requires following permissions on your android device.

approximate location (network-based)
Allows the app to get your approximate location. This location is derived by location services using network location sources such as cell towers and Wi-Fi. These location services must be turned on and available to your device for the app to use them. Apps may use this to determine approximately where you are.

precise location (GPS and network-based)
Allows the app to get your precise location using the Global Positioning System (GPS) or network location sources such as cell towers and Wi-Fi. These location services must be turned on and available to your device for the app to use them. Apps may use this to determine where you are, and may consume additional battery power.

view network connections
Allows the app to view information about network connections such as which networks exist and are connected.

view Wi-Fi connections
Allows the app to view information about Wi-Fi networking, such as whether Wi-Fi is enabled and name of connected Wi-Fi devices.

create accounts and set passwords
Allows the app to use the account authenticator capabilities of the AccountManager, including creating accounts and getting and setting their passwords.

read battery statistics
Allows an application to read the current low-level battery use data. May allow the application to find out detailed information about which apps you use.

directly call phone numbers
Allows the app to call phone numbers without your intervention. This may result in unexpected charges or calls. Note that this doesn't allow the app to call emergency numbers. Malicious apps may cost you money by making calls without your confirmation.

change network connectivity
Allows the app to change the state of network connectivity.

connect and disconnect from Wi-Fi
Allows the app to connect to and disconnect from Wi-Fi access points and to make changes to device configuration for Wi-Fi networks.

measure app storage space
Allows the app to retrieve its code, data, and cache sizes

retrieve running apps
Allows the app to retrieve information about currently and recently running tasks. This may allow the app to discover information about which applications are used on the device.

full network access
Allows the app to create network sockets and use custom network protocols. The browser and other applications provide means to send data to the internet, so this permission is not required to send data to the internet.

Allows the app to end background processes of other apps. This may cause other apps to stop running.

read Usage data
Provides access to device usage history and statistics. Usage data is aggregated into time intervals: days, weeks, months, and years.

reroute outgoing calls
Allows the app to process outgoing calls and change the number to be dialed. This permission allows the app to monitor, redirect, or prevent outgoing calls.

read call log
Allows the app to read your phone's call log, including data about incoming and outgoing calls. This permission allows apps to save your call log data, and malicious apps may share call log data without your knowledge.

read your contacts
Allows the app to read data about your contacts stored on your phone, including the frequency with which you've called, emailed, or communicated in other ways with specific individuals. This permission allows apps to save your contact data, and malicious apps may share contact data without your knowledge.

read the contents of your SD card
Allows the app to read the contents of your SD card.

read sensitive log data
Allows the app to read from the system's various log files. This allows it to discover general information about what you are doing with the phone, potentially including personal or private information.

read your text messages (SMS or MMS)
Allows the app to read SMS messages stored on your phone or SIM card. This allows the app to read all SMS messages, regardless of content or confidentiality.

run at startup
Allows the app to have itself started as soon as the system has finished booting. This can make it take longer to start the phone and allow the app to slow down the overall phone by always running.

receive text messages (MMS)
Allows the app to receive and process MMS messages. This means the app could monitor or delete messages sent to your device without showing them to you.

receive text messages (SMS)
Allows the app to receive and process SMS messages. This means the app could monitor or delete messages sent to your device without showing them to you.

For anybody who is having a sudden loss of battery life, a hot phone, mismatched files, or think that you may have a virus, this app is for you. A couple days ago, I had downloaded an app from the internet, My phone started to heat up and slow down drastically a few moments later, and lost about 20% battery in about 10 minutes. I knew something was wrong, so I downloaded this app. When I scanned my phone for viruses, it found a virus and deleted it off my phone. DOWNLOAD THIS APP! It helped me.

I have had a positive experience with this app. I paid for the annual avast antivirus mobile subscription. I tried to use it on my PC as well but was unsuccessful. The VPN security on mobile app does disconnect after a few days. When this happens I simply restart my phone, or turn it off for a few minutes then turn it back on and turn the VPN back on. I subscribed avast antivirus for PC for my PC and the VPN upgrade was able to be used on my mobile as well. Highly recommend 😊

Multi-platform use, trusted virus - protection, and easy portability. So much better than "not bad." 12 may 2020 revised : I like it.but I don't like being pushed to rate these apps over and over. even after purchasing. all in all, not buggy and quick. as good as the best. no program can make up for bad tradecraft though, so still use your brains, people.

I knew I had malware by the way my phone was acting. I had Play Protect and Gadget Guardian by Lookout running on my phone. I tried Bitdefender and Kaspersky. They all showed my phone was clean. I downloaded Avast. It found 2 issues, removed them and everything is back to normal. Talk is cheap, results matter. Avast gave me results.

I do love this app but the in free version you need to lighten up on the amount of advertising that pops up every second. Some people can't afford the full version just in case you sent messages back saying buy the full version. Even that's probably got adds. Ps if your like me and hate notifications with this app go to apps under notifications turn all off works like a dream for me.

It's very easy and simple to use and protection availabilities are 2nd to none. The only issue I have is that the ad for the upgrade to the premium version for 40%off pops up first for 99¢ a month and at $11.99 for the first year which I subscribed to thinking it was the advanced upgrade with all the good features like the VPN online features, the camera trap features and tons of other features.Well it isn't and I paid $11.99 for nothing. Then the offer for the 40% off the advanced pops up.

Worth every single cent. This app does one impressive job. Although it does kind of get confusing loading the different apps and getting them working together in unison, of course I'm no computer genius maybe even all little illiterate with this stuff, but after it gets up and running it rocks. I hope it continues to operate this way, which has been seamlessly. If so they have one very happy, loyal, and highly satisfied customer right here. I highly recomend this app. Trust me, I tried them all.

It's great app to have but my phone become very slow and need to restart many times, am sure the problem from Avast because I uninstalled it and after that my phone works faster and for more information it's a new phone with less apps installed on it , also internet browsing slow now , please update because I pay money for this app to be safe not to be angry

If you don't pay extra money for each feature everything is covered with advertisements. It slows down both my laptop and my phone. You claim that the ads are only in the free version but that is false. I have paid for my service and adds are still covering and there is no option to turn them off in the settings. I will not be renewing when my year is up. UPDATE i have followed the instructions in Tereza from Avast's response. I still have advertisements for game installations Covering content

We all know how it is around here! You get very limited time to get familiar with an app you just downloaded, (6 minutes in this case) yet alone how well it works, OR if it works. I'll give it give for now, for the free app. It scans super fast! It just feels right. I know that isn't much help. Also, very unintrusive ads so far. I also like the security feature. All free. Give it a try. I'm not sure if it replace my current app, but it sounded 4x faster. Give it a try!!👍

VPN protection keeps disconnecting itself, and many times you can't even reconnect. What good is VPN protection if it can't stay connected?! It only takes a hacker a few seconds to see your IP address, so VPN protection needs to stay enabled. UPDATE: I'll add another 🌟 to make it 3 stars, and maybe even 4 stars if you can add a notification setting that notifies every time users Everytime VPN disables itself... Let me know if you do this. Thanks!

I can't log in my google account on the app... its working on my PC and mobile browsee but in the app. Hopefully it could be fixed since I paid for the subscription. Edit: After messaging the constumer service abt my issue, they respond to me after 2 days. The issue was fixed. Hopefully they will fix the bug completely.

Next to zero performance hit. Been using the PC version for about a decade now and never had problems with malware, mostly due to Avast actually doing its job (unlike some others i will not mention). Having Avast on my phone is mostly just a precaution, but one can never be too safe, right? And with the ultimate price of being free, not having a basic version of such a reliable AV program would be borderline irresponsible for smartphone users. Keep up the good work, Avast team!

I have been using Avast Antivirus for over 15 years now and i always buy it for my clients as well. It works for me. The VPN works perfectly. My clients never complained about the antivirus and the VPN, so i can recommend it to any one...i am still using the free version on my phone and Laptop now but hope to get the license one as soon as our Government ease the Lockdown due to Covid-19. So i am giving you 5 stars.🤜
