Disaster Alert is a free, mobile app that provides individuals, families, and their loved ones with the information they need to stay safe anywhere in the world. Built on PDC’s DisasterAWARE® platform, Disaster Alert™ offers near real-time updates about 18 different types of active hazards as they are unfolding around the globe. With Disaster Alert, you can customize early warning alerts, view situational analysis reports, and access modeled hazard impacts for select hazards in a single, easy-to-use map interface. Disaster Alert’s continuous stream of new information is automatically derived from only scientifically verified sources. When no official source is available, alerts are updated manually, presenting a small lag in time. INCLUDED HAZARDS Hazard updates provided with Disaster Alert include only active hazards. “Active Hazards” are part of a collection of recent incidents that have been designated as potentially hazardous to people, property, or assets by PDC. Global events (Automated): Hurricanes (tropical cyclones / typhoons), earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanos, floods, wildfires. Also included for the U.S. only are tornados and winter storms. View is awesome. Product is difficult to work initially, but after about an hour of trial and error, I was able to get the look I want. Did notice that fires show up even when you turn it off. The source is automatic.

I really enjoy the app, it takes a little bit of learning curve for a new installation. You have to go into the app to get the weather, emergency items and areas of interest selected for the app to shine.

Cant figure how to have notices for my area only interesting seeing things across the world nut not affect me thought app be warning for close to me then half the time the map doesnt displey right

Freezes on Note 9 with Android 10. Almost nothing works except moving map. Can scroll incident list, but cannot touch one to see details. If I select map point, incident box will pop up but not link to more details & cannot close box. Also, no access to Settings & cannot close app with "X" in upper-right corner. Am I missing something? What is the problem? Some unneeded processes disabled on this phone with Package Disabler, what unusual process is required?

super frustrating application. it has so much potential but it's implemented poorly. first, the alerts I get on my Android when you click on them take you to your current location and don't show you the original hazard in the pop-up. Next, yeah used to show a list of Hazards but now no matter what settings I choose when I refresh hazards it shows zero hazards anywhere in the world. Just about to give up on this app at first I thought I was going to be really good but not so much.

Its nice and informative. Filters of notifications not so nice. After creating an account i can only filter by radius .. not practical. I wish you can add filter by country, i have family members in different countries, i would want to get alerts on disasters in their countries. And filter by disaster, for example, i don't want to get alerts for Floods, unless they are disastrous floods .. now i feel like i get alerts for every splash happening.. too much Narrow it down a bit.. thanks

BE AWARE: For what the app is reporting, it's not worth it for all the permissions it "may" request. Ordinarily I would not have installed this without checking first but, at the very most, I anticipated requests for location and possibly the usual network etc... How wrong I was. It seems it "may" request access to pretty much every permission available. Oh, and the app itself wasn't that good imho, but that's my opinion. Unistalled within minutes, and then checked permissions. 🤔🧐🤬

I really love it. I use this to keep track of natural disasters in my area. But, I hate how I get notifications about disasters from other countries. I wish there would be an option to change that. The application also freezes and lags, especially when moving around the map.
