Atmanirbhar Krishi

Atmanirbhar Krishi App is built under the leadership of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India.
The Need: It is observed that as of date, the usage of scientific methods in agriculture, leveraging technology in farming and agricultural activities in our country is very minimal. Though there is accurate and scientific information about various agricultural inputs such as weather, water, moisture, pests, soil, etc., in multiple government department databases across the country, it is observed that this information is not yet reaching the farmers effectively. Hence science and technology-based interventions are required in the agriculture sector in order to increase the farmer's income sustainably.
Atmanirbhar Krishi App: The Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser (PSA) to the GoI has taken the lead to address these challenges in the agriculture sector by creation of Atmanirbhar Krishi App for the farmers of India and Friends of Farmers. The application brings together data relevant to the farmer and his farm, from various agencies and departments of the Government of India: India Meteorological Department (IMD), Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Department of Agriculture, Cooperation & Farmers Welfare (DACFW), National Water Informatics Centre (NWIC), Central Ground Water Board(CGWA), The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) etc.
Project Contributors: Tech Mahindra in the creation of the App. Indian CST developed/repurposed epashuhaat.gov.in and Data API integration with Government Departments. Meark Enterprise Private Limited in Project Management and facilitating interface with various agencies and departments.
