I really like this app but there's one thing that is driving me nuts. It refers to the 'events on this day in history' as 'random' which is just not what the word 'random' means. Maybe if it were arbitrarily selecting the events from 'this day in history' to show me, I'd consider that a form of randomization...

Very interesting. Nice interface and user friendly. I was hoping to learn more non-political gems of information. More inventions & discoveries and even fun tidbits. There are dates of tragadies and wars, kings and queens and people and places of import in history. You can choose the time period your most interested in. And lots of links to click to learn more. I was hoping for more fun and positive trivia (especially England 1700s -1800). There is some. I did not get this free for review.

This is a great app for all history buffs out there. I check it everyday to get my daily history lesson. The one thing i would suggest to make this app better is to add a feedback option. There are some things that I've noticed that either aren't entirely true, or the picture doesn't match the event/person. For instance, on March 2nd, for 1127, on the event of the assassination of Charles the Good, it shows a picture of Lee Harvey Oswald, which has nothing to do with it. Otherwise a great app 😁

Whenever I get a notice of something that looks interesting then go to it I am annoyed that I can't find the event or date that I got the notice for. I do enjoy the app, but I would prefer it if it take me to where it's sending . I made this review 2 months ago. It STILL hasn't been fixed ! Am seriously considering uninstalling .

Great app. Just inserts a little history into your day. pretty bare bones but does exactly what it claims. links to wiki if you want detailed explanations of the material. I'm very glad I downloaded this. checking what interesting stuff happened today in history has become a part of my daily routine

The app's content is great. It has a problem with an update process that seems to run almost all the time. If the updates could be completed in a reasonable time, it would earn a 4.5 stars. A droid user.

UPDATED RVW|RATING: Thanks so much; for getting back to me & for the updates! PRIOR RVW: Keeps erroring out everytime i try to export an event. And right after i paid for PREMIUM ACCESS (so that i could export events and eliminate pop-up ads#)? I had a long popup video ad! Otherwise? Seems to be working fine & has MANY different assortments of events; could use more events from Ancient Africa, Ancient Egypt, etc. (i.e., more about ancient times; like Ancient Africa-Egypt-Mesopotamia, etcetera).

I'm not interested in the random selections -- they are obscure, weird, uninteresting, and hardly relevant to anything. Who cares that 774 years ago today, Pope Innocent IV arrived in Lyon for the First Council of Lyon? I usually hate notifications, but I like this one in the AM. It has so much history, however, and so much obscure, weird, uninteresting, irrelevant history however that I will delete it and hope for a "Today in History": app I had years ago on my old HP Ipaq smartphone. I have about 5 seconds each day to spend on this, and if the First Council of Lyon was interesting, it is far from clear why

I originally downloaded the app to help me keep up with the numerical day of the year. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it will give random trivia information like what happened on this date, famous births and deaths. As a history junkie, I love it!
