0.9.2 the path to the web server config file wasn't right and so nothing was logging correctly
0.9.3 allows people to view duplicates in the block list, and displays time stamps, and fixes the webserver restart after wiping the log file.
0.9.4 reverses the order of the block list, and shows the latest log entries first, regardless if you show all entries or just the unique ones.
0.9.5 applied the same reverse log ordering to the tcpdump screen
0.9.6 the app can now auto upgrade itself, and menu items were added to switch between the block list and the tcpdump screens

... perhaps too great. Sure, it's great for blocking many ads on games but it also blocks ads in browsers which can impair some browsing experiences. Especially when browsing via Google, it blocks all Google ads in Search Listings. Not always a good thing. And as many others have pointed out, it doesn't always block all ads in all games such as Angry Birds. So I have found a better way to block ads in games, especially games that don't need the Internet, and that is Droidwall. Set Droidwall to block the game from both 3G and WiFi - no ads. Thanks for a great app but I shall be uninstalling it now and resetting my Hosts file. I prefer to see all browsing without missing out on anything.

Blocks most ads, including on web pages. Some apps have ads that appear to come directly through their servers, which means that this app can't block them. Changing the host file to block those ads would also block the game/app from communicating with the servers for its other functions. E.g. Draw Something wouldn't be able to receive/send new drawings. Oh well.

For those experiencing an error, you need to go to your Google Play account from a desktop/laptop. Look under My Android Apps and look for AdFree Android and click on it. You will see installed. Look under the section below it of "More from developer" and you will see it listed again. This is the newest version. The most up to date version is 0.8.45. The one saying too old is version 0.8.44.

Its been a great app so far no complaints until today. Its hitting a "fatal error, copy is too old" something along those lines. Im on G-Note 2. Tried reinstalling but nada. Tcp dump screen is empty too. Still 5 stars as its worked in the past and hopefully this is just me.

This app was amazing! It blocked all kinds of ads! I had apps that I didn't even know had ads on them until now! Just recently it stopped blocking ads, so I went to redo the blocker. It said I needed a newer version of adfree. There is no newer version! Please fix this and it will be back to 5 stars!

Ads still present in angry birds space. Not sure if its part if the program or links to outside, so may not be avoidable. In general a great app. Needs some UI tweaks to keep it fresh and tcpdump start should be explained so people know what delay to expect when it's selected.

Love this app. I like how it removes ads even when I'm using the connection tethered on a PC. It's a good way to get some extra speed out of my 3G since it's not constantly loading ads. One problem I've run into is that it seems to create problems with sites that as far as I know aren't ad-related, such as Gravatar. An easy way to whitelist certain domains would be great because I use Project Wonderful on my website and I can't access their homepage with AdFree activated.

AdFree is one of the primary reasons to root. A must have for the discerning droid owner because having advertising track you and phone home with your information is nothing short of a virus you consented to by installation. This app also reclaims your screen. I've never seen an ad in a year of running AdFree.

Works great 4 me but I need to add some hosts manually. Through XDA just too slow. Add an interface to manual enter black/whitelists and it be 5 stars! Adaway gives option to add hosts manually, might have to switch to that.

DO THESE STEPS ABOVE THE YOUTUBE VIDS AFTER YOU DOWNLOADING ALL OF YOUR FREE APPS, OR THEY WILL BE CRASHED!! Well... How to explain this... 1. Install ALL of your free apps you wanted :3 2. Make sure if you have no more application to install >_> 3. Activate this program :3 BUT REMEMBER JUST PRESSING USE 127.0.0.1 and DON'T CHECK ALL THE LIST OR YOUR PHONE WILL BE CRASHED!!! 4. Restart, and enjoy :3 5. WHAT!? YOU GOT NEW APPS TO DOWNLOAD!? Then use "revert" first, then download that apps, and repeat step 3. 6. If you just let that adfree activated while you installed new apps, some apps will not work. 7. Enjoy :3 8. Cool apps ever :3
