This app should be a standard part of the Google Assistant, not just an afterthought accessibility add-on. Creating home screen shortcuts for Google Assistant Routines should be an out of the box feature. To enhance this app, please allow users to import their existing Google Assistant Routines. When creating new Action Blocks, please make the full Google Assistant Routine interface available, so users can add multiple steps and more customizations. And from a design perspective, the icons and home screen widgets are very ugly and should stick to Google's existing visual language.

google Near 5 stars but one big issue imo thats making me knock off two. Every time you hit a square you create, the assistant takes over the whole screen for 5-10 seconds as the commands play out. I wish it either didn't pop up at all, or was more minimal.

  3. guest-avatar

ev3 I see a big potential for using Google Home routines buttons on Android, sometimes I want to execute a routine and I'm not at home yet and I don't want to use the assistant on mobile for example, so clicking a button is very helpful instead of browsing on Google Home app

  4. guest-avatar

action blocked instagram All it does is substitutes Google's voice for my voice in the Google Assistant app. Also, it get stuck in the options that Google Assistant needs before it can complete a task. Not very useful so far. Tasker does a far better job.

  5. guest-avatar

in sap mii It can only create one action at a time, that will be sent to Google Assistant. I cannot sequence actions or add multiple actions with one trigger.

  6. guest-avatar

crayola I love it. It can definetley help people do simple tasks by just tapping something on their home screen.

  7. guest-avatar

c# Image should be replace with a small icon or hide option should be available, it covers a lot space on home screen.

  8. guest-avatar

game Useful to put on my lights on and off in a click, also for TV etc

  9. guest-avatar

in loadrunner Holly COW! This app allowed me to indirect widget to my home device controls!

  10. guest-avatar

in a screenplay Change the design of widgets (make it have a curve)

  11. guest-avatar

Ohh look it's the budget tasker. Still can't trigger routines or the google assistant with my door sensor. I have now to click a button. You call that smart? That's a remote. What does the auto mean in automation. It's means pushing buttons, like a remote, according to gOoGLe. Alexa is so much better, can't wait till it has more languages, then byebye poodle

  12. guest-avatar

This should be a standard feature in the Google assistant. No need for a standalone app.

Wonderful idea. However each time I use a block on my home screen, a message tells me that I need an internet connection. (Which I clearly have, because it works via Google assistant) If I could resolve this, I would rate 5*****

  14. guest-avatar

Great idea. Poor execution. Widgets DO NOT work. On taping widget, says it can't connect internet. While internet is working and 'test action' do work. Edit: just figured this works if power saving is turned off. But still that's a misleading message.

Love it. Having widget's to perform Google assistant actions is awesome. I just wish the widget scaled better to 1x1 or even went to 1x1 by default. The images that I select don't scale well. It would also be good to have nested Google actions so you can say one thing and have like 6 things happen.

The App is like Bixby routines. It's a nice App to start Google Assistant routines. But it's not working on my Note 10 Plus. It always says: Can't reach Internet connection. Please try again later if I tap on a widget. That is boring..... Fix it Google. Would love to use it.

  17. guest-avatar

Great idea for quick accessibility and actions. But when I create a "block" and try to launch it from homescreen. It gives me an saying I don't have an internet connection and this action can't be performed. This makes the app unusable. Please fix and I will update my review. Galaxy S20+

Be nice to have the option to not show the assistant on my screen after an action. Just do the thing I request and then go back to the home screen. Still a very good app though!

It's a helpful app that frankly should be built into Android. However, it looks awkward when you tap a button and the Assistant takes over the screen. I feel like there should be more icons to choose from as well, such as emoji.

  20. guest-avatar

Error message after the test was conclusive. After it was added to my screen as a widget and I clicked on, an error message comes up : can't reach the internet. But my connexion works very well even Google assistant. So make it works before editing the app on the playstore. (Android 10).

  21. guest-avatar

It just doesn't work. It would have been so helpful for older people using smart technology. Very disappointed that this isn't even a beta app. Performs like it's still a concept.

  22. guest-avatar

NO INTERNET CONNECTION FIX. It appears that battery saver options interfere with the app when they are active. When disabled I got back full functionality. Excited to continue testing this app out.

  23. guest-avatar

    Dimitri Stamatis

It's just a shortcut to typing or asking Google assistant something. Kinda pointless. Tasker is waaay better.

  24. guest-avatar

Huge potential, long way to go. Cons: only single-step-routines, no importation of existing routines, when icon is clicked the screen goes to the assistant mode and never reverts back to the home screen, really ugly icons! I don't get it: with highest quality engineers that work for Google they couldn't dedicate a couple of days to make this app really useful and nice looking? This app feels like a half assed attempt that someone tried before going to bed late at night. Hope it will improve.

  25. guest-avatar

Hi Google. It work perfectly first few times. But after few times, it kept prompting unable to reach google assistant. How to resolve this

  26. guest-avatar

    Marc van Teerns

Idea is great, but widget icons need work and widgets complain about missing internet connection while the tests via the app have no problem

  27. guest-avatar

Could be great. Needs improvement in UX. The Assistant staying on the screen after execution is an annoyance.

  28. guest-avatar

Neat idea. Home app crashes when I try to place Action Block

  29. guest-avatar

Worked well for the one action I tested - streaming a radio station to a particular home mini speaker. However, the home screen widgets look horrible

  30. guest-avatar

Complains about no internet connection after clicking on button even though internet is on. Widget shows text too small. Requires lots of improvement

  31. guest-avatar

At first it worked, but when I tried to use it later in the day "unable to reach Google assistant" message appeared making it unusable.

What kind of GOOD programmer doesn't allow me to CHAIN COMMANDS? I want to turn off multiple lights, but NO you guys decide "one command per button"... Smh

  33. guest-avatar

Works great! This really is a great way to use the Assistant to use in a quiet place or when you really can't remember exactly what you mean to say. I also set up an emergency sequence.

  34. guest-avatar

”Can't reach the internet...” Nonsense message when tapping widget for action block. Also there could be a lot more actions and triggers.

  35. guest-avatar

App doesn't work, says "Can't reach the internet" after I click on a widget I created.

  36. guest-avatar

Google assistant crashes at times and I'd prefer it not have to open Google assistant screen every time I click on the widget. But functionable.

  37. guest-avatar

Doesn't work. All I get is error message "can't reach Google assistant"

  38. guest-avatar

Created a Block 5o tell me the time. Assistant thinks and never responds.

  39. guest-avatar

    Michael Baughan

The app is a great idea but the symbols are ugly and don't scale well.

  40. guest-avatar

Widget says it can't reach internet at the time while am connected

  41. guest-avatar

    Orçun İlbeyli

Ugh. Those shortcuts look awful on the homescreen. Does not fit to the UI.

  42. guest-avatar

This app should be a regular feature and not just an accessibility feature!

  43. guest-avatar

New way to add assistant todo😁 just improve looks and feels in ui Why android developer make different different applications istead of integration with Google assistant

  44. guest-avatar

Just brilliant. For repeated things much quicker and easier that talking. Can also make the icons much smaller.

  45. guest-avatar

    Watcharin Luesupsook

Widget is great but I could be better if we can use it as shortcut. Please consider to release shortcut feature along with widget.

  46. guest-avatar

Great app but it freezes some times and says "unable to connect Google Assistant " but Google assistant works fine

  47. guest-avatar

Excellent app, this increases the accessibility of Google Assistant and will help as a personal assistant better improving functions of Google Assistant and Home.

  48. guest-avatar

    Fredrik Lindgren

Really good idea. BUT they should be shortcuts, not big widgets.

  49. guest-avatar

Good idea, but add the functionality to allow applying an image from Google Photos, not just locally or from Google Drive.

Just released 16 hours ago and the app downloads reach up to 5000🌠

  51. guest-avatar

This is a great app i would have given 5 stars if there was much options for icons .

  52. guest-avatar

Poor experience with the UI and the Icons, has the potential to make great leaps but a dud for now.

  53. guest-avatar

Basically Google assistant via buttons instead of voice, should just be integrated into Google assistant/Google home

  54. guest-avatar

The widgets should be smaller in size and should have rounded corners.

  55. guest-avatar

This should allow a sequence of actions in a single block. Not only a single assistant action.

  56. guest-avatar

Wonderfully handy. Is it possible to sync created blocks between devices?

  57. guest-avatar

takes a loot of time to initiate

  58. guest-avatar

Great idea for users with speech issues

  59. guest-avatar

    Not good enough

  60. guest-avatar

    Many glitches .

Please integrate directly into Google Assistant

  63. guest-avatar

    No routines?! What's the point???

  64. guest-avatar

    Great idea. Valuable. Unfortunately buggy

  65. guest-avatar

    Great idea! Custom widgets!

    Great app!!!!!

  69. guest-avatar

Just tired it to program it to activate smart home products. Like xiaomi vacuum and smart plugs. Hi Dev team. Please add sharing of actions to other family members within the home. E.g. if I create a few widgets to turn on/off home smart devices. It's good to share the same configs to my mum's app as well.

  70. guest-avatar

Creates a Block which requires when TESTING. Once added and placed gives error message NO INTERNET????

  71. guest-avatar

Its Awesome, I would say if it was coming from a small tech company and not Google. You should integrate Action Blocks as a feature with in Google Assistant and not have a separate app do literally the same thing. There are automation apps out in the market (Tasker?) which can give more options already while Google should have been able to offer greater versatility. yet the recipe list is very limited. The widget is HORRIBLE and they take up alot of space, its annoying and not pleasant to the eye. A welcome addition but in the wrong package, please update assistant to have action blocks so we can get rid of this app. It's just that one day Google decides that we need an app to send out Emails while Gmail App can be used for receiving them.

  72. guest-avatar

    arthur christoff

The idea is awesome, but we should be able to set the size as 1x1 and the action just happen don't open all the assistant page

  73. guest-avatar

I thought it would perform some complex actions for my grandma with just a click. It does what google assistant does.

  74. guest-avatar

Shortcuts to commands/routines should be built into Google Assistant

  75. guest-avatar

Nice! Dark theme support for the widget icons would be nice.

  76. guest-avatar

Should be Standart from Google assistant...
