Description
In 1976, the Ministry of Health defined a national model of the Declaration of Death (DO), the basis of the Brazilian Mortality Information System (SIM).
The DO has two main objectives:
I. be the standard document for the collection of information on mortality used in the calculation of vital and epidemiological statistics, analysis of the health situation and planning of health actions in the country;
II. to be constituted in the skillful document, as required by the Law of Public Registers: Law no. 6.015 / 73 - for drafting the Death Certificate by the Civil Registry Offices, a procedure indispensable to the legal formalities of the burial.
A permanent education instrument, intended for all physicians, especially those who work in hospitals, medical-legal institutes, death verification services and family health teams, this document provides precise information on the fulfillment, responsibilities and conditions under which the Must be issued.
It is fundamental the commitment and commitment of the physician with the veracity, completeness and trustworthiness of the information registered in the DO. The doctor is the professional responsible for the information contained in the Declaration of Death.
