This is a good editor, and worked fine until the OS in my phone got upgraded to Lollpop. Now it crashes immediately upon start. (Old review, 4 stars: Very good and full featured code editor. The only syntax it's missing, unfortunately, is the one i need now: markdown. Otherwise, it's perfect.)

Am using JB 4.1.2 When trying to open the file frm open icon or on clicking of search icon in the app, 'class not found exception thrown'. Also there should be a 'search in file' tool.. Pls go ahead with these fixes ASAP... Wil make your app the hottest in Android market for Omni developers

I really like working in this editor so far. The interface is very well done. My only problem is that more than once it has not kept open the two files I was working on when I switch applications. If that issue is fixed this will be a 5 star app.

There is one strange problem that I have encountered though. If I do not save my file frequently(like every 100 characters or so), then my input becomes delayed by like half a second. The problem reminds me to save so I can't really complain. Thanks.

Been struggling with droidedit and was greatly relieved to find this. Nicer interface and much more usable. Couple of problems I found: when the cursor is at the bottom of the file the keypad covers the text, so you can't see what you're typing. Also the syntax highlighting in javascript seems to choke on comments in places.

I want to report a bug. When I use Arabic IME to input some texts and start the second line to go on to input more than one characters, the editor quits. Maybe because Arabic writes from right to left other than left to right.

A little behind times though, it should have built in support for "Share With" or at least Dropbox/Google Drive integration. Apart from this lack of sharing, I believe this editor is fantastic!

Becoming a web designer. I will be sending donation soon because it is a fantastic code editor in the making. Will pay for added functions . Will send email and see if "they" come. Awesome piece of work. Glad I came across it.

This is a great text editor with a critical flaw. It changes the permissions of files you edit. It can change the owner, group and bits. Combined with root access (which this editor supports), this can brick or destroy your device. For example you edit a system file as root, the contents are correct but this editor changes the file permissions so the system can't use it. Your device just bricked. Use with caution.

I collect text editors, and look at a lot of them. This is my current pick on Android. I like the tabbed interface and the syntax highlighting. I haven't tried to edit really large files, so I don't know how it behaves with those. I use it with an external keyboard. The one bit I miss is being able to use Ctrl-arrow keys to move by word in a file. With my Logitech Portable keyboard plugged in, Alt-Home and End go to start and end of like, and Alt-PgUp/PgDn go to start and end of file, but Ctrl-key combos aren't seen. (It works as expected in DroidEdit, so it's an app limitation.) It would be nice to be able to show/hide the toolbar, and opening files from the toolbar by touching the Folder icon is inconsistent - works fine if I move the cursor up to the toolbar and press enter, or use a mouse, but doesn't seem to always see a screen touch, The app hasn't been updated in a while, so I don't know if it's still developed/supported, but what's there generally works well and does what I need.
