What's DataSync:

DataSync lets you share application data with other Android devices That means that you can play a game on your phone, sync using DataSync, and continue playing on your tablet right where you left off.

DataSync primarily works over a local WiFi network, but supports Dropbox and Box as well to sync your apps when your WiFi network is out of range. DataSync+ even lets you sync using Bluetooth and NFC to further decrease the gap between your devices.

Feedback, bugs and reviews:

Before leaving a negative review, I'd really appreciate if you'd send me an email explaining your problem. I try to respond as soon as possible, and will often be able to help you and others having the same issue. Reviews on Play just aren't detailed enough to fix a possible bug, nor can I ask for more information.

Long story short: if you want to help improve DataSync, contact me by email, Gtalk, G+, or use the in-app feedback.

DataSync features:

- Parallel file/appsync via WiFi

- Holo-themed and tablet-optimized UI

- Automatic multicast device-discovery

- Optional Dropbox and Box sync

- Quick Sync shortcut to sync data in two clicks

DataSync Beta features:

- Completely rebuild from scratch, it's faster, more efficient and more intuitive

- Brand new UI, holo themed for all devices

- Background syncing support, with Jelly Bean notifications on 4.1+ devices

- Safe app syncing (choose to up/download per app, free feature)

- FTP support

DataSync+ adds:

- Schedule automated syncs of your apps

- Real-time sync (Beta, sync automatically as you open/close apps)

- True two-way syncing

- Syncing via Bluetooth

- Syncing via NFC (Beta)

- Create and restore local backups (Stable only)

In reponse to some recent comments:

DataSync can copy and replace an app's data on /data/data and /sdcard/Android/data, but will only do so if you command it to. Apps do not suddenly crash after installing DataSync (and certainly not Trebuchet, an app I use on both devices I own). Once again I urge anyone with a problem to contact me.

Behind the scenes:

If you'd like to know what I'm working on at the moment or want to contact me, you can add me to your G+ circles:https://plus.google.com/102020347687827639711/postsNote:

Some devices (earlier HTC ones in particular) aren't able to send or receive multicast messages, thus automatic device discovery will not work. You can manually add your device from the Settings menu in these cases.

Basic Instructions:

- (Optional) Link your Dropbox or Box account

- Tap the apps you'd like to sync

- (Optional) Save your queue by tapping the save icon

- Press the sync icon (the two arrows pointing up/down)

- Choose a sync method

- Enjoy the show!

Again, if you have any questions feel free to contact me!

I haven't found a way to restore app data in the free version. It does backup, but only to Box / Dropbox, no local storage. I tried buying the app to create a schedule, but that way it backups app + data, defeating the purpose of backing up only data. It did however enabled local backup but since it didn't work the way I hoped, I claimed a refund. Overall, most features need polishing to do more things with it. Also tasker support would be nice.

Quite possibly the first app that has convinced me to write a review along with suggesting it. If you have multiple android devices and there are apps that don't have cloud sync features built in, then you need this app. You can also wirelessly transfer apps that aren't "compatible" with your other device. So if you want to play NBA Jam on your tablet without losing all your game save data or don't want to start over on the boring tutorial levels in jelly defense, this app is for you. The new UI is easy on the eyes and the interface is quite easy to use. This app makes having a rooted device or a dream come true.

I like this app a lot more than titanium. Looks nicer and is much simpler. My only complaint is that there's no instruction manual and it seems like you can't download the apk and data from Dropbox if the app isn't already on your device

But after that, it's beautiful. I always hated how titanium requires you to restore apps one at a time, and this app not only gets around that limitation but also backs up much faster than it. Add Dropbox syncing to that and I'm not sure if I'll ever use titanium again...

Best app to install. If you have a cloud life, this app is a must. You can not only upload or download files from dropbox and box but also apps.Amazing ! What all I needed. Very good idea and wonderfully implemented

Buggy. Often does not detect other devices until after a reboot. Sometimes uploads instead of downloading or vice-versa so be sure to back up your data before running a sync. Often continues to run and must be manually shut down via the applications menu in settings. Interface is not intuitive and some features are difficult to access. When it does work it does its job well.

Moving files between my phones is never been easy! Especially the AppData. Hit-and-run! This app work like a charm. Can't wait the next update for UI refresh. Thanks, Quint! ;) He replied my feedback so fast!

Your app is THE solution. I always wanted an app that could be able to store my save games on Dropbox. I prefer your app for backup over Titanium. It has a clean gui and I love the Holo design. Finally is my game progress synced and backed up between my cellphone and tablet.

If you have multiple android devices, this is a must have app. Transferring app data (or entire apps if you wish) is incredibly quick and easy and I do so using WiFi or Box, the method depending on whether I have both of my devices with me or not. A quick tip - I had difficulty getting my devices to recognise each other initially and the fix was to update my SU binary.

After several attempts to sync the data into the right direction I managed to lose all game progress on both devices. Even force upload didn't work on one device claiming nothing has changed after playing for a while.
