How can I enable it and set it as the default keyboard? - On Android 5.x and newer versions: Open Settings -> Language & Input, under “KEYBOARD & INPUT METHODS” section, go to Current Keyboard -> Choose Keyboards -> Check “Google Indic Keyboard” -> back to “Language & input” -> Current Keyboard -> Select “English & Indic Languages (Google Indic Keyboard)”When typing in an input box, you can also change the default input method by clicking the keyboard icon on the bottom right corner of the screen. - On Android 4.x: Open Settings -> Language & Input, under “KEYBOARD & INPUT METHODS” section, check Google Indic Keyboard, then click Default and select “Google Indic Keyboard” in the “Choose input method” dialog. Google Indic Keyboard APK: questions and answers

Is there a version of Google Indic Keyboard for older Android phones?

The current version needs Android 5.0 or later. Version 3.2.6.193126728-arm64-v8a is the newest listed build that installs on Android 4.2 and later. It is an old build: apps that rely on online services may no longer connect when they are this old. Get version 3.2.6.193126728-arm64-v8a · All versions

Can I install this APK over the version I already have?

Only if it is signed with the same certificate as the copy on your phone and isn't an older version. If Android says “App not installed”, the certificates differ; uninstalling your copy first works but deletes its data unless it is backed up.

Is the Google Indic Keyboard APK safe?

No one can promise that a file is safe, but some things can be checked. The source store rates this file Trusted. It is signed with the same certificate as the 2 other versions checked. After downloading, check that the file's MD5 is d012298979a388821ccb2844bd73419a.
