About this APK

Unit Converter is an app by Xlythe in the Tools category, listed since at least February 2021. It has no native code, so it runs on any Android processor.

Since version 2.1.1, the APK grew from 8.6 MB to 9.8 MB and the minimum Android version rose from 4.4 to 5.0. It asks for 11 permissions, 1 of them sensitive: record audio. Compared with version 2.1.1, it adds 3 new permissions (“Access adservices ad id”, “Access adservices attribution” and “Access adservices topics”) and drops 1 (“Run at startup”). The app offers in-app purchases through Google Play and can read the advertising ID that ad and analytics services use.

Description

From the listing uploaded by “appupdater”.

Simple, elegant unit conversion. Type your question into the box on top and find your results below. Even as you type, results will appear as the app tries to guess your intention. The app is freemium (one time payment of $3 to unlock all features and disable ads). The app supports free-form typing, so feel free to ask it questions like "How many feet in a mile?", "Convert 15 tsp to tablespoons", and even "1 USD to BTC". Everything except currency conversions will work offline. Hit Convert for even more options. The app also supports voice recognition and will speak the result back to you if it has an answer. This is complimented by Google Glass support, making it a fully hands-free app if needed.

Unit Converter APK: questions and answers

Is there a version of Unit Converter for older Android phones?

The current version needs Android 5.0 or later. Version 2.1.1 is the newest listed build that installs on Android 4.4 and later. It is an old build: apps that rely on online services may no longer connect when they are this old. Get version 2.1.1 · All versions

Can I install this APK over the version I already have?

Only if it is signed with the same certificate as the copy on your phone and isn't an older version. If Android says “App not installed”, the certificates differ; uninstalling your copy first works but deletes its data unless it is backed up.

Is Unit Converter free?

The APK is free to download, but the app offers in-app purchases through Google Play.

Is the Unit Converter APK safe?

No one can promise that a file is safe, but some things can be checked. The source store rates this file Trusted. It is signed with the same certificate as the other version checked. After downloading, check that the file's MD5 is 2fbeba464ee284b3c31a53edea946eec.
