OK. I tried quite a few vpn apps. The "best" 1st. They were hard to use or couldn't make a connection. They also wanted large amounts of money after 7 days. I only need vpn a few time a year, but I would like to be able to see if it would be useful. This app has ticked all the boxes. Easy to use. No ransom amount or hidden costs. Free on an android device so I can test for a while before upgrading. 5 star for product and well done for not immediately demanding payment details.

Having lived in China since 2015 this is IMO the best of the few VPNs I have used. Stared with Express, tried a lesser known one with a name I can't recall, very briefly tried Nord and could not get connected at all. I did spend a couple of years using Shadowsocks but that was very expensive compared to VPNs. The only improvement I would like to see on the Astrill app is a function that the PC app does have, is the option for a speed test.

It seems that Google is now able to detect your real location and you won't be able to redeem a Play gift card if you are not physically located in the card country. I contacted Astrill support and after a back and forth of solutions, they quit it by saying they don't have any influence on how Google handles it. We already pay a lot of money for a VPN and yet they are unable to find a workaround to fix this issue.

Sometimes the switch freezes at the middle - it's not in the connected state and I can't reconnect either because the switch is greyed out. Even clearing background apps doesn't work, I have to restart the phone everytime this happens. Hope it can be fixed

I recently re subscribed to Astrill after a few months of using a different VPN. When I realized the connection speed and reliability of Astrill had not been fixed I requested a refund and got a rude response telling me all sales are final. Needless to say I'm not happy with the product or the service. $120 wasted.

No longer opens on my Chromebook. Just continues to have the spinning loading icon, then shuts down. Waste of money.

Used to be good from within China but service has declined considerably recently. Numerous connection errors, servers that won't connect, and failed handshakes. Their UK servers also do not work at all for things like BBC iPlayer, even with their 'StealthVPN' connection. They should not be charging what they are for the current level of poor service. Not worth almost 100USD per year at all.

I use it in China, I've been living in China for 2.5 years, what I can say, I pay for substitution for this vpn. I use it on my Samsung s10+, it works so bad, I tried to connect to some countries servers and the slider freezes in the middle and I can't exit the application or go in and the temperature of my phone becomes very high, it's right hot. Just restarting of my phone help to fix it. Now I use Chinese vpns cheaper, better . Last time I paid for astrill. I will make review on my YouTube

samsung galaxy s21, app can freeze at any moment. it means that I can't disconnect from the server and all connections are blocked. the only way is to restart the phone and choose another server, which after some time will freeze as well.
