Firefox Browser for Android is automatically private and incredibly fast. Thousands of online trackers are following you every day, collecting information about where you go online and slowing down your speed. Firefox blocks over 2000 of these trackers by default and there are ad blocker add-ons available if you want to customize your browser even more. With Firefox, you’ll get the security you deserve and the speed you need in a private, mobile browser.

Firefox is faster than ever and gives you a powerful web browser that protects your privacy. Keep what’s personal private with Enhanced Tracking Protection, which automatically blocks over 2000 online trackers from invading your privacy. With Firefox, you don’t have to dig in your privacy settings, everything is set up automatically, but if you like to be in control, you can choose from the many ad blocker add-ons available for the browser. We designed Firefox with smart browsing features that let you take your privacy, passwords, and bookmarks with you safely wherever you go.

Firefox gives you greater privacy protection while you’re on the web. Block third-party cookies and unwanted ads that follow you around the web with Enhanced Tracking Protection. Search in Private Browsing mode and you won’t be traced or tracked — your private browsing history is automatically erased when you're done.

- Add Firefox across your devices for secure, private and seamless browsing.
- Sync your devices to take your favorite bookmarks, saved logins and browsing history wherever you go.
- Send open tabs between mobile and desktop.
- Firefox makes password management easy by remembering your passwords across devices.
- Take your internet life everywhere, knowing that your personal data is safe, never sold for profits.

- Firefox anticipates your needs and intuitively provides multiple suggested and previously-searched results across your favorite search engines. Every time.
- Easily access shortcuts to search providers including Wikipedia, Twitter and Amazon.

- Your privacy has been upgraded. Private Browsing with Tracking Protection blocks parts of Web pages that may track your browsing activity.

- Open as many tabs as you like without losing track of your open Web pages.

- Spend your time reading your favorites sites instead of looking for them.

- The Firefox web browser makes it easy to share links to web pages or specific items on a page by connecting to your most recently used apps like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, WhatsApp, Skype and more.

- Send video and Web content from your smartphone or tablet to any TV equipped with supported streaming capabilities.

When I open the other browser I keep getting a prompt to open in Firefox. There are times I want to use Firefox, there are other times I don't. It's a hassle to click no each time I want to open a new tab. I already set it to not default.

  2. Paul Backus-avatar

    Paul Backus

apk Sure wish I didn't need to use a beta version just for simple features like the about:config page... Tabs still un-load themselves seconds after a switch pages or apps, even with all the relevant options I can find enabled. Pretty annoying when almost every page has to reload every time I look at it. REALLY annoying when trying to fill out forms and get info from another app. And somehow these issues are still completely ignored 6 months after they promised to fix them. =/

download 4/21/21 Update: I want the old Firefox back! I don't want a new tab automatically created when I go to a new page. I now have to constantly close tabs in an attempt to keep FF from swallowing all the memory on my phone. Now it can't play videos without crashing. It's fast- fast going downhill. I'm playing with other browsers to replace FF now.

firefox android beta release notes Limited ability to customize. Why can't I set "desktop" as a default viewing mode? Mobile view sucks on so many web sites. Why does it open up a new tab for every link or bookmarkI click on.

  5. PinkAxolotl-avatar

firefox android beta dark mode seems to be a pure firefox issue in that their app is incapable of saving you position on the page between horizontal and vertical. if you use long pages like I do as soon as you change rotation you will be booted to a random spot in the page, no other browser has ever done this to me

Improving, THANKS. The "Add-Ons" menu item needs to be moved UP on the list. I use it very often & it's always off the bottom of the display. Good that tabs are synching now. More desirable extensions need to be ported. Can't find development roadmap. There should be an explanation of why it was so important to make this comprehensive redesign. It feels like it was forced on the world with no justification for so much change

Everything's great except for the way tabs are managed. There should be "New Tab" and "New Private Tab" options in the 3-dots menu on the top right. Right now, to open a new tab, it takes 3 clicks in 3 very far-apart places on the screen, when really it should take 2 clicks in two close-together places. Also, the tabs themselves (when in Grid mode) should be at the top of the screen, near the button that you click. That way, all tab management can be done with the right thumb.

Firefox has improved a lot since the bad start, thanks! Please add printing support ASAP, this feature is present in almost every Android browser. Also a request:- Let advanced users change the tracking protection list. Just like they can do by changing the value of a configuration (about:config) on desktop Firefox. Tracking protection has been a major promotional point of Firefox Mobile. Let us decide if we'll still let Google track us in the name of functionality, or not.

  23. David Palacio-avatar

    David Palacio

It's so dumbed down and buggy. By hoping to grab a mass of new non-technical minded users, Mozilla despises their old, loyal users and got rid of features that made their browser unique and customizable. It's only going to lose all users eventually. It can only keep a handful of tabs ready to be accessed before it's forced to reload them. It can't search history. It can't block JavaScript and cookies on a per-site basis. Constantly annoyed by "notifications" in the main menu.

  24. Lucas Brandt-avatar

    Lucas Brandt

I love being able to run ublock origin on my mobile browser. I'll never go back to Chrome, which doesn't let me use an ad blocker. Using Firefox Sync to send tabs from my phone to my computer (and vice versa) is also very convenient.

could be better, could be worse :) my main problem is that the tab menu is super buggy - if you scroll all the way down trying to scroll back up will only close the tab menu completely, meaning you have to close and reopen it a lot and if using one of the last tabs I need to swipe on the searchbar a few times to get to one where I can open and scroll on the tab menu. firefox team - I would love a response if you've got an idea why this is happening, and thank you for your hard work :)

  27. Brad N.-avatar

    Brad N.

Solid 4 stars. 5 would be if swipe address bar down for show tabs list and the few performance quirks were ironed out. Pages occasionally don't load and there's not a lot of interface feedback to show if the site isn't responding, it's still trying, has given up or just plain stuck. Could also do with a Share or copy to clipboard button for the address bar. Presently have to manually select all and copy.

  28. Marserein Jabogax-avatar

    Marserein Jabogax

Since I've used quantum, the pinned sites on the home tab have never had proper icons to show which website they represent (it appears when first saved but disappears later), which I've realised pretty much renders them useless. They only have a coloured square with the first letter of the site. Why??? Original review: Getting better all the time!! Thank goodness for the option to stop the toolbar from hiding!

  29. Chris Handley-avatar

    Chris Handley

Tabs handling is still terrible - no way to reorder them. But actual browsing seems faster the old 'classic' Firefox that I'm stuck using. Tab "Collections" are a useless concept, as they don't remember your browsing state (e.g. location on the page), and so you might as well use bookmarks. The limited selection of addons is also a major dealbreaker for the full release (I can live with it on the beta), as this was Firefox's main advantage over Chrome.

  30. Paul Fullilove-avatar

    Paul Fullilove

Firefox is my go to brower. It has a good set of extensions and themes and execution speed continues to get better. I only use other browsers for testing purposes only. I think that it's important that there is competition between browsers which should benefit all of them. I will continue to use Firefox as long as it's available.

Best browser I've ever used. I use Firefox on all my devices and would highly recommend it. Fast, secure, and reliable. Very easy to set up, user friendly interface, and incredible personalization. I love that it has a built in qr scanner in the search bar. Also very easy and intuitive to navigate.

I'm a long-time fan of Firefox. I appreciate how they are looking out for my privacy and safety on the web by v cutting down on websites tracking me. It also syncs with my two computers, so I never forget my passwords. Sending tabs to different devices is also very nice. Never had any problems.

  33. Michael Jimenez-avatar

    Michael Jimenez

Frustrating experience compared to 68, lacking basic ability to swipe and rearrange tabs, forget a site, and of course general add-ons (but still ahead of Google in at least there is limited support for a handful of add-ons). Need simpler menu that doesn't hide add-ons by wasting lines like add to home. Rather keep add-ons in menu since I might want to tweak settings or view icon status info. Missing "ask before download" media blocking data saver, tts for reader mode, and rss preview add-ons.

  34. S1CkDuD3-avatar

Edit2: After latest patch launches but crashes after 5 seconds. Edit: After the latest update it crashes on launch. Would rate 4 if you did not remove the options that desktop version has, like for example the option to add a master password.

  35. C H-avatar

    C H

GOOD BROWSER (fast loading, good ad blocking) Bugs: cant stay in desktop view for longer, and bugs back into mobile view for permanent periode (tap needs to be closed) ; sometimes tab reloads lead to a app/tab freeze and you need to switch between apps to fix the freeze ; some websites don't read the window height correctly when you turn to fullscreen

  36. Ed Boress-avatar

03.25.21...Update. I like it more each time I use it. Upgraded to 5 stars. *** Got to get use to it. I'm still all thumbs but it feels better than 3 days ago.

  37. M W-avatar

Since dark browsing is VERY popular this should offer in-house dark browsing w/o having to do a 3rd party add-on that has access to everything you do. Having to remember to disable "Dark Reader" before going into a secure website is cumbersome. Not saying anything bad about Dark Reader specificslly or any other 3rd party add on per se, but how many times over the years have we heard of security issues in browsers because of 3rd-party extensions? Insane to share everything w/one 🤷‍♂️

  38. B Nelson-avatar

I like the platfom better than Chrome. So far this is the best app yet. Even though it is a beta version . I have had no problems with it ..period. I have it on all my systems. They sync perfectly and I have all of what I need to get my work done.

  39. Russell Haley-avatar

    Russell Haley

At this point it's clear that this app will never support add-ons. The tiny handful they allow you to install might as well be labeled "optional features". Use Fennec from F-droid instead. It at least supports add-ons after you jump through some ridiculous hoops, plus they rip the non-free spyware libs out. Maybe install the Nightly version so you can get a heads-up on whatever "refresh" they're going to shovel out the door next. Beware copy/paste is the only way to move tabs between channels.

  40. Cactus-avatar

Switching over from chrome bc of their new annoying tab management. Wishlist : Let me turn off the "fullscreen" popup when i go fullscreen Give me a search bar for the settings menu Criticism : Most of the stuff in the top right menu is useless to me Theres occasional frame drops and stutters, very subtley, in youtube videos.

I use Firefox because I think its safe, but it honestly don't offer the best user experience. I miss features like pull to refresh and navigation buttons. It would also be nice to have an add-on that prints the whole page to png or pdf.

  45. DaveH2-avatar

Why is there no option to open the browser with no tabs open?! I don't want to see, and I don't want others to see, what I was looking at when I last closed it! I know you can set it to close all tabs automatically, but only after a minimum of a whole day, which is useless. Closing all tabs when you use "quit" is better than nothing, but it doesn't actually close the browser, you still have to swipe it off screen to close it properly. Why? It should close the open tabs when you swipe it closed!

  46. Maciej Mackiewicz-avatar

    Maciej Mackiewicz

The browser now adds history pages on the home screen and it's impossible to turn that option off. The option to have an empty home page was one of the reasons I started using Firefox. Well, it looks like I need to look for another browser - again...

  47. Cole Kern-avatar

    Cole Kern

Great, but the share menu is bad. For some reason, they removed the ability to copy a link where you hit the share button. Seems like a very silly oversight, and a very annoying blemish on an almost perfect browser.

  48. R Rr-avatar

    R Rr

The approach of limiting the addons to very few on mobile in contrast with pc version is deal breaker, limiting and user unfriendly. The PC version has available all addons, the mobile is to limited to few selected addons. The experience with Firefox mobile is frustrating to say at least, while in PC has many advantages and is smooth. The mobile team of coders and project management should allow all addons on PC version to be ported on Mobile platforms or cross-platform, is essential opinion.

  49. Mike-avatar

Constantly adding pointless features and removing user control. What is the point of collection when they serve the exact same purpose as bookmarks? No ability to hide the huge list of context menu items? Guess Mozilla knows what users want more than the users themselves?

  50. Lucas Smith-avatar

    Lucas Smith

Very annoying that the back button in Firefox completely disrespects the fact that I may have launched a tab by clicking on a link in another app. Instead of taking me back to the app, hitting Android's Back button or gesture in Firefox sends me to the Firefox home page. Please fix this!

  51. Supercilious Dude-avatar

7 touches to open a bookmark. No support for any of my extensions that worked up till the interface changes. No way to force desktop mode always. Useless browser. Update 2021-01-18: Still rubbish, no sign of extension support being restored...

Can't disable search suggestions. They keep appearing no matter what I do. In-URLbar autofill is forced on users, which breaks our heart and contradicts Firefox spirit. (This was fixed, thanks)

Switching the toolbar from bottom to top doesn't switch tab toolbar the same. It makes the UI clunky and not as fluid as it could be as you need to move your hand and/or finger to the other end of the device.

  56. Stillblade-avatar

Why no updates changelog? While chrome provides detailed changelog for at least the major (like 86 to 87) chrome beta updates, firefox doesn't bother to do and even for the stable version, the changelog do not contain any technical details. The last Firefox Android beta notes were for 68.7.

As a long-time user of Firefox, can you please put a homepage button on this version by default - it's a pain in the backside not having one. If other browsers can and do have one, then I'm sure they think it must be useful.

Phone's been hacked for months, phone co and manf are worthless about helping. App was good about the first 2-3 times but when you have to use your same keyboards as when not incog. and hackers are in everything not much your app or any others are gonna help with. Goes to hacked sites. And mozilla let them in right away! Also found the app was still saving tab info after I thought it was deleted. And when you put an address in the screen flashes out of incog goes to the address & opens 1st.
