BLE or Bluetooth Smart uses the same 2.4 GHz radio frequencies as Classic Bluetooth, Bluetooth Smart technology is designed to provide considerably reduced power consumption and cost while maintaining a similar communication range. Bluetooth low energy also known under name wibree. Also BLE was built for the Internet of Things (IoT). The app is easy to use just turn ON your BT and "Bluetooth LE Scanner" will scan your device and will tell you if the hardware supports BLE or NOT.
