DEAD ON - Daily Precision Game

DEAD ON is a daily precision game. Once a day it hands you five short rounds of timing, aim and nerve, the same five as everyone else in the world, and you get one go at them. Each round is scored out of 100, so a day is scored out of 500. THE DAILY IS THE GAME Everything in DEAD ON is built around the daily. Your streak, your level, your rank seal, the daily quest and the world leaderboard all come from those five rounds. The other modes are there for practice and for settling arguments, but the daily is where it counts. It arrives at midnight, it takes about two minutes, and there are no retries. Miss a day and the streak is on the line, though a streak shield will quietly cover the odd one. Each day's total also earns you a title. POTATO is the bottom. ATOMIC CLOCK is the top. Most people live somewhere around CAFFEINE VICTIM for a while. TWENTY-THREE ROUNDS You meet five of them a day, and they change every day. - STOP THE CLOCK: stop a timer on an exact mark. The digits vanish partway there. - HOLD IT: press and hold for an exact stretch of time, with no timer on screen. - THE COUNT: tap an exact number of times before the bar runs out. - THE RING: tap the instant a growing disc fills the ring. - THE NEEDLE: catch a sweeping needle that speeds up and slows down. - THE DROP: one weight falls, one rises. Tap the instant they are level. - THE DUEL: two needles spin toward each other. Tap when they cross. - THE ECHO: tap, then tap again after exactly the same gap, then once more. - THE CUT: cut an unmarked bar at a given fraction of its length, by eye. - THE GHOST: a dot flashes and is gone. Tap where it was. - THE SNAP: wait for the flash, and tap only when it is your color. - THE DRIFT: keep a wandering marker inside a moving band. - THE SIGNAL: four pads flash a pattern. Play it back in the same order and the same rhythm. - THE PULSE: a beat plays four times and stops. Keep counting and tap on the beat you were given. - THE SYNC: land two fingers, one from each hand, at the exact same instant. - THE STACK: a block sweeps back and forth. Drop it flush on the one below. - THE SLIDE: flick a puck so it stops inside the ring, on a board that bites differently every round. - THE TRACE: keep a finger on a spark that will not hold still. - THE COMBINATION: watch three stops dialed in, then dial them back from memory. - THE TIGHTROPE: hold a line steady while the wind tries to take it. - THE ANGLE: spin a needle to an exact angle, with no protractor. - THE TOSS: pull back and throw, and peak exactly on the mark. - THE RICOCHET: a ball banks off the walls. Tap the instant it hits the lit pad.
