It's great so far! I had a different podcatcher stop working, and tried several others, which had no instructions, and the workings of them were not obvious! Also, they would not download except some did for music, and would stream, but I want to download conservative talk for car listening. This works great, and is straightforward as to controls !THANK YOU!

  2. kitalou-avatar

ios I love this app because it works!! Even when I dont have a very strong internet connection, podcasts download quickly. Very few errors snd those resolve as soon as my connection improves. Has more episode info than other apps. The podcast list on the home screen is very limited, so best if you already have podcasts in mind- minus a star only because of that.

  3. Alex Ohannes-avatar

    Alex Ohannes

windows Best podcast player, except that it won't go to the next episode unless you download it! Seems utterly pointless to have such a limitation, why can't it automatically start playing the next newest one in the list when streaming? (Edit: found partial workaround) The player also disappears when an episode is over, so when I finish an episode and want to come back and play the next one, I have to scroll though a huge list of episodes to find my place for no reason. Very disappointing.

sonos I've tried pretty much all the podcast apps on android and this is my favourite. A couple of times a week I skim through my subscriptions and curate a playlist for the next few days by downloading episodes. Downloaded episodes get automatically added to play queue. This work flow really world for my cycle commutes, avoiding no signal or end of episode silence. Great work! Only thing I'd say is that your app icon looks like I designed it (not a compliment!), perhaps you could crowdsource?

chromecast Great app: easy to use, does a good job finding my favorite NPR podcasts. Just wish it had an auto-download of the podcasts files. It will auto update the podcast playlists. But, you'll have to manually great the file if you want to listen offline. UPDATE: I stand corrected. Thanks for the response.

apk I love this app! I have been searching for a good podcast app for years! This one is head and shoulders above all others I have tried. Easy to use. Saves your spot if you pause it and then restart it later. It allows you to either stream or download podcasts. I like to stream mine unless I know I'll be away from a wifi connection. It doesn't chew through my battery like other apps. No ads! The best and simplest tool for the job.

  7. Kyle Bear-avatar

    Kyle Bear

sync Love the latest feature to customize playback speed for each feed uniquely. While most feeds play nicely with the "skip silence" feature, some do not and end up making even 1x speed a bit hard to listen to eliminating every delay in speech. This isn't a fault of AntennaPod, but the podcasters post-prod team. What would be great if we could ALSO toggle that feature on/off along with the other audio options alongside playback speed for each unique feed to mitigate the issues with a problem feed.

  8. Paulo Ribeiro-avatar

    Paulo Ribeiro

github Clean and lean podcast player, working very well for me so far (I switched from a different and paid application). Would benefit from some tweaks and improvements, but since it is open source you can contribute and help improve the application!

  9. Deirdre B-avatar

    Deirdre B

automatischer download Only (very minor) criticism is that the remaining time display on the lock screen often is stuck or not displayed; otherwise, this is the most versatile and customizable podcatcher i've ever used (and totally free without ads!).

  10. George Norberg-avatar

    George Norberg

lockscreen Awesome open-source podcast app. It has a snappy, clean UI. It respects your privacy and has no ads. And it has all the podcasts I subscribed to while using Spotify and Podcast Addict prior, so it likely has all the podcasts you are interested in. If these things matter to you, then you found the right podcast app.

  11. George Harris-avatar

    George Harris

Just used the app for a few days, but so far it works well. Chose it because it's open source so less chance of malware. Update:. Used app for awhile and very happy with. No problems. Good job 👍

  12. Beau Bollier-avatar

    Beau Bollier

Simple, no-nonsense podcast app, for those who know what they like. EDIT: It crashes when I pause a podcast then try to play it from the notification shade. I have to open all my recent apps, swipe it away, reopen the app, and then find the episode I was listening to again.

  13. L K-avatar

    L K

Overall a fantastic podcast player with many options. The latest update to show stream button rather than download is welcoming. As I'm driving and selecting a podcast it was annoying to have to find the stream button. It would be good to make a "drive friendly" mode where buttons are bigger and it's easier to get to a podcast.

  14. H. Llanos-avatar

    H. Llanos

Nice app. I have tested some others but this one feels more stable, it doesn't slow down the hole phone when downloading new episodes. I would definitely pay for the app if it cost something.

  15. Deborah Doyle-avatar

    Deborah Doyle

I have tried numerous, many, podcast aggregators. AntennaPod is the best system without a doubt. Lets just hope that it is frequently updated and does not fall by the wayside.

  16. Morris aka-avatar

    Morris aka

Very happy with this app. I was using castbox but it was full of intrusive adverts and frankly a bit unreliable. So I'm thankful to have found this one to replace it. Thank you.

  17. Piotr Luszczek-avatar

    Piotr Luszczek

The app is easy to for basic podcasting. And it also has great settings for really custom experience. Multipe speed settings allow to accommodate various speaking styles. There is nothing I would add for my daily needs and I used it for years in many situations.

  18. André Balças-avatar

    André Balças

Open source, functional, simple to use and flexible enough to be the best home for podcast anyone will need. A beautiful example of how non-profit, social minded effort can develop great software!

  19. Michael Schwartz-avatar

    Michael Schwartz

This podcast app does everything I need and want, correctly and reliably. Been using it alot for about 4 weeks now. I first tried the Google Podcast app, which was an experience I am trying to forget.

  20. Zhuoyu Wang-avatar

    Zhuoyu Wang

So good! I love it. It has a lot of subjects for different aged people! For example, there a subject for kids and it is educational. So it is very helpful 😊. There are are so other examples but it would take forever to write it down.

  21. Denise Shipman-avatar

    Denise Shipman

Pretty simple, which I like. The search doesn't seem to find words in episode descriptions, only in the general podcast description.

  22. Valerie Keller-avatar

    Valerie Keller

What an awesome app! I love how easy it is to use. It has every podcast I could imagine AND it is open source! Woohoo! Highly recommend!

  23. Marius Trușculescu-avatar

    Marius Trușculescu

One of my most used apps on my phone. Simple and straightforward. A small grievqnce is that the latest update decreased the size of the notification controls (at least on my phone running Android 10).

  24. Jewish Audio by Ken-avatar

    Jewish Audio by Ken

I like this app very much. I have a feature request. I would like a setting that would automatically delete episodes after, for example, 24 hours or 48 hours or 72 hours if I have *not* listened to them.

  25. Josh-FOSS-avatar

The best podcast app that there is as far as I'm concerned and it's constantly being improved. An excellent example of FOSS and thanks to Gpodder integration, it pairs nicely with my Linux boxes. A huge thank you to the devs for providing this essential app.

  26. Debbie White-avatar

    Debbie White

Much better than the other app I am using for podcasts, Castbox. I'm going to switch entirely to using AntennaPod. Great app. Thank you!

  27. Du Rag-avatar

    Du Rag

Keep pausing after screen goes off and I have to hit play again. Every few minutes. Not a internet speed problem. Getting 100mps and up. Uninstalling!

  28. James Neill-avatar

    James Neill

Very good. Amazing that it is free. My only problem is that periodically the storage option reverts to internal even though it's set to external and works fine for a day or two.

  29. Jesse Cooke-avatar

    Jesse Cooke

So far so good. I wish batch operations were a little more straightforward, but I'm very happy after my switch from BeyondPod.

  30. Jason Valverde-avatar

  31. Hunt Tom-avatar

Great interface. Streamlined workflow. Able to subscribe to RSS and other open formats, which is vital for an international app (podcasts in my country are not likely published on Google).

  32. A Google user-avatar

    A Google user

I previously liked this app, but it has started going back to the beginning of any podcast that I pause. There is additionally no way to jump forward in a podcast. Pretty much unusable now, unfortunately.
