precise location (GPS and network-based)
Allows the app to get your precise location using the Global Positioning System (GPS) or network location sources such as cell towers and Wi-Fi. Awesome app... I'm a ham in the US and have made contact to hams in Southern Ireland, New Zealand, England and several States in the US. My only gripe is that I wish it worked when my phone (Note 8) is on my mobile network. currently it only works when it's connected to WiFi. Other than that, no complaints! Also, I have run it on my Acer Chromebook with no issues... Keep up the good work!

  2. Tony Dougherty-avatar

    Tony Dougherty

Great app to help you make contacts if you don't have a radio available. Another tool in the toolbox!

  3. Austin Burk-avatar

    Austin Burk

In a blatant show of disregard for your security, stores your password on plaintext on the server and will email it to you on reset. Developers have been contacted several times by different hams but don't seem to really care about it.

  4. Doug Beale-avatar

    Doug Beale

Works great. However when in tx instead of a huge mic, how about leaving the connection box open and add a timer to avoid timeouts.

  5. Mark Hummel-avatar

    Mark Hummel

App will not take the password. I entered the same one I use for Echolink on my computer. How can I fix this?

  6. Kevin S.-avatar

    Kevin S.

Nice when it works but it is crashing my phone, causing my phone to restart/reboot.

  7. Ryan Trullinger-avatar

    Ryan Trullinger

After numerous issues with the computer version, and the apparent absence of updates. I installed this on three of my devices. While I haven't used it much yet, it seems to work fine. I can only connect via proxy however It won't connect via direct or relay, at least not on my network. I have used Echolink pretty much since it was first released, on my computer, I don't if a revised Windows 10 version is coming in the future or not. We shall see what happens going forward.

  8. David Maydew-avatar

    David Maydew

Never been a fan of using the internet over radio, it somehow detracts the meaning of "amateur" it's a nice app but not for those who are purist RF line myself. If you want to talk over the internet use WhatsApp or another VoIP app!!

  9. David Eggins-avatar

    David Eggins

I love Echolink, but there is one issue with the app. It uses the phone audio instead of the media audio. This means that the minimum volume on android is 20%, and I cannot change that. Is there any way to force the app to use the media audio, which would allow a much lower volume? Some are deafeninly loud at the lowest volume.

  10. Jerry Kerns-avatar

    Jerry Kerns

I've used echolink for years.. It works quite well but needs a few enhancements. Still good tho

  11. H P-avatar

Trash. Complete Trash. Refuses to accept my FCC credentials, just continuously get verification notifications and no support from developer when contacted. Will admit it's a wonderful idea if it actually worked! So in short, save your frustration and just buy a DTMF 2 Meter Radio with CTCSS and pull the nodes from online. The $120 bucks you spend is better then the frustration built into this poorly executed but great idea.

App not working to tx. Rx'ing but tx only keys up repeater. Tried several repeater with same result.

  13. Rick Kirchner-avatar

The app works great only thing after receiving an update for my phone the EchoLink app no longer on my phone home screen. I must go into settings to all Apps to fine the EchoLink app and open it from there. i guess if i delited app and reinstall it from google store it would show up on my home screen. some time when you delete an app u know longer can find it in Google store to reinstall it back in phone to use it.

  14. Thomas Bird-avatar

Works well, is an invaluable asset to those of us requiring access at almost any time to the bands utilized in the app.

  15. Daniel Flynn-avatar

    Daniel Flynn

It's great to connect into home repeaters, that have echolink inputs, when on the road, vacation..etc

  16. J. O.-avatar

    J. O.

I already have a registered account for echolink and do not see why I can not just use that instead of all the song and dance just to install it. I have followed reg instructions but do not see the same pages on my phone like directions state thus the download is not what they want. And yes I logged into the fcc using my frn number and password. I like the app but not enough to do this EVERY TIME I have installed it over the years. Not worth it in this day and age. Sorry.

  17. Brad Banko-avatar

    Brad Banko

awesome app for radio amateurs one problem is that the app periodically loses my identity and i have found that i have to restart my phone to get my identity back (callsign...). I am using on an Android device... Motorola G7

  18. Thomas Bryant-avatar

    Thomas Bryant

I installed this app out of curiosity. I couldn't connect to the link for callsign validation, and it took over my phone, sending annoying pop-ups until the validation was complete. I'm sure a lot of hams like it, but the constant validation notice turned me off right away.

Overall a very good app. The only problem that I am getting is the external push-to-talk button feature is not working. I am using the RFinder K1 and it will not allow the external button feature.

  20. Smels DeFeces-avatar

    Smels DeFeces

Works GREAT on my Samsung Note 4 and 5 but... this isn't ham radio. But better than those apps that look like radios but are just foolish chat rooms...where NON-HAMS A-PLENTY gather to lie about their license status!

  21. Bruce Layne-avatar

    Bruce Layne

First there was an email confirmation process. I did that. Then I had to go to the FCC site and download a PDF of my call sign and then upload it. It's just too much hassle.

  22. Michael Birdsong-avatar

    Michael Birdsong

The best! Handheld radios have always been my favorite.I believe Echolink was the first on the scene with VoIP. keep up the good work 😄👍

why is it so hard to shut down? im not having it. if it insists in running in background it gets deleted.

  25. Andi Myers-avatar

Great app and good to see updates but PTT support needs to be user selective like in Zello. It would make it more compatible with more PTT supported devices .

  26. Jack Spratt-avatar

Some typical bugs exist, but for a work in progress very impressive. We get to work our DX pals in all band conditions over 2M or 70cm in most cases! Big kudos!

Love the app! Only wish it was andoid auto compatible.

  28. dennis kane-avatar

I would love to try this app but am unable to get the "correct" form because nothing on the link that the URL sends you to reflects anything that your directions say.

  29. Rajesh N-avatar

Useless. Infuriatingly poor interface & does not reconnect if network connection changes, yet "logged in" notification remains. Have to close app & restart to reconnect. You could think you're connected so friends can call, only to find you have been disconnected for hours. Support do not answer email.
