Reviews From google play store

Having used folder player free for some time and being happy with it, i recently switched to the pro version. Now not so happy anymore because now the player jumps to the next song in the middle of the actual playing song. Getting some error code "keycode 87". Before uninstalling the pro version i would like your advice.

Excellent music player, does everything that I want. I have used the free app for over two years but have now gone to Pro....certainly worth the few pennies for the upgrade.

Best folder oriented (instead of tag based) music player. Fast and handles large file sets. Works with headphones that have remote pause button. Works with Bluetooth speakers volume controls.

Had a little trouble with it on galaxy S8. Emailed peter and he fixed it right away tho. great app. just awesome.

Great app, but crossfade function produces a "crack" sound, so I can not use it. (Paid version). Very disappointing.

Well I have to say that this ticks all the boxes for me. I have an old Samsung phone which I am using just as an MP3 player in the car. I have this connected via the 3.5mm jack and charging via USB (my car does not have Bluetooth). I already have all my music (as MP3's) on an SD Card saved into 2 folders - Music and Podcasts. With the Tags feature I am able to switch between the 2 folders and play where I left off. I have purchased the Pro version a) because it is a thank you to the developer and b) because now my music pauses and starts automatically when I turn the engine on and off. For anyone who wants to play music using their folder structure, I cannot fault it. Thank you Peter S.

I really like this app, it's simple to use. but, I was wondering if you could add one feature to it, a volume stabalizer? each song has a different volume and because of that, i have to adjust the volume constantly. If you could make it adjust the volume on the fly, while each song cross fades into the other, it would be the perfect app.

This is the best music folder player that I have used on my phone. While the free version is very good, the pro version is tops! It makes one wonder why other apps can't do this so easily!

I've been using the free version for years and just decided to buy the pro version to support the developer, the free version is awesome too. The app is for people who prefer to stay in control of how your audio files are organized (in folders). It's very convenient, lots of features, and now it even supports android auto. Highly recommend!

I like this player and have used it for years. It would be great if playlists could be created from tags and/or play-next function. Re-ordering in the make-next list would be nice too.

New problem on my galaxy note 4. When skipping multiple songs the app freezes (but music still plays). Edit: yes, it now happens everytime sooner or later. Edit: when playing folder itself. Edit: tried that, no effect. But the app is messed up from the time it froze. Now I cant even skip one song. It gets stuck. Edit: I will send a video

This is a simple and functional app I have been using since I first used Android back in 2013. Somewhere down the line , I decided that when I had money of my own, I would support this app,and it would be my first app purchase. And here I am, writing this review for the Pro version!

Excellent, does what it says which is just what I wanted from a music player.

newest update fixes back button losing your place. this app is now perfect.

Great. But crossfading is not synchronized

Been the greatest player until of late. my s9 plus got the crappy one ui snd miserable pie update. Now it is having 2 fustrating issues. The first is when I shut my truck off it continues to play so always have to open app and stop it. I have tried everything, I have used this app for years and is the only 1 use. Sadly the stress of the app continuing to play after disconnect from bluetooth and then unlocking phone and opening app to stop the music, has caused me to uninstall after years of use.

I only use folder players, whether on my computer or on the phone. Most of the time they are fine pieces of software with all focus on convenience. This one is a prime example. Love it. Got the paid version because it's my most used app.

I'm totally satisfied 😊 with this product. I listen to mp3 audio books mostly. All features included in this application make the listening experience a delight.

Works really well, and so much better than the others. It doesn't try to second guess what you want. The first time use it like a file explorer to find your media folder, then tell it to always start there in future. Then simply play what you want, either individual tracks, or whole albums (or folders). I use it mostly for podcasts - because the Apple iPod system is just so dire, but it's fine for music too. I would have given it five stars, but the "Volume Control Trick to skip to the next trac

This was the single most important app for me to fully adopt Android. I have tons of music that is not regular Pop albums, so the tagging is all over the place. I use ripped music, music my friends have made and many formats and all the other players were too needy and dependent on MP3 tagging. This player is smart, smartly written and it just works. Without this, I'd be going mad.

Very simple and useful functionality. While the tagging system is nice for making playlists, I place my music in folders according to artist (when I have a lot of one artist) or by a loose playlist-type collection. So I don't actually use it often, I find the folder functionality way more useful. Since nested folders play as youd expect (hit play one a folder to play any files and folders nested within it) my music is arranged in a useful tree system. Easily the best music playing software

Great player. The free version is great, but this deserves paying for, so I bought the pro version just to show my appreciation. Edit: A recent update had a bug, and the developer provided me with a release candidate with a fix (that worked) within hours of my reporting it (the currently available version includes that fix). That's service. My only regret is that I've already given him five stars and can't bump the rating higher for such excellent responsiveness.

This is the only useful music player app I found on Google Play Store. I've tried dozens of other music players. None of them allowed me to play my music in the way I want to... By folder. Thank you for Folder Player Just PLEASE add native Chromecast support. Casting the phone audio through the Home app isn't the same thing. For example, I can't tell the Google Assistant to pause the music when it's not playing directly through an app with native Chromecast support.

Perfect app for all my songs. So easy to just play the specific folder, rather than it listing every song like gallery does for pictures. I am very organized and I put everything in designated folders. Thank you, great job!

I've been using the free version for a while and am very happy with its functionality. bought the pro version to support the developer.

It's the best music player I have found. It's clean, functional and has a lot of options to better suit your preferences.

Got the Pro version. Good app, but after last update - CRASHES ON SONG CHANGE (manual PLAY button press, when playing other song); very dissapointing...

Great purchase, but latest update is very buggy for me. Keeps crashing and restarting when it initialises the playlist.

Great app. Rearranging songs in queue would be a great enhancement of functionality.

Very good, but i missing buttom for play 5/10 seconds back

Upgraded to pro yet still does not play folder to folder after updated settings. (Via bluetooth)

Thank you for updates love this app. Wouldn't use nothing else. highly recommended. A+++

Select a folder with music and it plays it. It is my goto music player.

Very nicely done. Good support from the developer!

First app I ever paid for. It's 'that' good.

Really really good however you come acoss ocasional bugs

Its simple to use.works great

Have the free app and love it. So now I'm supporting this developer.

Everything I want and need in a music app!

Play order got messed up. Stopped using this player. Moved to MX

Please give an option to save equilizer preset.

Fabulous, works just how I want.

Does what it says on the can

Hi. Love the player but don't seem able to write a review! I don't want a folder play item on my Android motorola-where there is a play button and fast forward every time I login. Thanks.

Plays my local music collection exactly the way I want.

I am deleting the previous review from a few years ago when I had a Galaxy s7. The app didn't work well with that phone. Now I have an LgV20. An old model phone known for its outstanding sound. I purchased it new still in the box. This app works excellent with the LG (and with my Amazon tablet) . Much better than the stock app or the Jet Audio app I also use. Ive tried about every prominent music player out there. I'll stick with these until they no longer work. Not perfect but still the best.

best

Stable bomb-proof reliable... what else is there to say. Seems to have all the little toys we like... one thing it could do with is a level stabilizer so all times play at the same volume regardless of their recorded differences. Not enough of a problem to steal a star

perfect.

Buggy, buggy, buggy

Kept this app after changing 3 devices. Nothing comes even close. All the other apps want me to store my music in other ways but folders work for me and this app works for me, too. One of the few apps that never have stability issues and I have hundreds of songs in dozens of folders.

Great app. I use it everyday. GREAT addition of the "off" button in the menu-shade. Keep up the wonderful work.

Best 'Folder' based music app out there..by far. A well made app which is very easy to use and packed with intuitive features. So good I've purchased the 'Pro' version. Brilliant!

Excellent music app; best I've tried for ease of use.

Great app. It's simple but powerful.

After years of use it is still IMHO the best app for offline music playback.

Started playing on its own, maybe because I pressed a keyboard shortcut? But it doesn't have any keyboard shortcut definitions,,,, Playback stops after several songs without any apparent reason or explanation. Maybe it's the BT speaker's fault, but i would expect a report explaining the source of the problem so i can fix it...

I've been using this app since my first Android device and really like it. Thanks a lot. Got a small issue on my newest device (Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s) - volume decrease (or rather drop, approximately 30%) after receiving any notifications. The volume indicator doesn't show any decrease, though. Volume goes back to normal after pressing volune down key.

Had Folder Player since it first came out. It only gets better and better. A must have if all your music is folder based. Best music player out there by far. Buy the pro version and support the Dev.

I've tried alot of music players but this is the best one by far, well done to all the team for making such a great app

Simple and straightforward interface for those who want to organize their music by folders.

Great app, lousy widget. I am really big on folders for my music. It is a showstopper if I can't access them all the time in music apps. Folder Player Pro works great for me. It reads my sdmicro card. I can add more folders to the home screen. I don't think that I could do that in the free version. Tags make it possible to create playlists. I love the little "Where was I" button which takes me back to where I was. It doesn't show genres, artists, albums, etc, but those are not important to me. It has a simple equalizer. It does not have the glitzy bells and whistle of some other apps, and I consider that a perk. The one fly in the ointment is the widget. It says to touch to open the app instead of showing the current or last wong. I got it to show the song, but when I skipped to the next song from the widget, the song name didn't change.

Amazing and simple app for local music, but A few days after the recent update, playback is no longer gapless? I'm not sure why it would be removed or what happened. It's probably a problem on my end but I just don't know what to do to fix it.

This is the only player which could get to my SD card where my music is stored. You will be surprised how many media players just can't do this. One improvement would be to be able to search based on artist and play all. For example I have seven albums of a certain artist but I can only play one album. *Update* new search function doesn't seem to work. Still my go to player though

Was upset because of battery performance, I have the Moto Z with the battery expansion and this app killed both at 100% within two hours

Many thanks Peter taking the time to look into this working Perfect!!

Best music player app for someone like me who organizes their collection by folders.

What did you do to this app? It used to play smoothly, with few problems, but now it stops playing all the time and a notification comes up telling me to use voice commands, which is a feature I don't use, because I have a speech disorder. There isn't even the option to turn it off.

If you want your music folders organised a specific way this player will keep your folders organised as is and music sorted as is. Simple interface and easy to use

Does exactly what it says, works flawlessly for me. Get the pro version because it's worth every penny.

Please roll back / debug the latest update, now the correct song will not play when I push play, it will randomly jump to another song in the folder. Also on the notification view it's impossible to pause / start a song. The buttons are no longer active. EDIT: after installing the update everything works good again. I was part of the preview group and had some bugs at first, but after installing the latest update it works like before - as it should. Changing to 5 stars, thanks dev!

Super awesome. Worth the money to support the developer. Been using the free version since it came out! Bout time I support. Thanks!

It's awesome, does exactly what I want with my few thousand tracks.

reverse colors or reverse color theme. possible ? thx

I know what and where my music is. This app lets me play my music with out all the bloated eye candy in other apps.

My music is sorted by file name, not track name, and Folder Player plays it in order. I paid for the Pro version just because I wanted to support the developer; I don't care about extra features. I reported a minor UI bug with an easy workaround and that didn't affect most users, and Peter wouldn't rest until he had it figured out and fixed, in about a day. Awesome developer!

Thank you for bringing the folder favorites! If I may suggest another feature: opposite of favorites ;) "hate/dislike" button. It will mark some songs as "disliked" and in future the player will skip them although they will still show in the list (with some flag perhaps). It's a soft version of "delete" button. It could be very useful when you just don't want to listen to a song, but not necessary delete it. Thanks again! Love your program.

YESSSS !!!!!!!!! No more putting up with nonsense tag based players !!! Simple and no frills app, will play your music exactly the way you see it laid down on your directories. Delete all other players, this is all you need ! -- I was using the free version, but since I enjoy this player, let's support the developer and buy it.

Excellent music player, which does the essentials well with no unnecessary frills.

Huzzah for cruft-free software that does one thing well. I was recently surprised to see the original tinyplayer disappear recently and casting about for a replacement; fortunately, this is even better.

Best player I encountered. It's perfect for my needs! I simply cannot find the option anymore to raise volume above some saftey threshhold. Has this been removed?

The best! Would be nice if you could long press folders, then select few of them so you could play more folders at once.

Love this player. Allows to customize nearly all aspects of interacting (Auto-lock, change volume for GPS app etc)

Now, to install on phone number four... I've been using Folder Player since pretty much it's beginning, the PRO version for two years and continuously the free version, when I quickly install and pay no attention to the word PRO. But both versions are equally good, so for me, this is a must... I look forward to writing a new review in 2019, with my next phone. 😎

Excellent app. If only there were a playing screen showing the track's album art, so I can know which folder is being played, especially when there're a lot of subfolders.

Only player I use. Try others once in a while but nothing else compares with ease of use. Good support, I put a question on the web site and waa answered almost immediately.

Have been using this app for years. First app I load when I change phones. Simple. Does what it does and nothing more. I gave nefertiti been able to find another that just plays and works.

Great app, great idea, too. Decided to support the developer and get the paid Pro version. But not sure if it's any better than the free version. Crashes, stops unexpectedly. Still doesn't play .wma files

This app is close to perfection. However I am still unable to delete playing track. I want to physically delete!

This is the player I have been looking for. You can play the music organized in your organized folders. Absolutely AWESOME!

Love it. Erik with marshmellow 6.0

Thankyou for the reply and fix. 5 star app all day long. Prev comment - I like the player, so i went for pro but now its not picking up the sd card. Help

Still maintain this is the best music/folder player there is. Simple user interface but as capable as any desktop based music player.

Easy to use an i love it 🖒🖒🖒🖒

The free version is more than good enough. Bought pro version just to support developer

I went pro as i like this app. I would have gave more than 3 stars but for some reason when I click on equaliser it tells me it's not available as it's locked by the other app. Why is this? When I pay for something I expect everything to work. Hence why I gave only 3 stars

The best folder player, indeed

Awesome player. However, seems to crash frequently on Cyanogen 13.1.2, especially when initially picking a track.

I've been using it for a number of years and I just love it. Moved to PRO to support the team.
