Learn practical Dakota phrases and basic Dakota words used in school, at home, and outdoors. This app provides vocabulary and pronunciation of practical day-to-day Dakota phrases representative of local knowledge of the Whitecap Dakota First Nation.
Use this app as a dictionary or as a pronunciation guide.
Word and phrase categories include: basic conversational phrases, weather, household phrases, school phrases, animal birds, plants & food.
Audio translation using the dialect spoken by the Whitecap Dakota is provided for each word and phrase models proper pronunciation, with female and male translations provided with culturally appropriate.
Dakota text provided for phrases using the Dakota orthography provides users with correct spelling and grammar.
