Excellent and simple way to view XKCD comics and alt text. Has the occasional issue with the special interactive ones, but nothing major.

Great resource for a hilarious comic!

  3. Sam Hart-avatar

Was working great, then the new comic dropped. It keeps telling me that the image is missing and it does nothing when I click download. Fix this please! Edit: it puts a 360KB corrupted image file in the folder. Bit suspicious.

I used to use the "xkcd Browser" app, but I had one problem too many with it. This one definitely has some improvements, and I'd recommend it to anyone coming over from that one. About the only thing that I miss is that there doesn't seem to be anything to show that a comic has an additional link, such as with #2276, but maybe I just haven't found it?

Have seen multiple comics so far where an image partially overlayed some text, making it difficult to impossible to read. Also, swiping between comics requires a very pronounced gesture & usually takes 3-4 tries, can't go back to where you were if accidentally tap random button, & double-tap to fav doesn't work. Would also prefer explain to be button instead of having to open menu & single tap to show image text. // Response to dev: b/c that is so much more intuitive than just pressing back?

A good clean and featureful app i have been using for a couple years, with a responsive developer (who quickly fixed a mark-as-red bug I reported). FYI, I also just noticed #1551 (Pluto) won't load (the spinning indicator never goes away). Tried reloading the database but that didn't help.

Exactly what it says on the tin, easy XKCD viewing with offline mode and dark theme. EDIT: It's viewed with a long press 😛 5-star given. However, I can't view the title text for most of them without the "Explain comic" button because the transcript and the option to view alt text isn't available. Please add a feature to view it, or maybe something like tap on the comic to reveal the title text (so user can read title text after reading the comic) and I'll rate it 5 stars.

It's mind-boggling how the rating of this app isn't a solid 5 stars. Though one thing could improve this app: an options menu entry to open the displayed comic in a browser app. Either that or the ability to play with the interactive comics inside the app.

Great application to archive and read XKCD. The dev is great too, helpful and responsive when I had an issue. He pushed out an update to address it and now the app works flawlessly. He even went out of his way to follow up and email me when he did fix it. 11/10 dev. Would donate again.

used to love it but now it's stuck on some really old comic. i still get notifications for new comics but clicking them takes me to the same range of comics from several months ago; not sure why. couldn't see a 'refresh' or 'go to latest comic' option anywhere either
