Guarani Ayvu

The Secretary of Language Policy, the Guarani Language Academy, the Institute of Modern Languages at the National University of Asuncion, PopulisTech, and the Recordings in Guarani Group formed a multidisciplinary workgroup to create the Android App “Guarani Ayvu”. Guarani Ayvu has a trilingual translator (Guarani/Spanish/English) and aims to be a language reference tool for the Paraguayan domestic audience as well as interested individuals abroad to proliferate Guarani understanding and language learning. The focus of this App is to promote bilingualism between Paraguay’s two official languages (Guarani and Spanish) as well as English.

Guarani Ayvu is a free app for Android phones and tablets with 3,200 Guarani words translated to Spanish and English with Guarani audio pronunciations. Additionally, the app includes pronunciations of the Guarani alphabet, basic grammar information, basic medical phrases, as well as the constitution and key language laws translated to Guarani available with audio.
