Google Play Reviews

  1. Yegor Voronin-avatar

I've been using the free version for years and just decided to buy the pro version to support the developer, the free version is awesome too. The app is for people who prefer to stay in control of how your audio files are organized (in folders). It's very convenient, lots of features, and now it even supports android auto. Highly recommend! Edit: The behavior in Android Auto is not ideal. Every time you live the app, switch to a different audio app and then come back to Folder Player, it completely forgets which folder it was in and what it was playing. It would be nice to fix it so that like many other apps, it resumes from where you left off.

  2. Kevin Alawine-avatar

folder player pro I love this app. I've used it for years. I had the free version and later went to the paid one. I do have an issue though. Two things. (1) Sometimes it will skip a song and go to the next one when there's nothing wrong with the skipped file because I can go back and play it. (2) Lately, when I use top button (pause) and then again (restart) it should the next file. I need to also say that this only started happening since the last couple of updates. Don't take it the wrong way. I still love it!

  3. Peter Brouwer-avatar

download After years using the free version, I've found the extra tags and folder bookmarks so useful for organizing and navigating my music collection. I cleared out my root folder, and filled it with tags and bookmarks for the stuff I listen to most often.

  4. Renaldas Žuromskas-avatar

    Renaldas Žuromskas

cracked New problem on my galaxy note 4. Previous problems are long gone, but one thing still is happening: some tracks get randomly skipped in mid-play or at the end. It has been doing like this for years. But I never noticed it too much untill now. It's something horrible, but a bit annoying

  5. Erez Arbell-avatar

folder player pro 3.9.2 apk Great app to play music or other signs files from folders in the device.

  6. Iya Arefyeva-avatar

folder player problem I love the free version, so I bought the pro one just to support the developers.

  7. ROBERTO -BOB- OBERTI-avatar

folder player pro full apk Am happy to give it 5* for the cross fading facility alone which adds a real professional feel to live recordings. I'm old enough to appreciate the prog-rock scene and have many Genesis and Pink Floyd recordings which edited together with the cross fader makes for a good seamless playlist. My only critique is there doesn't appear to be a track move up/down facility for playlists. Apart from that, very pleased.

  8. Umit Avci-avatar

folder player pro paid apk İt's my favorite Media player and I have used for a long time. İt's dispensable

  9. Lewis Baden-avatar

folder player pro free download Stellar! I love this app! I go pro. This is super-perfect for those of us that own a highly manicured music collection in which individual music files are kept in folders. Pro has many useful features... One of which, a favorite of mine, is the "queue". I really really love this appppp! Thank you Peter!

  10. Grandpa Chet-avatar

ez Such a simple idea which NO ONE ELSE IS USING: create Playlist from your regular file explorer! One star dropped due to sporadic problem of FPP to repeatedly play the same mp3 file over and over. Even less often, it will stop after the first mp3 in a Playlist. But it's worth putting up with these flaws for the sheer convenience of this over any other player.

  11. Mark Richardson-avatar

    Mark Richardson

Great app, super useful and regular updates.

  12. Gérard Willette-avatar

    Gérard Willette

One of the few music folder players which is genuinely light on resources, well laid out, reliable, and doesn't quietly connect to an ad server in the background. I like to run my Androids very fast, so I like apps like this that allow me to turn off advanced features such as the very decent graphic equaliser and bass boost and just keep things very minimal and light on RAM. (Ok, aesthetically it's very basic. But if I want to look at a piece of modern art, I'll just go to Tate Modern.😏)

  13. Robbie Birchall-avatar

    Robbie Birchall

I would love to give this 5 stars but it has so many bugs. You pick an album and press the first song, then when that song finishes it skips to the last album you listened to. So infuriating.

  14. Laurence Rimington-avatar

    Laurence Rimington

God I love this app. This is how to organise your music, reflects my PC. And the "Where was I" function is brilliant for us older folk. This is a developer that understands his customers. 👍

  15. Achaern A.-avatar

This was the single most important app for me to fully adopt Android. I have tons of music that is not regular Pop albums, so the tagging is all over the place. I use ripped music, music my friends have made and many formats and all the other players were too needy and dependent on MP3 tagging. This player is smart, smartly written and it just works. Without this, I'd be going mad.

  16. Godolphin GMail-avatar

    Godolphin GMail

Well I have to say that this ticks all the boxes for me. I have an old Samsung phone which I am using just as an MP3 player in the car. I have this connected via the 3.5mm jack and charging via USB (my car does not have Bluetooth). I already have all my music (as MP3's) on an SD Card saved into 2 folders - Music and Podcasts. With the Tags feature I am able to switch between the 2 folders and play where I left off. I have purchased the Pro version a) because it is a thank you to the developer and b) because now my music pauses and starts automatically when I turn the engine on and off. For anyone who wants to play music using their folder structure, I cannot fault it. Thank you Peter S.

  17. Nathan Hubbard-avatar

Very simple and useful functionality. While the tagging system is nice for making playlists, I place my music in folders according to artist (when I have a lot of one artist) or by a loose playlist-type collection. So I don't actually use it often, I find the folder functionality way more useful. Since nested folders play as youd expect (hit play one a folder to play any files and folders nested within it) my music is arranged in a useful tree system. Easily the best music playing software

  18. Terry Carroll-avatar

Great player. The free version is great, but this deserves paying for, so I bought the pro version just to show my appreciation. Edit: A recent update had a bug, and the developer provided me with a release candidate with a fix (that worked) within hours of my reporting it (the currently available version includes that fix). That's service. My only regret is that I've already given him five stars and can't bump the rating higher for such excellent responsiveness.

  19. Robert Max-avatar

I really like this app, it's simple to use. but, I was wondering if you could add one feature to it, a volume stabalizer? each song has a different volume and because of that, i have to adjust the volume constantly. If you could make it adjust the volume on the fly, while each song cross fades into the other, it would be the perfect app.

  20. David Jackson-avatar

Works really well, and so much better than the others. It doesn't try to second guess what you want. The first time use it like a file explorer to find your media folder, then tell it to always start there in future. Then simply play what you want, either individual tracks, or whole albums (or folders). I use it mostly for podcasts - because the Apple iPod system is just so dire, but it's fine for music too. Worth 5 stars and well worth paying for.

  21. Lyle rollings-avatar

Been the greatest player until of late. my s9 plus got the crappy one ui snd miserable pie update. Now it is having 2 fustrating issues. The first is when I shut my truck off it continues to play so always have to open app and stop it. I have tried everything, I have used this app for years and is the only 1 use. Sadly the stress of the app continuing to play after disconnect from bluetooth and then unlocking phone and opening app to stop the music, has caused me to uninstall after years of use.

  22. Ramez Ghazzaoui-avatar

    Ramez Ghazzaoui

This is the only useful music player app I found on Google Play Store. I've tried dozens of other music players. None of them allowed me to play my music in the way I want to... By folder. Thank you for Folder Player Just PLEASE add native Chromecast support. Casting the phone audio through the Home app isn't the same thing. For example, I can't tell the Google Assistant to pause the music when it's not playing directly through an app with native Chromecast support.

  23. Ruben Vandewalle-avatar

Having used folder player free for some time and being happy with it, i recently switched to the pro version. Now not so happy anymore because now the player jumps to the next song in the middle of the actual playing song. Getting some error code "keycode 87". Before uninstalling the pro version i would like your advice.

  24. Mike Ajello-avatar

Best app ever for music. Fast easy and "ok google" commands work too! So many features just have to try it.

  25. Bijoy Roychowdhury-avatar

    Bijoy Roychowdhury

This is a simple and functional app I have been using since I first used Android back in 2013. Somewhere down the line , I decided that when I had money of my own, I would support this app,and it would be my first app purchase. And here I am, writing this review for the Pro version!

  26. ivan p-avatar

I only use folder players, whether on my computer or on the phone. Most of the time they are fine pieces of software with all focus on convenience. This one is a prime example. Love it. Got the paid version because it's my most used app.

  27. Doug Grumann-avatar

Have used this player for years and love it - best for people who are smarter than playlists.

  28. Cafe Art-avatar

Perfect app for all my songs. So easy to just play the specific folder, rather than it listing every song like gallery does for pictures. I am very organized and I put everything in designated folders. Thank you, great job!

  29. Rraul Ramoz-avatar

I'm totally satisfied 😊 with this product. I listen to mp3 audio books mostly. All features included in this application make the listening experience a delight.

  30. Salvatore Fattoross-avatar

This is the best music folder player that I have used on my phone. While the free version is very good, the pro version is tops! It makes one wonder why other apps can't do this so easily!

  31. David Lewins-avatar

Excellent music player, does everything that I want. I have used the free app for over two years but have now gone to Pro....certainly worth the few pennies for the upgrade.

  32. Dane Charlton-avatar

    Very worthwhile purchase.

  33. Jorge Watanabe-avatar

Great app, but crossfade function produces a "crack" sound, so I can not use it. (Paid version). Very disappointing.

  34. Scott Rubin-avatar

Hi. Love the player but don't seem able to write a review! I don't want a folder play item on my Android motorola-where there is a play button and fast forward every time I login. Thanks.

  35. Nils Warnken-avatar

I like this player and have used it for years. It would be great if playlists could be created from tags and/or play-next function. Re-ordering in the make-next list would be nice too.

  36. Raul Cardoza-avatar

Best folder oriented (instead of tag based) music player. Fast and handles large file sets. Works with headphones that have remote pause button. Works with Bluetooth speakers volume controls.

  37. F H-avatar

It's the best music player I have found. It's clean, functional and has a lot of options to better suit your preferences.

  38. Mutt Fitness-avatar

I've been using the free version for a while and am very happy with its functionality. bought the pro version to support the developer.

  39. Yan Fraiman-avatar

Got the Pro version. Good app, but after last update - CRASHES ON SONG CHANGE (manual PLAY button press, when playing other song); very dissapointing...

  40. T Szelągowski-avatar

Great app. Rearranging songs in queue would be a great enhancement of functionality.

  41. Nathan Miller-avatar

Had a little trouble with it on galaxy S8. Emailed peter and he fixed it right away tho. great app. just awesome.

  42. Ádám Bérces-avatar

Снова появились "gaps" при воспроизведении! Подхватил это два апдейта назад. Про версия. После последнего обновления, день отыграл нормально, аномалии замечены не были, потом начал глючить. На других плеерах это не наблюдается

I am deleting the previous review from a few years ago when I had a Galaxy s7. The app didn't work well with that phone. Now I have an LgV20. App is better than the stock app or the Jet Audio app I also use. Ive tried about every prominent music player out there. _ 11-18-2019 That didn't last long. The app doesn't work correctly again. It's off and on.

Stable bomb-proof reliable... what else is there to say. Seems to have all the little toys we like... one thing it could do with is a level stabilizer so all times play at the same volume regardless of their recorded differences. Not enough of a problem to steal a star

  74. Fred Gilbert-avatar

    Buggy, buggy, buggy

  75. A Google user-avatar

Kept this app after changing 3 devices. Nothing comes even close. All the other apps want me to store my music in other ways but folders work for me and this app works for me, too. One of the few apps that never have stability issues and I have hundreds of songs in dozens of folders.

  76. Joe S.-avatar

Great app. I use it everyday. GREAT addition of the "off" button in the menu-shade. Keep up the wonderful work.

  77. Waz H-avatar

Best 'Folder' based music app out far. A well made app which is very easy to use and packed with intuitive features. So good I've purchased the 'Pro' version. Brilliant!

  78. Lance Todd-avatar

Excellent music app; best I've tried for ease of use.

  79. Gary Bouwman-avatar

Great app. It's simple but powerful.

  80. Martin Stepanek-avatar

    Martin Stepanek

After years of use it is still IMHO the best app for offline music playback.

  81. Moshe Cohen-avatar

Started playing on its own, maybe because I pressed a keyboard shortcut? But it doesn't have any keyboard shortcut definitions,,,, Playback stops after several songs without any apparent reason or explanation. Maybe it's the BT speaker's fault, but i would expect a report explaining the source of the problem so i can fix it...

  82. Al Pearson-avatar

Had Folder Player since it first came out. It only gets better and better. A must have if all your music is folder based. Best music player out there by far. Buy the pro version and support the Dev.

  83. Andrey Yakubovskiy-avatar

    Andrey Yakubovskiy

I've been using this app since my first Android device and really like it. Thanks a lot. Got a small issue on my newest device (Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s) - volume decrease (or rather drop, approximately 30%) after receiving any notifications. The volume indicator doesn't show any decrease, though. Volume goes back to normal after pressing volune down key.

  85. Robert Sherbine-avatar

    Robert Sherbine

Simple and straightforward interface for those who want to organize their music by folders.

  86. Kris Sittler-avatar

Great app, lousy widget. I am really big on folders for my music. It is a showstopper if I can't access them all the time in music apps. Folder Player Pro works great for me. It reads my sdmicro card. I can add more folders to the home screen. I don't think that I could do that in the free version. Tags make it possible to create playlists. I love the little "Where was I" button which takes me back to where I was. It doesn't show genres, artists, albums, etc, but those are not important to me. It has a simple equalizer. It does not have the glitzy bells and whistle of some other apps, and I consider that a perk. The one fly in the ointment is the widget. It says to touch to open the app instead of showing the current or last wong. I got it to show the song, but when I skipped to the next song from the widget, the song name didn't change.

  87. peter barton-avatar

Amazing and simple app for local music, but A few days after the recent update, playback is no longer gapless? I'm not sure why it would be removed or what happened. It's probably a problem on my end but I just don't know what to do to fix it.

  88. Toby Lockyer-avatar

This is the only player which could get to my SD card where my music is stored. You will be surprised how many media players just can't do this. One improvement would be to be able to search based on artist and play all. For example I have seven albums of a certain artist but I can only play one album. *Update* new search function doesn't seem to work. Still my go to player though

  89. Tristan Parks-avatar

Was upset because of battery performance, I have the Moto Z with the battery expansion and this app killed both at 100% within two hours

  91. Jon-avatar

Best music player app for someone like me who organizes their collection by folders.

  92. Sally Giffney-avatar

What did you do to this app? It used to play smoothly, with few problems, but now it stops playing all the time and a notification comes up telling me to use voice commands, which is a feature I don't use, because I have a speech disorder. There isn't even the option to turn it off.

  93. James Chin-avatar

If you want your music folders organised a specific way this player will keep your folders organised as is and music sorted as is. Simple interface and easy to use

  94. Robert Holzman-avatar

Does exactly what it says, works flawlessly for me. Get the pro version because it's worth every penny.

Please roll back / debug the latest update, now the correct song will not play when I push play, it will randomly jump to another song in the folder. Also on the notification view it's impossible to pause / start a song. The buttons are no longer active. EDIT: after installing the update everything works good again. I was part of the preview group and had some bugs at first, but after installing the latest update it works like before - as it should. Changing to 5 stars, thanks dev!

  96. Jesse Hudson-avatar

Super awesome. Worth the money to support the developer. Been using the free version since it came out! Bout time I support. Thanks!

  97. Mikhail Fursov-avatar

  98. Moz Le-avatar

It's awesome, does exactly what I want with my few thousand tracks.
