How the Digital Wellbeing Android App Can Help You Use Your Phone Mindfully
The Digital Wellbeing Android app is a useful tool designed to help people be more mindful when using their smartphone. It allows us to take a step back from our devices and evaluate our digital lives in order to make better choices about how we use them. With this app, we can monitor our phone usage and set limits that can help us be healthier online. The app’s dashboard provides insights into our app usage and time spent on our phones. It shows the amount of time we spend on certain apps, and tracks the amount of notifications we receive. We can then set “Wind Down” and “Downtime” limits in order to reduce distractions and be more productive. The “Wind Down” option puts our phones into a grayscale mode at night, reducing blue light that can interfere with our sleep cycles. The “Downtime” option allows us to create quiet periods with minimal distractions and no notifications. We can also set up our “App Timer” feature to remind us when we’ve spent too much time on specific apps. The Digital Wellbeing Android app also helps us manage how we interact with our phones. The “Focus Mode” feature helps us pause distractions by allowing us to select which apps we don’t want to use while in this mode. We can also set up “Shush” to automatically silence our phones when we put them face down. The app also helps us monitor our own mental health. The “Checkup” feature allows us to reflect on our app usage and ask questions about how it’s affecting us mentally and emotionally. We can also use the “Daily Digital Break” feature, which reminds us to take a break from our phones and screens. With the Digital Wellbeing Android app, we can be more mindful about how we use our phones and learn to use them more thoughtfully. This is a great tool to help us maintain healthy relationships with our devices and make sure we’re getting the most out of them. The newer version seems to he filled with full of bugs, first the focus mod doesn't seem to work according to the scheduled time, I had to manually turn it on, even though the schedule time was correctly set. Secondly, I took a 10 min break in the focus mode, but even after 10 minutes it's not returning to the focus mode. The focus mode seems bugged in this non beta version, I used to be on the beta version and it worked good the last time I used. Hope it gets fixed on the regular version.

It was (and still is) simple to use and indeed helpful for concerntrating but I'm not actually happy with the latest version :/ Focus Mode and Dashboard settings are to control notifications but they don't. I still receive them even though my focus mode is on or an app's time limit is over. Wish you solve this not-blocking-notifiations bug and make me delete the newly downloaded focus helping app. 🤗👏🏻

Mind I please remind you that people also take 1 hour breaks (lunch, excuse me), and it's extremely inconvenient to take it twice 30mins every time (focus mode, you don't have an option to take a break for 60 minutes). Why the hell can't you do it, it's almost 2 years since I've noticed it, and still can't have proper launch breaks. Do you bother to add the feature please???

I have a pixel phone & the App came with & I loved it but since the Android 12 update, there's some bugs in the app. Some days alarm top of screen & Google assistant routine works & some days alarms at bottom & no routine, just alarm. I've updated & restarted my phone repeatedly, no fixing.

The app doesn't seem to recognize the timers I set up. It doesn't automatically start unless I manually open it first. And if I choose to take a break from focus mode, it doesn't resume after the 5 minutes are up. I have to manually tap on the notification for it to start again.

Hi, thank Google for Digital Wellbeing app. It is really very helpful. But I am facing a problem during bedtime feature. I have choose the based on schedule option from 12am to 8am. But when i set the alarm of 7:30 am then they show the bedtime mode will remain active till 6:30 am. I want that bedtime mode remain active till my set time and not follow the alarm system. As i want the black and white screen on when wake up as it reduces strain on eye. But at the end I am again thankful for this

Cannot give negative stars or file complaints with any effective consequences removing, exposing, or banning this app or any like it. On my lifeline device, it is preinstalled, invisible, invasive, can't be removed or disabled in any way and has been an indescribably malignant problem in our family due to the unauthorized actions it takes. If I could live without the lifeline, I would because of this horrific app and the policies it is a part of. Shame

Hesitates it does help you identify where all your usages are but it doesn't allow you to really access those or click the hyperlink of any kind to try to fix and or lessen it it just tells you what they are which is no different than something Google can help you with. It also takes up a lot of storage in my memories I have a cheap phone and a lot of memory around.

Helps me focus on work. Would like an overall screen time limit rather than just per app; plus an option to cancel or delay the force closing of an app when a timer is up (i.e a temporary per app extension of 10 mins to allow us to finish.) As sometimes it will close a game for example right before you finish. More customisation would be nice but overall does the job. Edit: drains battery

Amazing. Productivity increased, after I limit the screen time of distarcting apps. Only thing missing for the 5th star, is allowing apps to be used dyring specific time periods. For example no games during work/school. Another suggestion is "pause app for x minutes".
