Reviews From google play store

There is somewhat of a long learning curve with the app but it's worth it. You can check out the community section to learn how to apply certain blocks, just download the flow and check it out on the edit screen. The latest update introduced a nice update of the UI. I am not a fan of the new notification icon in the status bar, a happy face. Hopefully the developer will return to the previous notification icon or provide the option to change it within the settings.

The most powerful automation app that you can use for free. Samsung is basic while Tasker is payware doesn't even offer a trial. Settings like WiFi on/off do not return to the pre-flow state when condition no longer met. So you need more complicated logic for setting changes to working especially after restarting phone. Significantly more powerful than Samsung routines or IFTTT, but interaction with UI pales when compared to Tasker but let's not forget that automate is free.

Easily the best app available that helps u do a lot of stuff you had to do manually. Haven't found any bugs but will notify if i ever find. Nonetheless this is a great app. Great effort dude.

DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS APP it almost destroyed me phone as soon as the app opened. So what happened is the whole screen turned black and nothing worked and after that the systemIU crashed twice.and on the black screen not even the power button worked and my phone is lagging

Of all the automation apps out there Automate is the only one which works as I script. Great price, easy to use interface (recently updated), useful help files, and plenty of example flows in the Community. I've been using it for a few years now and it's never let me down, I'd suggest it to anyone. I never leave work without a text to my wife, my car setup is exactly what I need, when I need it, and when significant issues arise at work I get meaningful notifications.

Only thing I don't like, is if you don't notice an update, it stops working until you acknowledge that update.

I wanted to do some automation on my phone that I would typically do with a shell script. I saw the reviews here and decided to give it a try. I was pleased to see an active forum and responsive developer. I am learning things in the process so I decided to pay for premium too. Few days in, I've had a great experience and can recommend this app.

This is one of the coolest apps available for Android. The sheer power it gives you over your phone is impressive! It comes with a really strong set of features, and the flowchart system is flexible enough to allow you to do pretty much any automation you might think of.

Thanks Automate. You just made my life easier. Many thanks. I will try to buy the paid version to help you. Thanks.

Great app. My only problems are that it won't let me restart, kill apps, or shut down my phone. It always says stopped by failure. Is there a way to stop this? And also even with my headphones on, the TTS won't go through ONLY to the headphones always both

It's perfect for me as I go to school so it can turn my volume down when I enter school instead of setting a specific time for do not disturb. I like it very much 🙂

This is by far one of the best apps ever created for Android. I use this app to automate daily routines and would really have a hard time getting through my day without it. Big thank you to the devs!

Used for 2 macros, 1.Wallpaper changer... Issue faced 50 percent wallpaper is blank 2. Camera click without launch... Most of times camera app not responding in logs and flow gets auto disabled.

The best app ever created for a mobile. whatever you ask it to do it does it exceptionally well, I'll definitely go for the premium version...

Always been a great tool to help me tweak every Android phone I've owned to my needs. New UI is SICK! Thanks for everything, Automate!

I use this app to generate a a lock button, sent automate messages and let only notifications from a certain person while on do not disturb and I am very satisfied with the result

It takes some playing with to get things working just right do to the restrictions on newer devices but works great once you do!

On Pixel III, when using the "Screenshot" block, how do I avoid the alert "Exposing sensitive info during casting/recording"?

Thanks to this app and a custom flowchart, I get a picture of potential phone snoopers sent to my google drive. Very nifty for lots of other things too.

Latest update, cannot see all options in a option list flow.. Seems like the screen cannot draw properly.. Have a screenshot to explain

Love the Material Design update! Much prettier automation app than Tasker.

Most powerful app available, can do anything on your phone with your commands.

Total retarded program. An automated program should be a script, do this, then that, scheduled. This is a moron twist to make learning curve unintuitive. Impossible to learn in 600 seconds, unlike most automated programs. Moving on.

Very intuitive design with the node-based system. Very powerful, quick to learn. Can do a lot with the free version. To be specific, I was looking for an app that would allow me to automatically change the backgrounds for my lock and home screen at set times, with this app I got that setup in less than ten minutes. All the other apps either couldn't do what I wanted, or were far too cumbersome to try and use for this simple feature.

Love it. Automate seems like it's easy to learn, and hard to master. I've played around with it a lot; One of the first things I made was a button on my home screen that would just play a clip of Archer saying 'danger zone'. Another was something that would watch a folder for a new file and then move that file to a different folder, I also built my own Bluetooth toggle switch with an option to launch Google Play Music. All these, and I've barely scratched the surface. TLDR: get this app

I had an issue with WiFi thethering after an android update. I can honestly say that support are excellent, literally within a few minutes I was getting help and assistance. And, the issue with my logic in my flow was resolved. I don't use the app for any complex tasks but safe to say, this app has a huge amount of possible options to help automate how you use your device. Highly recommended its use.

Very well done. Nice guidance of the user and good implementation, e.g. will only ask for permissions if needed or warns about potentially dangerous features. Unfortunately, using geolocation is tricky (Android 10). Even after following all suggestions/help (e.g. disabling battery saving features) I'm not able to get it to work reliably.

I just started to really dig into this app so my opinion might change but on feature I would like to see is processes requiring a rooted device should be identified differently or allowed to be filtered out if the device isn't rooted. Additional, I think it would be useful for users if there were some tutorials covering the basics as well as advanced topics.

Worked for auto forwarding sms. after using it for a couple of weeks now. I notice it turns itself ofd for some reason and I ahve to start it again. Not sure why a separate app had to be downloaded to go on the community boards...and then give permission for a broad group of privacy just to participate...

Learning curve is a bit steep but worth it. I wish it had some blocks similar to Llama areas where you can label areas and easily collect cell towers in the long run for really low battery use location support with time windows. I guess I have to live with current location blocks for now even though combining time and location without knowing which happens first is a bit hard.

Hotspot setting not working

I use it for ~2 years. I created quite complicated flows (ex. sound volumes are changed based on the highest priority active profile, e.g. home, work, headphones). It is much more intuitive to use for me than its competitors.

Yes, I understand your response it's just I have a big game and I need a lot of time I don't have. And with this it works for "better devices". But I wanted to use it for help with using my time because it clicks a lot faster than with me tapping repeatedly.

Truly this thing app a huge potential to take over app development and prototyping market... For us startups, this app is making super easy to test MVP's. Things that take weeks to build on native platform, can be built in minutes. Would be great if we could export to an APK.

This app is fantastic but when I try and turn off notifications for an app I get the same error java.lang.IllegalStateException: Failed to bind Superuser service: a rooted device is required Is there something wrong with the app or am I doing something wrong?

I would like to use the fingerprint gesture block, but its to unresponsive (my phone's fingerprint scanner naturally and flawlessly work in unlocking the screen, so i guess its not broken) . . . a suggestion is to add a quicktap gesture where as long as it detects a finger on the scanner, it will work

Great app! Using it to automate the connection of my phone wi-fi hotspot to the car radio. Unfortunatelly after the last update, the hotspot is not enabling anymore. I see a java error but can't figure out what's the reason for that. Update: The developer provided a solution which works as a charm. Thank you.

A couple of the criteria that I use for this kind of apps (i.e., automating tasks) are: - when using location as Event, I want my phone to register only the Entrance and the Exit from that place, instead of constantly checking its position. Automate does that. - the battery consumption. Because of the above point is accomplished, the battery usage is minimal in Automate. Yesterday I had it run all day, entering and exiting the set location several times, and Automate doesn't even show up in the 'battery usage' list. As for the options available, there are plenty of them. I definitely recommend you trying Automate. Spend first a couple of minutes reading the Documentation, this will make it easier for you to understand how it works.

The UI is not the absolute clearest but with a little bit of effort this tool allows you to do a lot of very unique things with your device! Definitely worth considering if you think you might have any use for some type of automation!

This app is awesome. I have been about to perform simple and complex operations with my phone that I was otherwise unable to do. It has opened up further customization on my Android, allowing me to create "apps" to do what I want that my phone can't already do. Fantastic, I only wish that there was an easier way to access tutorials.

Solid and simple. Good alternative to tasker with its visual workflow designer. Not crucial, but it would be nice to have a dark ui theme and ability to add custom icons for quick settings tiles.

Amazing powerfull app. Once I set it up. I push one button and my brightness turns down, my blue light filter turns on and it hooks up to my Bluetooth speaker so I can wind down and fall asleep.

Re: I apologise for the review I had wrote, as I am now aware it is easy fixed. Although at the time I did purchase the premium again in fear of losing progress. But I do not mind now having paid twice, I deserve it. Plus, I use this app everyday and I am happy to pay as its such a great app and tought me so much. Sorry again Mr Automate Developer I hope you keep updating it and adding more features! I believe this app will take off one day when people realise what you can do. Enough of my rant.

Found tasker to be too difficult. This program does exactly what I want. I would be nice to have a built in way to change the shortcut icon with installing a "launcher" program but not a big deal

Continues to be a solid, easier-to-understand version of Tasker. However, recently upgraded a Pixel 3a and for the life of me cannot find the proper "Audio Stream" within the "Audio volume set" action to actually control the Pixel's volume. "Call volume" in the Pixel does not seem to be covered by Automate's current selection menu. I have every single audio stream set to 50% and yet when the action runs, "Call volume" is untouched on the Pixel. Annoying.

This is an amazing automation app. It's extremely powerful AND simple to use, unlike tasker, which i have heard is hard to use and has a steep learning curve. It also works with tasker plugins but those aren't even needed most of the time as automate is a complete solution in itself. Although automate is free, a paid premium upgrade is available and worth the £3. It allows you to have even bigger apps or flows which can do even more crazy stuff. Nothing can make this less than 5 stars.

I love this app enough that I purchased it. It lets you get your fingers into many aspects of your phone, to help 'automate' so many tasks. Love it.

Only used basic touchscreen features with split nodes, volume buttons and adjust screen brightness. Easy to set up, easy to use and reliable.

Very versatile, and lots of "triggers" and "actions" are available. The logic can loop as well, not just start from a to b.

Fun stuff! I tried making a grandfather clock-like chime song with dial tones, but it sounded terrible 😂 Next step is to root this phone once I get a new one.

It's pretty user friendly if you know what you exactly what you want. Else it has a little steep learning curve for a novice, but it's definitely worth learning

Automate helps me do so much stuff i like, specially recurring task on a daily basis. Automate is powerful in the hands of a person with Programming Knowledge but is simple enough to use by those who doesnt have that knowledge. If your all about Automation in Android, this tool is for you. Cant figure it out? Ask the awesome Community that also powers it.

This is one of those apps that it's actually worth paying for. The interface, more specifically, the lines betweed blocks, are a bit buggy, but not enough to lose a star. EDIT: I asked for the subscript operator in the assignment block and the devs answered. Great customer support.

App can't actually silence my phone based on location. My location in the fiber is just listed as "?" I gave it location permission. I'm certain I programmed it correctly.

I love this app! It really works and it's FREE!!!! No problems at all. Just don't the screen or else the autoclicker stops. :)))

Very useful app great for little niche tasks that there's no convenient program for and allows you to play around with what your phone is capable of. Aswell as the authors are very responsive, so I will enquire a tall idea, could you make a block built UI system so you could just make apps running off automate instead of just using popup menu's if this a thing already I'm blind which is possible or I am extremely asking if this could be a thing it would make automate the best app for anything.

Very, very useful at automating almost anything on your phone! Been using it for years! Highly recommend!

It is perfect. Just if Google would give right permissions to the phone holder (owner) then using this app, automation of many tasks for daily life could be a possibility...

I love this app, and have used it for years for multitude of purposes. one request I have, which would open up a lot of functionality to me and maybe some other people for this app, would be to add support for Google voice to the SMS blocks.

Works almost seamlessly, though ome bug i would like to report is the "await fingerprint gesture" does not work after upgrading my phone to android 9.0. Phone model is Mi A1

Cannot confirm age. When the confirm age dialogue comes up, I can set the date but the confirm button doesn't work. All I can do is hot the cancel button. Galaxy S8+ with Android 9.

Great app. Easy to use after a short habituation period. I don't give it 5 stars because I'm trying to run something once a day but the app closes completely after running the fiber (although this might be some sort of optimization from the Android system).

It's great to be able to make my phone do things that the manufacturer didn't include - like on-screen buttons to turn all volumes to zero, on low, or on high with a single touch (and have a unique vibration for each when finished)

Please, allow to hide "running" notification on non-rooted devices. It's annoying. My phone has a way to keep chosen applications live.

As someone who just loves flowcharts and designs processes, this app scratches the itch that I didn't even know I had. If you had an editor that works with a PC, then could import into the app then you'd get 5 stars!

I use this application to help me send streaks on snapchat, took some time perfecting it, but I can now send streaks to around 600 people in a little over 1 minute, used to take like 10 minutes.

Extremely useful, used it to silence my phone automatically when i get to work. Plenty others options available.

Incredible just download and see the people sharing useful algorithms for your phone in terms of personalization and other different topics..

The perfect app if you want to control almost all aspects of your phone without a single click. Great UI, easy to understand blocks, and great performance.

It's a really cool idea I just wish that you could switch between mono sound and stereo if there can you tell me how?

Amazing to make lots of features, and no problems with performance or battery consumption

It is the best app ever. Design your own way and relax....let the phone do it for you as you handle something else!

Easy to create the flow. Although it requires superuser permissions (rooted phone) to be useful.

The best thing about this app is not just you can automate almost everything, but you can use it as share-to-save file on your phone, and that is so important feature for me 👍

A automation app, with a block like programming system, which can be learnt fast. The possibilities are endless, if you need to automate something and have a bit of time on your Hands, this an app for you.

Simple layout that has great power. It is my top 3 apps on my phone becuase i can make it do so much more

Finding the coordinates for clicking is a big pain. It's "on the list" so I'm waiting. Otherwise I would give this app 5 stars.

I use it to periodically give me a notification that opens an app that doesn't do any notifications. Not too hard to figure out.

amazing ability to modify and access phone root. sadly, there are still some functions it cannot control due to the operating system policy and security

Great for developers, easy to learn once you know the terminology, beginner-friendly, and helps you automate your Android experience! Great app!

Awesome and useful, to hack stuff on the phone and even to automate my home. Only negative is I cant export the flow as text.

The simple WiFi task bundled with the app, doesn't even work. The old llama app worked fine

this app is insane! it works unbelievably well and is fast, secure and reliable. I just have a quick question regarding appearance, why does it look like it comes from android Jelly Bean? would I be able tk request a restyle. thanks

great app... just so happens I am unable to grant it the permission to handle assist requests.... and there is no way I can do it. Edit:Thanks!

I only programmed it to maintain full ring volume on unlock when not on 'do not disturb'but it seems to work really well.

incredible app... so cool I can new just get in my car and Wi-Fi hotspot will turn on automatically. :) really easy to do.

i was able to get my automation done within 15 minutes without reading any documentation. great work!

Steep learning curve if you're not familiar with automation on android, however this is a brilliant app.

Works well, but cant use adb to help the airplane mode thing

Loving the app so far, but is there a way to modify exposure/shutter speed when taking a photo?

Works great and easy to setup automations or modify what others have built

It's too complicated. I just wanted to automatic open an app after bluetooth was turned ON. Simple as that.

It does have you get other apps to extend functionality, but still delivers on it's promise.

Lots of features. Does its job very well. But interface could be better.

Trying to use this app since Android 10 update on Nokia 8.1 no longer works. I use it for notch settings to show full screen and not hide the notch. Just says fail

It took me a bit to figure out how to set up processes, but once I got the hang of it, it is really intuitive and quick.

Intuitive interface; could use more documentation explaining arguments, parameters, etc.

hopefully renew icon with 3d style and design or much more feature...

There Was a Ad called Install Templerun I installed and my phone is ruined

Even if auto update is unchecked but still app is updating
