The app 112 Belgium is the official app for the Belgian emergency services. Once you are registered in the app, you can make an emergency call with the app for ambulance, fire department or police assistance. If you use the app, the emergency centres automatically get an indication of your location and who you are. Very nice and important app, easy to use but it would be really great if it had a silent call function or emergency call could be placed via sms cause in case you need to call the police you might not always be able to make noise, so this would be a big improvement and very helpful

It would be useful to be able to select a language for the call, then the operator could know directly which language to use to communicate. The phone language is not always the best option. I'm a French speaker but I like to use my phone in English.

The overall app is good enough to use and clear to many ages of users. It would be nice if GPS turns on automatically when opening the app or calling the services. When putting in the ICE contacts it is easier to have an option to select a number from your phonebook in your phone so you dont have to manually put it in. Maybe also include a silent call funtion (not only for those who are hearing and/or speach impaired)but for cases of abuse,... And an updated look since the app looks a bit dated.

Cool app if it indeed works at CIC's (not all calltakers seem to know or use it). Since I upgraded my phone to Android Oreo, the phone app tries to dial a "//112,1" string. Witch fails. Isn't handy. Also a disruptive "turn on Wi-Fi scanning" message pops-up each time... Keep on going :) EDIT: Android Oreo 8.0.0 on Samsung S5 phone (SM-G950F).

Does activating the gps give real-time location to the emergency services? How much does it take to locate your location with gps and non gps? edit: i just asked is it better for you guys when i open gps or is it the same with off gps ? which option is better for tracking my device when needed ? I needed an ambulance this morning. The app did not work: no call was placed when I tapped the ambulance button. The app momentarily scrolled away to a black screen, but a second later came back to its home screen without the call being placed. All permissions the app requested have been granted but Location was disabled at the device level. The app needs to be more robust.
