Stars are named by :
- The Bayer designation (A Greek letter, followed by the genitive form of its parent constellation's Latin name)
- The proper name
- The catalog number (HR)
For example, the brightest star is named "α Canis Majoris - Sirius - HR 2491".
The Bayer designation and the proper name are optional.
Stars can be filtered by their visual apparent magnitude.
