have cleared the cache on my phone, force stopped the app, etc. I'm considering deleting the app because I'm tired of trying to read news and it crashing. It's not just GOT articles now, it's any random article. Hopefully you fix this soon. Edit #2 I HAVE uninstalled and reinstalled. Have YOU tried to do anything instead of troubleshooting through reviews?

Nothing but political smear campaigns - I used to love the Huff Post when they had a variety of topics and actual news, but now it is nothing but constant political garbage. Even the "entertainment" section only consists of anti Trump articles. Regardless of your political stance, if you want to read any news other than anti Trump articles, this is not the app for you.

Just installed it at 09-13-18 at 1805 CST. First, the damned thing can only install to my internal memory card; valuable real estate; not to my SD card. Signal of a stupid app developer. Next, your app didn't even play the ads!!! How will you make money? Next, this is an app, which I know hooks into my browser on my phone. But when trying to view in full screen it says "full screen is not supported on your browser". My Samsung Internet app AND Chrome both play in full screen. So the app developer went to the trouble of frickin' lying in his ERROR MESSAGES. Huffpost, if you paid a guy to make this, you got robbed.

The news is up-to-the-minute, but the app frequently shuts down on a random basis. I have other news apps...Microsoft News and Yahoo News...and they never just shut down for no reason. It's getting pretty annoying to be in the middle of reading an article and it just shuts down!

I used to use this app a lot but am now uninstalling because of the auto play ads... I don't appreciate ads that play automatically, taking over my phone! It is really disruptive and annoying. Imagine trying to read a story in public (i.e., sitting in a Drs waiting room) and a loud ad starts screaming from your phone! Really horrible.

I am satisfied with the news content that is covered in the App. The written content varies across the spectrum covering different topics that allow you to choose from a number of editorials to focus your attention on depending on what you are in the mood to read or you would like to keep up to date and well informed on what is trending in the headlines currently.

worked fine on my phone until i updated to android pie. it tries to launch. you see words for a split second and then it crashes and the screen goes all white. looks like it needs a bug fix. i have a samsung galaxy s8. this is the only app that doesnt work right after i updated to android pie. everything else on my phone works except this.

The app has one very simple problem: it crashes every time I try to read a story. I have sent feedback with crash logs pretty much daily for a month, but nobody has bothered to send an auto-reply. Apparently the developers just don't care.

This app has multiple trackers built in to it that watch all activity on your phone. Amazon purchases and cursory web searches slowly repopulate ads that match your activity. NEVER gave any permission to this app to constantly monitor all of my phones actions... Will be deleting and contacting huffpost directly.

The best section of this app besides the news is the readers comment. But now it either crash or very, slow loading. Why update and make it worse? And if it is worse, why not bring back the old version?

I like Huff post for its concise understandable reporting of very relevant news.It seems to be fair reporting of national interest and liberal as it may seem, I believe there is conservative heart embedded throughout. That makes it relevant to all.

App will crash when I click on an an article, any article, EVERY time. Has steadily deteriorated over the last six months. the mobile site became unworkable due to constant pop ups telling me to use an unstable app that cover half of the screen.

I prefer the last update. The layout of buttons have been rethought and the whole appearance is much more comely and user-friendly. However, I'd like to receive news about everything and anything, not only major headings.

Awful! Brings up ad preferences for every other article, this then kicks out to the yahoo website... can't view those articles.

First off, the app is now garbage, and consistantly crashes every 2 minutes. Secondly, they're extreamly bias, downright racist, and very sexist. In the past 3 years, this has become the least honest news source, in the mainstream. I've used this app for 7+ years, but the journalistic integrity is completely gone. It's now just a far-left propaganda app. The "Fox News" of the left.

On my Samsung Galaxy S2 tablet, it has been closing on its own as I'm reading articles. This is happening with greater frequency. I used to read the news everyday but it is now too annoying.

App default opens to the Entertainment page instead of the Front Page. There is no way to move the Entertainment page My Sections. Cant log into my account it just says page not found when I click on log in. Really a lot of issues with this version of the app.

The Huffington Post app contains written joirnalistic content covering more specific areas/special interests/perspectives that would offer at least something that would likely be of interest to most news readers browsing the app. The app has an organized design and the user/news reader can help the app function smoother and reduce waste/scrolling by choosing the user's favourite news areas in the user menu contained in the app.

This app used to work well but over the past months has started to stop unexpectedly. I have the latest update and have uninstalled and reinstalled the app but it still keeps stopping. I have sent feedback several times.

Really slow to load news stories. Scrolling is flakey. Does not make for a good experience. I now go to other news sites because this app is just frustrating to try to use.

Content is fine but app is highly unstable and has been for months. I'm lucky if I can read an entire article without it freezing or crashing.

Not sure why but recently the app crashes frequently. It is very annoying. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling to no avail....perhaps a new update.

What is Happening?! App crashes. Videos are frustrating at best. HP is my fave news app! Please, for the love of all that is the Resistance, FIX THIS!

I Uninstalled and reinstalled, clicked on a story, as I was reading, app crashed, just like it has for 3 months, using samsung tablet, no problems for years, only last 3 months, scott

I read Huffington Post multiple times daily. This app shuts down several times during one session on my Samsung android tablet running Marshmallow. Very disturbing. Please fix.

I really did enjoy this app.....until the new update. Now I can't even finish an article without it crashing. Please fix!!!

I continually get a "Malware Virus" warning when using this app. Lookout says this app is trying to load "ACDS.PROD.VIDIBLE.TV" which may be harmful. GOOGLE PLAY NEEDS TO CHECK THIS OUT!

Crashes all the freaking time! I can't believe I'm the only one with the problem. Very strange that developers seem unable to fix.

While I enjoy this app, lately it has been closing in the middle of reading. Please fix this issue because this has been a 5 star app

I love this Huff Post but this app barely works on my phone now. Takes forever to load story and won't let me log in to comment. Constantly crashes.

I might enjoy reading the articles published in the app if it didn't freeze and crash almost every time I try to open one to read.

I'm a daily user but after the update it's running really slow. I get it that adverts are necessary but I don't need an options bar on the bottom of the screen. Wastes space

Offline mode doesn't work, despite the settings for this feature. Dates on stories would be nice, too.

Still crashes when reading articles. Use to be a great app now crashes all the time when reading articles. Would not recommend.

Until the latest update, I really liked this app. Now it crashes every time I open a story. I'm deleting the app.

I installed the app and used it for about 5 min. My battery went from 93% to 65%. Uninstalled it immediately.. i just downloaded it..how could it an "older version"??

Constantly crashes on my Samsung Galaxy Tab S8. I've tried everything, but can't read even one article.

I really do hate the video part of this app. it sucks. Set aside the bad choices for ads and frequency, the function is just impossible to tolerate. Really awful.

Has landsape mode. Good on my tablet. I do not like the giant article when I open the app, I'd rather see the articles without scrolling down.

App keeps locking up and freezing. Takes its time loading articles. Will change review if the latest update fixes this problem.

new version has video popup no way to turn off or at least mute. can not read in private, and annoyance to people around you.

It used to work, would be 5 Stars, but now it crashes!! Can't even get thru one article!

Used to love this app, but since it opens external links in my browser when clicking on most links it has become beyond frustrating and unusable. Do all you care about now is getting money from popups...?

Love reading the articles but the app shuts down, has errors, wants feed back. It is not worth the continued frustration.

used to be great, now it crashes every 4 minutes or less.

These location services must be turned on and available to your device for the app to use them. Apps may use this to determine approximately where you are.

view network connections
Allows the app to view information about network connections such as which networks exist and are connected.

view Wi-Fi connections
Allows the app to view information about Wi-Fi networking, such as whether Wi-Fi is enabled and name of connected Wi-Fi devices.
