Description
HP Commercial PCs equipped with HP Sure Admin feature can manage access to firmware, using public/private key pair-based security. This feature provides increased security over a typical password-based solution. While this feature is seamless when an administrator is managing firmware remotely, there are cases when local IT persons (or users) need to authenticate their identities to the firmware (e.g., to access the BIOS F10 Setup). In such use cases, the firmware will display a QR code, which the local IT person can scan with HP Sure Admin Mobile application for generating a one-time PIN that can be entered into the firmware for user authentication.
