The Friborg Institute of Heraldry and Genealogy is pleased to offer you the Heraldica application. This allows you to search for coats of arms using search criteria such as furniture, enamels, attributes, ... In addition, a heraldic glossary based on the 'Dictionary of the terms of the coat of arms' by J.B. Rietstap is also available. It should be noted that the purpose of the application is to display coats of arms and not the graphic representation that is the coat of arms. The coats of arms present are currently focused on Switzerland. A necessary condition for the application is to have an internet connection for its use. We hope that this will allow you, for example, to put a name on a coat of arms encountered and unknown to you. This version also provides access to a collection of coats of arms and shields reported by our users. These objects are accessible via a geographic map allowing to visualize their location.
