Anda is a mobile app designed to enable travelling within Porto public transport network with Andante multimodal fares. It does so in a simple, fast and comfortable fashion. With Anda, travellers do not need to know fare rules and may travel with the certainty that they will only be charged with the minimum possible value for all journeys. To use Anda start by creating an account and associate one of the following payments methods to your account: credit/debit card or Multibanco card. To start travelling ensure that NFC, bluetooth, location and internet are enabled. From now on you just need to validate and travel! In order to validate keep your phone close to the validator. Please keep your phone still, 2 or 3 cm apart from the validator. A green light will be shown simultaneously with a friendly single beep, indicating a correct validation. Avoid touching the validator with your phone and try to keep it still. If the validation was successful, Anda will show a "On Trip" notification. During the trip, it is possible to follow intermediate stops. Upon vehicle exit, Anda will determine you journey has ended and will automatically close the current trip. At any time you can check the trips you have already made and the amount charged by them. Download Anda and travel freely by bus, tram or train on the Andante network.

To be useful this app must be reliable - have tried it off and on over the last 2 years. At first it seems great but sooner or later it will fail to work. This means you have to carry alternate means to pay for your transportation. If you're only riding the bus then you can pony up 2 euros for every bus you take - this can add up fast. Or you can carry a spare andante card - but how many rides should you put on it? and how many zones? This defeats the purpose of the app which is supposed to free you from this and give you the best price at the end of the month. This cannot happen because it WILL fail at some point at which time you have to have already spent money on back up cards, hope you have correct change for the bus, or get out and walk - or call an Uber. Right now it has signed me and others out and won't let us log in. So tiring.

Nice but unreliable app. Used it two times, the first one it registered only the first stop although I crossed two zones. While in the second time it started working properly and registering each stop but suddenly it closed and the journey ended although I was still in the bus. Fortunately no inspectors came at that moment. I think I'll get back to the usual tickets.

Really convenient but doesn't work properly yet. Sometimes it doesn't update the bus stops on the trip so you have to pay as if you did a round trip on the bus. It also charged me 40 euro while my fare for the month was only 9.50

It is now becoming to work more reliably, however the interface should receive an upgrade in order to be more intuitive for new users.

An app like this either cannot fail due to server errors, or must have an offline option. Getting a fine or being kicked off the bus because the app won't work is very frustrating, but keeps happening.

The apps worked so well until it logged me out of my account, without any notification. Then, when i wanted to reset my password, the apps said "general error". Anda surely succeed in making the transition from my favourite apps to the worst app ever. Aftee almost 30mins of trying, finally i got my password reset. But, the email took 5mins to arrive, and when i finally logged in, the apps remain "enabling validation service". In short, i couldn't use the apps. hope you fix this issue.
