Love the app. But initial *extreme* frustration with not having numeric row instantly available on the default layout, as well as not finding options like the "oldschool" layout from the mobile app on the version I'm using on my tablet. Any adult uses numbers constantly, in adresses, clock/time, bills, dates etc. it borders on *completely* IDIOTIC not to have it instantly available as DEFAULT. Adults should have the option to DE-select and REMOVE the emoji button and substitute it for something useful.

Trying this out after having some crazy issues with Openboard. Wish the default keys were exclamation not question, and double quote, not single. Also a slim theme for small phones would be nice. The lean theme is still too tall..or it looks the same as the default to me. In general, I can tweak to how I want it. Like being able to rearrange order of emojis. Good effort!

Good to find a keyboard that doesn't track you, especially on an ad-free, donation tariff. For some reason it doesn't allow me to save suggested words (won't allow me to confirm it). Would be good to have more punctuation on the main keyboard (hyphens). And the beta swipe function hasa few bugs, like occasionally forgetting to adda space, and being overly-picky with your accuracy. Going to give ita while to get used to, but may have to find another if these bugs aren't ironed out soon.

The spacebar was super tiny, which I didn't like, and the long press options made no sense to me. Not bad, just not what I'm used to and I didn't want to spend that much time relearning a keyboard layout. The theming options are (some form of) dark / white or an auto theme with your app that might be a truly obnoxious color. But otherwise I liked how you could customize the strength of the feedback, and the rest of the options looked interesting too

Wide range of layouts, including exotic ones like Dvorak, and a staggering choice of customization options. But works out of the box. No dubious data permissions. Only criticism is that auto correct occasionally replaces legitimate common words, both in English and German, and prediction is not as good as on the Samsung keyboard. Occasionally it freezes the phone for a few seconds when loading. Other than that it's perfect.

it still autocorrects my typing according to its own favoured suggestion. The only way to avoid this is by turning suggestion off. I'm looking for a keyboard that only does what I ask it to do instead of thinking it knows better than me. I've tried to switch this off but I can't so I'll probably uninstall it unless someone can tell me how to stop it. I have searched the settings but to no avail.

Nice keyboard. It has a lot of special characters I would have to search instead (e.g. typographic quotes, ellipsis…) One single thing is missing: letters like “þ” (thorn) and “ə” (schwa). The former as a shorthand for “th”, the latter is a newly added gender neutral ending for Latin languages like Italian or Spanish.

I've use it few times before using it as default, my last test mostly covers all my needs. It becomes my main keyboard, the only thing is missing feature is the hybrid language dictionary , I would like to use two or three at the same time. Lighteight excellent support for old versions of android. I use it in all my devices , actually four, thanks for your excellent work

  9. Matt Rafferty-avatar

Difficult interface, unintuitive. If you mispell a word and attempt to correct it, it doesnt recognise the whole word and tries to correct just the part youre fixing. Very annoying. Need to look at Google keyboards interface for ideas

Negative 1 for COVID ad on top of keyboard. Really not needed and is destracting. Cant find a way to get rid of it. Ultimately uninstalling because of that. Otherwise OK keyboard as far as privacy keyboards go, but still like openboard better. This has more customization (and I really like the animation), but spell check doesn't seem to be as good. It also takes a little bit to get use to the layout (not too long though)
