Vehicle management functionality enhancements
Description
ALLY is offered to corporate clients to facilitate them in delivering their duty of care to employees who drive as part of their employment. The ALLY app provides a number of core features for both Drivers and their Employers:
For Drivers
* Monitor your own driving
* Gets tips to improve
* Auto-log business miles/kms
* Drive better and less stressed
* Control your trip data
* In the event of an accident, automated notification of vehicle crash details by SMS to support centre
For Employers
* Simple, positive support for staff
* Reduces collision risk
* Lowers driving costs
* Minimises payroll admin
* Rapid notification of vehicle crash details to facilitate expedited response of emergency services
* Shows BIK/Duty of Care Compliance
In order to deliver the above core functionalities, the ALLY app utilises access to fine grained location (GPS) information in order to accurately capture the route taken when driving and in order to accurately report the location of any vehicle crash events. This accessing of fine grained location information is automatically started when the TEP device connects with the ALLY app when you are in your vehicle. The accessing of this location information will occur even if the ALLY app is not visible in the phone screen (i.e. it will take place with the ALLY app is in the "background") and for this reason the user must ensure that they select the option to grant the ALLY app access to location information "All of the time" when prompted when setting up the ALLY app.
