FlorApp

With a smartphone, entering observations has never been so enjoyable. Info Flora is therefore pleased to provide a free App for entering your field observations of all species of the Swiss Flora.

During your excursions, even without telephone network, you can enter your observations, locate them thanks the GPS of your device and link them to pictures. As soon as you want and you have an Internet connection, you can send your observations to info Flora and consult them on your Online Fieldbook (obs.infoflora.ch).

Your observations will be sent to the national Centre responsible for each organism groups: plants and stoneworts to Info Flora, mosses to NISM, mushrooms to Swissfungi, and lichens to SwissLichens. You can manage all your observations in the Online Fieldbook of Info Flora. Observations of plants and stoneworts can always be modified via the Online Fieldbook. Observations of mosses, mushrooms and lichens are also visible in the Online Fieldbook of Info Flora, but can be modified only during one week after the transfer from FlorApp. Later modifications must be announced directly to the national Centre responsible for the organism group.

Info Flora: the Foundation Info Flora manages the data and information centre of the flora of Switzerland and is supported by the Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN). By submitting your observations to Info Flora, you do not just fill your field book with observations, you also help to document the distribution of species of the Swiss flora in time and space. You contribute to make the distribution maps provided by Info Flora more current and accurate. Depending on the level of confidentiality chosen, your data will be made available to the cantons, communes and other actors active in land planning, research and conservation.
