Firefox Browser for Android is automatically private and incredibly fast. Thousands of online trackers are following you every day, collecting information about where you go online and slowing down your speed. Firefox blocks over 2000 of these trackers by default and there are ad blocker add-ons available if you want to customize your browser even more. With Firefox, you’ll get the security you deserve and the speed you need in a private, mobile browser.

Firefox is faster than ever and gives you a powerful web browser that protects your privacy. Keep what’s personal private with Enhanced Tracking Protection, which automatically blocks over 2000 online trackers from invading your privacy. With Firefox, you don’t have to dig in your privacy settings, everything is set up automatically, but if you like to be in control, you can choose from the many ad blocker add-ons available for the browser. We designed Firefox with smart browsing features that let you take your privacy, passwords, and bookmarks with you safely wherever you go.

Firefox gives you greater privacy protection while you’re on the web. Block third-party cookies and unwanted ads that follow you around the web with Enhanced Tracking Protection. Search in Private Browsing mode and you won’t be traced or tracked — your private browsing history is automatically erased when you're done.

- Add Firefox across your devices for secure, private and seamless browsing.
- Sync your devices to take your favorite bookmarks, saved logins and browsing history wherever you go.
- Send open tabs between mobile and desktop.
- Firefox makes password management easy by remembering your passwords across devices.

- Open as many tabs as you like without losing track of your open Web pages.

I use FF with no problems on PC, so I tried using FF Stable on Android, but it started crashing every 1 minute, even if I don't open anything. So I switched to beta, which worked fine for a few hours, and suddenly I can't open a single page. I get Address Not Found no matter what. My internet works fine, as you can see I'm posting this right now. I've tried clearing app data and reinstalling and still, nothing loads. Sorry but I have to give this a pass. I'm on Galaxy Note 10, Android 10.

It's ok. For me, the biggest flaw is the new way tabs are handled. It now takes more keystrokes to do anything in this browser. Popups are hidden unless you click on the little numerical tab thing. My wife didn't even know she had over 70 tabs open until I told her how it worked. It's simply not intuitive at all. Please believe, I'm all for improvements, and I'm sure there are many underlying in this browser, but who cares if it's a pain to use.

What I like: The reader view is excellent and far better than Chrome's. Animations are better and satisfying. The share options is fantastic. I just love how it has my most frequent apps while still allowing me to have a separate group of apps to scroll through. For what I use my browser for, it alone is a reason to switch from Chrome. What I don't like: No option to delete history by the last hour, last day, etc. In dark mode, the splash when you search is still white and it's jarring.

  4. Arnab Goswami-avatar

Please add the ability create empty tabs. As of now that's not possible. And a toggle to enable/disable the animations. Update: The new gesture for switching tab is fantastic but it has bugs. There is glitch every time you switch a tab, it's not smooth. For a split sec a white screen appears, it's kinda glitchy. I hope it will improve. On the second note, when are you bringing back print site back? save the page as PDF, those features were amazing. Bring those back.

New Version feels like a step back. Was happily running the old version as long as I could but accidentally updated it. After such a long time, common tabs on start page still missing. I literally don't use anything else, now it's gone. Order of tabs schon feels wrong, backward. I did set the location bar back to top, tried hard with the bottom placement but just isn't for me. I guess this setting should also change the tab order. Also a bug: pages don't load after new start of browser.

Wow, FF is getting steadily worse! Zooming pictures no longer works. Scrolling is buggered. Somewhat related: if the menu bar is hidden, link clicks don't register. Basic universal functionality is STILL missing! Pull-down to refresh should have been there from day one. I've been using FF since M0.7, and lately it feels like they're losing their way.

Was good while it lasted. Major UI regressions in the new version. 1. No quit option. 2. New tab from tab button. 3. No back menu. Many sites redirect, so this is a HUGE regression, often making going back impossible. 4. Can't scroll down tabs w/o scrolling up in the same motion. Tab UI FUBAR. 6. Bookmarks hidden. 7. FORCES ANIMATIONS. 8. Can't reorder tabs. 9. Downloads more hidden than normal. 10. Uses much more memory than it used to, often closing tabs with audio playing, or open forms. ...

I really enjoy the visuals of the new design, but it seems like a lot of features were lost along with it for some reason. Tab syncing is now one way only. So I can send tabs to other machines I've logged into with my Firefox profile but I can't open synced tabs on my phone from other MACHINES. Nearly all plug-ins just straight up disappeared. DEFINITE 5 star if some of the missing features come back. UPDATE: tab syncing is back, Firefox is rad!

  9. Julia Sanchez-avatar

Lately I can't even load a page half the time, I enter the URL and firefox doesn't even start loading the page. It just sits there. I close it and try again and half the time it loads a page, the other half it just does nothing at all. Pages have also become slower to render and much buggier.

I owe the dev team an apology, I left a review earlier saying that Firefox was massively slower than the competitors, but after some more testing, I discovered the sluggishness was due to Firefox's "Dark Reader" addon. Once I turned that off, the difference was staggering, Firefox was MUCH faster. Definitely the best browser around at the moment, having uBlock alone gives it a massive step over the rest. The new UI is a massive improvement too.

Loss of Top Sites, a new tab management protocol and the inflexible interface are retrograde changes from FF68. I've checked back for upgrades for a month but still have about 25% of the user experience I enjoyed before. If the "upgrade" was to compete with Chrome, you blew it... You've sent me to Chrome.

Your support page is great.. This update is very appreciative. You heard users. Your designers understand users problem and responded positively. "I'm unhappy with the new Firefox" article in support page (what's new) is it's proof. Please continue with the same attitude. And be revolutionary like this new Firefox. Thanks for Download Page. Please add a share button to share the downloaded image or document easily. It's difficult to find it in file manager.

FFfA 82 Beta 1. Really great improvements! Thanks for giving back adress bar and ingenious feature to swipe it to switch tabs! Great! Things left to fix: 1, the white screen of death while loading a page. 2, give access to collections from address bar or menu. As it is now I need to close tab and push plus icon before gain access to my collection again. 3, also, collection in private tab PLEASE! 4, addons. Why so few still? Otherwise I think FFfA is great and on the right track 🥳

The new versions have a TON of issues - AND MOZILLA KNOWS IT! They say so on their blog! Inexcuseably, it's WAY slower. A buncha sites are now broken & simply won't work (like for paying bills & video meetings) so I keep having to go to Chrome. I can no longer use a bunch of features of my phone's physical keyboard (like scrolling & ctrl+F) The list for tabs is inefficient, I can't move tabs around, collections is silly, the new tabs screen is useless, & the address bar doesnt go away anymore.

  15. Secundus Maximus-avatar

    Secundus Maximus

Unusable as a serious browser! Just as with the non-beta version, firefox remains unusable. Fx has been my primary browser across all my systems, but the upgrade to version 80+ just broke everything! Apart from losing functionality of all important privacy and web-annoyance related add-ons and their settings, also this beta keeps freezing sporadically upon page load. After that point, Fx stops working completely and must be killed in Android to revive it - hopefully. Mozilla is killing Firefox!

First thank you for finally bringing back a adjustable font size. All new so I'll start with 4 items 1) what happened to add-on search. Lots of add-ons are missing definitely needs better Adblock add-ons 2) icons on the home page are too small can we make them little larger 3) separate site data and browser history, they weren't together another web browsers that should not be together in Firefox two vastly different items. 4) get rid of the Firefox and private mask on top of most used.

  17. NoMansDream-avatar

I'm not sure what it is, the dark mode, custom add-ons, collections everythings' fine but at times there's these moments when video previews are in general just slower. For example, if i'm using Reddit and want to open a giphy link in my browser, the same gif would open in an instant with Chrome but it visibly longer for FF to do it. Not sure if its an experimental feature to save data or is it the add-ons making it slower but it's a bit sad considering most of the other things are so well built

  18. Detlev Conrad Mielczarek-avatar

Yay - finally the autohide urlbar can be disabled to remain always visible. The interface might still not be "everybody's cup of tea", for example with the bookmarks hidden in the menu. (And is there autoclose tabs on minimise without the explicit "menu-quit" yet?) However the update to fenix has improved performance and thus I am once again happy with my Firefox and its usage overall making it once again highly recommened as a mobile browser.

differences between release & beta are improving, THANKS. Good that tabs are synching now. Needed/highly desirable extensions haven't been ported. Can't find roadmap & dates. There is MUCH to do to have everything migrated quickly as is being asserted. I don't want to get stuck with this new version partially converted and the current version unavailable because it's been officially replaced.

This is worse than the previous version, looks nice but less functional, lost critical add-ons, not happy, but I'm sure it's more secure and will get there and I'll get used to the new layout so I'll bear with it. Not working at all now, please fix this asap, recently donated to Mozilla too so not happy

  21. Róbert Dávid-avatar

Better than the release, but still insanely worse usability than old versions: bookmarks is too many clicks. Recent pages are broken (I have no idea why it list those pages, definitely not the recent ones). Pages are broken. And definitely not faster than previous versions.

  22. Steve Shanafelt-avatar

I keep hoping Mozilla will actually listen to their users. Thus far, no such luck. Beta is still doubling down on bafflingly bad design decisions. I guess they're just stuck in the sunk-cost fallacy at this point. That's unfortunate. It was a 5-star app just a month ago, but I don't see myself ever returning to it at this point.

  23. Gabe Go-avatar

Download it in hopes of better version than production UX. Nope. Why show history as tabs. Add to delete history option "immediately". As I see it the Samsung browser gives more functionality. I can print, make PDF's kill browsing history when app is closed, setup home landing page. With 99% of addons gone you have definitely took the Antifa approach and is why I say fair well firefox after years of happiness. Just don't f up the pc version. Oh Yeah we use firefox because it's not like Crome!

  24. Sam S-avatar

But if you could remove the "Add Widget to home screen "feature that literally acts as a pop-up on my entire screen (kinda opposite of what I thought u guys was trying to do here) telling me to install a widget. For example you have one for private browsing, I've seen ddgo has one, eBay, I'm sure many others. Or at least maybe make it slightly more clear which flag to tick 1/0 in about.config

As an avid Firefox user, I've appreciated every bit of the beta rendition of the app. Consistent updates, great future-forward features, and altogether well-done. Of course the new add-on system is taking time for developers to upgrade to, but security should always be placed first. Excited to see where the future of the web takes us!

  26. LD75-avatar

currently a 4 for me because of the add-ons not being supported by the update. I have always loved how powerful and user-friendly Firefox always has been, with a great support community. It is what you want it to be. I have always been a swiss army knife set up type. Thank you for creating a great platform and also the developers who make all of the add-ons, extensions, etc..

New to Ff. I like the UI so far, though the limited add-on list and no search capabilities for others is strange. The main reason I DL'd it was for its supposed capability to cast to Roku, but that doesn't work at all. Struggling to see a reason to keep the app....

Been pleased using beta sense Feb. After repeated updates began to become buggy. . After Sept 2020 update, links displayed no longer work, search results load but links inactive...cant navagate other than slow tool bar. Tried delete nost data accept bookmarks. Used android settins menu to delete cache and tried remove battery depressing power. Started Safe Mode ran Cleaner and Goggle play scan. Ran ful scan Malwarebytes and Internet Security, possibly help Force FF Version change recognition.

Feedback and suggestions: ⭐ Split the toolbar into search address bar at the top AND toolbar at the bottom with buttons (Home, Refresh, Search, Tab, and Three dot menu) similar to Firefox lite or Chrome duet (under flag feature). ✨ Swipe down to refresh. ✨ Remember bookmark position where I left the bookmark folder. ✨ Periodically clear specified browsing data similar to DuckduckGo (Add it under the name automation and move clear on exit option under this too).

Regardless of the fact it's the Beta/testing version of Firefox; the stability, flexibility, and security is there while also enjoying features not yet rolled out to stable Firefox. I love that the search bar/menu in at the bottom; with screens so tall it's cumbersome to reach to the top all the time.

This is the all powerful and customisable desktop browser ... stripped of all its features! 😱 Bye bye add-ons, bye bye tab overview on start, bye bye customisability. It would have been fine to hide advanced options, but everything a power-user could wish for just got removed completely. Firefox Android is restrictive, simplistic, and patronizing 👿

Fast. I like the collections feature. Can we get a way to rearrange the tabs in the collections? When you open a website using collection, you have to refresh the page again to see the latest updates. Why?

  33. Pythplays-avatar

So far definitely an improvement from the older Firefox mobile. Idk if the app of my phone but whenever I download stuff through firefox I can't dismiss the notification unless I open it up. Also would be nice when I open up a new tab to have the number of tabs I have available without have to go dig for it.

This version also allowed a virus to show up at bootup inside of the firefox app. Same as before on other version....As of now not impressed it is less not better. GARBAGE NOW! Highly recommend DELETE and NEVER USE this completely neutered browser. TOR browser with a more dynamic version of Firefox is a better and safer choice. I would like an option: for those who want to view open tabs as collection list can turn it on and otherwise there should be an option for grid(two column view like in previous versions). Why would you remove addon search option? I can only see a few addons here.

Doesn't have a password generator. Can't remove individual items from the awesome at via longpress. Text selection for copying is unusably jumpy. The share sheet shares with the wrong app half the time. Still better than Chrome because of uBlock Origin.

amazing work. having tje option to choose which mode to launch in (reg vs. private) would be great. it sucks because now it opens in the last mode it was in. so if you have the option to open links in private tabs, it ends up launching always in private since odds are last time FF launched it was in private mode.

I love the new UI. Right now I only have a few pet peeves: when loading a new page while using dark mode, the screen still sometimes switches to a blinding white screen before loading the page. I like it, but none of my tabs save their spot on the page when I go back to them. I don't want to have to scroll all the way back down, it should remember where I left off. You also can't quickly refresh the page with gestures. These issues alone makes the browser much less usable for my personal browsing habits.

I am trying the beta because of the sh#tty update to the stable version. I am disappointed to say that the beta version is slower than stable version and has the same awful experience as stable. If someone is reading this, please rollback your stable version. I used to be a strong advocate for FF, not any more. I wish someone forks your code and comes up with a better browser, because firefox team has lately become complacent and arrogant. I really hope this isn't begining of the death for FF.

UPDATE: It's getting better with every new version. Good Job Mozilla. My previous review; What in the hell did you do Mozilla?? You had a near perfect browser and a uniquely huge list of extensions. All extensions I was using for years now are "Not supported". The settings are worst, most "basic" features we had in the old beta are gone. But hey... After 10 years you finally made the bookmarks manageable and easier to delete in batch. I'm speechless...

They hold a gun and shoot their own feet. Cannot move items between collections. Cannot edit tabs in collections. Collections tabs cannot remember my browsing position. Collections felt more like saved browsing history than well managed tabs! I mean, why not just give us Bookmark folders? We can move things, create folders, delete folders, rename bookmarks and sync bookmarks! The bookmarks folders acts exactly like collections with much more matured features. Why reinvent the wheels?

Removed support for general addons. Mozilla, this reminds me of the XUL issue years ago. You never learn do you? You won't have a community left to disappoint if you keep this up. Add support for all addons or don't even try adding support at all. This half-baked idea is just as bad as the dozens of others Mozilla has had recently. I wish palemoon were still on Android right now.

Still offers less functionality than previous version. The return of support for No-Script is welcome, but the new interface is still unusable and inefficient, requiring multiple taps where only 1 was needed. Just to be clear when I say below it's exactly what it is not underneath the seekbar overlay but below it. And seekbar is almost at the very bottom of the screen. I really prefer the new looks of Firefox, it makes more sense and the search bar on the bottom is way more ergonomic! I do have some complaints that I really would like to see fixed... To start off, I'm really annoyed by the fact that I can't use addons that are specifically made for android, I will consider changing Firefox with Chrome if this doesn't get fixed as it was the real advantage of this browser. Also I would like to see a more customizable home screen and a better looking widget!

Thank you for bringing back the original top sites. It's a much better experience now. Two more wishes I have: can you show top sites in the popup right after tapping the address bar? They're still too many taps away now. And could you please make those icons bigger? This is definitely headed in the right direction. Forced to switch to this after they intentionally broke the existing Firefox app and made it non-functional. It would no longer do basic things like manage cookies or sync. This one has basically zero add-on support, no themes, is riddled with bugs, visually unappealing, and the tabs are now clunky and slow. Company dove off a cliff and if there was a viable alternative I'd be there but nothing Chrome or Chromium is that, especially on mobile. It pains me to write this truly.

The latest UI update only slightly better than stable but it regularly reloads infinite scrolling websites and forget history for tabs. The is also no bug reporting and feedback feature which is critical on a beta app. The only reason I'm still here is I don't trust google.

Unfortunately the user interface is now a useless mess. I've used Firefox on Windows and Android for ages. The Windows version remains very good but the Android version has just gone to pot. There may be users who like having no default home page and no clear view of open tabs. I'm not going to go on. New update broke a new thing. For some reason. Clicking the address has of a blank site page which failed to load makes it unclickable. Previously I could simply click and force a reload. Now, no more. Dark mode improvements. The browser shows a white screen when loading new website. This is the single most annoying issue stopping it from becoming a daily driver. There's also the issue of tab not loading. Sometimes, I need to re-click the link from address to force a load.

Firefox is disappearing into the mire that are all the other apps which access the web on Android. I use Firefox on iMac, Tablet & Smartphone. I want consistency of user experience across the platforms. I'll use v68 for as long as i can and encourage others to do so too. V80 has been stripped of usability, configurability & consistency. Also the ridiculous frequency of updates which rarely bring much other than security or bug fixes. v68 is a mature product that does what it says on the tin!

Choppy menu animations (when clicking 3 dots menu, including 3 dots menu in tab pane. Pros: New rendering engine. Really appreciate the improvements, but sometimes the state of the browser is broken, so that new sites aren't opened. It seems that the initial SSL handshake isn't started because the sites to be loaded remain insecure in the address bar and the tab window remains white. Only restarting the browser helps. Additionally the loading time is significantly slower than for chromium based android browsers. Quite unfortunate, otherwise it would be my go to mobile browser.

Skeptical but Great for a Beta Needs some finishing touches, but is fast and reliable. I don't find the need for many widgets, hence I can't say if it will slow down for other people. The layout of sites added to top sites - could used improvement by making the tiles a little bigger. When a page is opened, and you click the tab on top right side, the banner opens to see the current tab, but the curtains covers any other choices, difficult to say open another site quickly.

I like/ like to love Firefox for Android. But- 1. Let us users change the tracking protection list. We will decide if we'll like to allow Google to track us for functionality or not. There's always the exception button. 2. Bring back the add-ons. The add-ons support is what made Firefox on Android special. Also there are some major bug with site disappearing while switching between tabs. Clearly Mozilla pushed a product that was not ready.

As others are saying, the update to this app is aweful. For me, it's the tab menu. It makes absolutely no sense in a ui/ux sense. You press a button and you get a menu that is scrollable and can be dismissed with a downward swipe. It makes it impossible to look for the tab you wanted and annoying to use because I constantly dismiss the menu by accident. Secondarily, if the menu is swipe dismissable why is it not swipe motion to bring it up.

Firefox has shifted development from features the community wants to focusing on analytic data points. Gone are the days of user customizability via add-ons and we are left with a watered down, feature limited version of Firefox in Chrome's image. Folks chose Firefox for what it had offered over Chrome but it turned its back on the community in hopes of convincing everyone else its is more Chrome than the Chrome browser. No one is leaving Chrome for Firefox but the opposite is sadly true now.

Great browser. But the recent addition of screencapture blocking really sucks. Especially given how difficult the search engines make it to save an image now. Huge thumbs down for that. Also please bring back the old style addons. R.i.p. element blocker is near essential. Right now its like years ago when google turned from a privacy giant into a data hoarding and selling giant. Or when ms (live) messenger dropped its 3rd party plugin support. Nobody wants it.

Development on this seems to be going the wrong way. Lots of features missing, bookmarks feature a mess, big ugly fonts that will test your thumb to its limit. An interesting update from the old FF. Certainly helpful with the new bottom navigation UI, but I still feel it's lacking some. Tab retention is hit or miss; too frequently that the tab I was from have to refresh when I went back. Biggest miss: no loading in background when sharing a link from elsewhere. Suggestions: swipe the navbar left and right to switch between tabs; have a "jump to top/botton" button as option; make collection sync to desktop / integrate with containers.

Tabs handling is still terrible - no way to reorder them. But actual browsing seems faster than 'classic' Firefox. Tab "Collections" are a useless concept, as they don't remember your browsing state (e.g. location on the page), and so you might as well use bookmarks. The limited selection of addons is also a major dealbreaker for the full release (I can live with it on the beta), as this was Firefox's main advantage over Chrome.

Why isn't the advanced options menu included with the beta/nightly Firefox? Such as the "Page" menu, for "View Page Source", to view the HTML source code of a web page? And the majority of Firefox exts dont work with the beta. It won't even allow me to download or install any exts, apart from maybe 6 or 7. But am thankful for UBlock being compatible. Do what Samsung Internet Browser does for UI: 10/10. Tab List changes aren't fluid to use unless you make it possible to add tabs from there. Redundancies (too many windows to do one thing). Collections (must store un/loaded tabs) act too similarly to bookmarks. Can't edit bookmark position or add/use keywords. Tabs can't be rearranged. ADD 'open link in new tab' when search bar is long pressed. The app is crumbling apart so I'm excited to see how it'll change to suit user Feedback.

I was on Firefox preview and think the tab system was better a month back but the new one could be better with tweaks. For example, I dont why there's the 2 places for private tab mode now. I think a + icon for new tab should live in the URL bar permanently too. I'd also like the option to hide collections from home screen as I don't use them. There is really no point to installing this beta version anymore. If you want a dumbed down browsing experience like a Chrome-based browser then go for the Firefox Daylight stable version and if you want to soon be able to customize your browser the way you want then get Firefox Nightly. They've announced they are adding support for all of our add-ons again in Nightly this month. Crashing again, downloading a pdf!! Tab collections are nice! Most security & privacy add-ons are broken again!!! Shell game!! 1/20 version 68 was good. BUT: functions of VERSION 1 are still missing! Do an API for addons to do what SHOULD HAVE BEEN BUILT IN from the day ffox first got tabs! (API was on desktop ffox until quantum!!) I don't like when UI has too much whitespace --it feels wasteful on modern large high dpi screens The addition of a scrollbar on the tab list is great! I have way more than 200 tabs open and it makes it easier to find where i am in the list when scrolling. Nooooo! Can a toggle option be put in for the autohide url bar? Switching from multiple tabs results to a white page. I have to open the Url Bar then close it, to fix that white page glitch. "Refresh or reload" symbol takes forever to reload a disconnected page. I have to manually press "enter key" on the url bar to properly reload the page. Switching apps will kill some background tabs in Firefox Beta. Bottom bar still covers/overlaps uBlock Origin>My Filters. Dear mozilla what we are really missing even after this revamped ui is the lack of common and logical features-1) inbuilt download manager 2)lack of support of additional add ons take the examp of lass pass and bitwarden. The old firefox is so much better weighing in focus and features thus having a right balance . Work on these im literally fed up guys. You can't even include a download manager since the inception of the beta services.
